This is the town my great grandparents came from. I was privileged enough to visit Sicily for a month to search for my roots and made Castellammare del Golfo my basecamp. I was able to trace my family history back to 1040 (As a historian this blew my mind). Truly the nicest people, and they were just as gracious to me all over the island. I've been backpacking since I was 14 years old. I never felt more at home in a place other than my actual home than I did here. Looking forward to your future videos.
@Jason Ackerman lawng island in the house. What part? I grew up in Queens and own property in long island. This is my favorite town followed by Mussomeli then Siracusa.
Great video showing the untapped tourism. I’m a British national whose parent have roots in southern Italy - ‘Calabria’ and it amazes me how little tourism there is but the weather, food, beaches and ambience make it a perfect holiday retreat.
Amazing video!! Did you recorded this during this days? Because I live in the center of Italy and it's still cold. But if in Sicily it's already summer, I think I'll move there immediately 😂
@ENTPLIFE I know of one that a friend used. I told her to come and experience castellammare it took one summer, and within 6 months, she bought a home. I will let you know.
