I’m with you. I wasn’t sold on the screen size at first and now it’s grown on me. I’ve been a life long user of Apple since 71. I enjoy many of their products. But you hit the nail on the head. “On the go”. This ticks all the boxes.
As a consultant in Productivity, Organization & Workflow - it's great to see a video from a fellow "Power User," who has ALSO been using the iPad since the 1st Generation in 2010 and the iPad mini since the 1st Generation in 2012/2013 for both professional and personal uses. Like yourself, I also coach clients that they need to find the tool that works for them - even if its an Index Card to organize their life. You hit ALL the marks that I would in your review. The mini has been my "Portable Powerhouse" and workhorse since the 1st Generation. It's gone into meetings with me, on trains & planes - and pretty much everywhere. I use it more than my iPhone (...remember, Jobs designed the iPad FIRST, then shrank it down to bring the iPhone to market first in 2007. The mini has also been the highest resolution iPad since Day One. Well Done - and looking forward to more great content from you !

I’ve got to agree, I dare say it’s the best Apple product I’ve ever purchased is the iPad mini 6 and to think when we get an M chip iPad mini .. that’ll be ridiculous. More memory would be amazing but ssds do the trick or usb c flash drives.
Had the ipad mini 6 for about a month. 256 gig with sim card. Combined with a hub which allows you to connect usb, hdmi, headphone, sd card and ethernet, you have a strong device. I really enjoy this device. As a teacher, I can plug straight into school display systems, and when on ministry, I'm a Jehovah's Witness, I can quickly show bible scriptures.
The iPad mini is dope, but my favorite has been the 11" iPad Pro ... For me, is been more portable than the 12" ... and now that I have the M1, the stronger chip has been a benefit when performing and producing music ... Dope review as always bro!!
I exchanged iPad Pro for a Mini 6 couple of weeks ago, I carry it everywhere with my EDC, love it with paperlike screen protector and zugu case, I haven’t take my MacBook Air out of the house. I will still keep my kindle for reading though, other than that I use the mini for almost everything

It would have been a 10/10 if it had a headphone jack included. But it is still an amazing piece of technology. I picked up an older iPad Mini this year and I can definitely see the advantages of this small form factor. I still love the 9.7 to 11in form factor as it feels like a notebook. I just bought this and coming from the iPad Mini 4, this is am amazing upgrade. My wife has the iPad 10th generation and although it’s new it’s limited to the Apple Pencil 1 and I honestly don’t need a keyboard for my iPad. Have to say I love this thing so far. With my iPhone 14 Pro Max and a MacBook Pro 13” this is perfect for me. I can carry this around easily and don’t have to worry about the need for a bag.
OG ipad pro 12.9 here still running. Only got an issue 2 years ago because of the battery, I used it as my main device for almost 5 years now. The ipad investment is a great choice because for example the standard ipad gives you amazing power, great speed and flow that youll use for at least 4 years while also keeping a 8+ hours battery life. Those 3 things can start to take a hit but you wont feel it. I love the Ipad pro big size on a desk or to watch my series, but I have had the standard Ipad and the mini and I’ll agree with Henny the mini its a great size. I used it as my travel device when working in the field and it was amazing to have all kinds of manuals and CAD schematics available in a pinch, no laptop bootup needed. Also like Henny said you dont need the latest version. I got my Ipad Pro from an ebay seller who was selling it to upgrade for the new release after 2 years of use. You got to do your homework on used devices but remember apple has refurbished and clearance options on their store and even stores like bestbuy offer some open box for a good discount. Thanks Henny
Henny, great, great video. This is by far my favorite device. I use the iPad mini 6 everyday, Take it to work. On vacation it is the greatest. There is such a difference holding this iPad over my 2018 12.9 monster. Your advice on using gear that fits you instead of chasing the latest and greatest is so on point. I use my mini for video podcast viewing, lumafusion, photo editing, youtube and it is huge for notes, reminders and keeping my calendar in order. Stay well my friend.

Everyone hated my ipad mini 6 when i got it but after a few months and use i realized its perfect for me the foar factor and the Apple Pencil 2 work amazing and i can do everything i need with it. And its not for everyone but sometimes you dont need that much to do what you need.
My current M1 iPad Pro 11” is the best I ever used. I had 3 versions of the 12.9” models before watching your video on the size comparisons, then after holding the 11” in my hand, did a trade. Over a year later, no regrets. The mini would be another iPad to keep track of, and may be too small for my vision, but seems to be a versatile and compact device. Thanks again!
Great video. I don't have a iPad, but I'm leaning toward an 11" Pro if I ever manage to get one. I really want the smaller form factor, so I may end up with a Mini. I want to love the Mini 6 more, but it chaps me Apple only gives you 4GB RAM. That said, you didn't mention RAM as a problem, and it looks to me that you run some powerful apps. Whichever iPad I choose, I want the cellular-capable version. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

I've always wanted an 8 inch tablet. The only thing that would make the iPad mini 2021 perfect in my opinion is a headphone jack. Right now my most favorite tablets are the Tab S6 and the Tab S7 FE Wi-Fi.

I really like the form factor of the iPad mini! Sadly the one I had was the mini2 I think and it was slow as heck. I ended up gifting it and still have the original iPad Air. Same slow performance, I know, but it had much better battery life than the mini2 had. I'm torn between replacing the orignal iPad Air with either the current Mini or the current iPad Pro. I guess I'll have to make that decision when I have the cash to get one 😆

Great video! I have this and the pro and end up using the mini much more because of the form factor. Two things I wish the mini had were a 512 gb storage option and a 120 hz screen. It’s hard coming back to the mini after using the pro motion display 😅
Been on the fence about this but this review might have pushed me over the edge to get one. I have a top level M1 iPad Pro 12.9, but the mini could be useful. And it’s $100 off on Amazon right now. All I need is the Wifi 64 GB model-I already have 1 TB 5G cellular on my main M1 Pro ipad.

I really like my mini 6th Gen, but somehow the Touch ID got cracked and no longer works. It’s a pain in the ass, but everything else still works. I’m not paying $400 to replace it, so I’ve learned to deal and waiting to see what the 7th Gen has to offer. My M1 Pro is always my go to for watching TV/movies, but the portability of the mini means I can take it everywhere. I use it to do my morning Teams meetings during my commute to the office. I’m starting to like the Focus modes too, so I can use it for entertainment when I’m done working and not get any pesky notifications from my work related apps.

I have a 2018 iPad Pro 256gb and it’s been the only thing I’ve been using on a daily basis, will definitely look into a mini 6 but only if today’s Apple event doesn’t persuade me to look at something else
My birthday was August 31 I could really use one of those peak design bags that you have for work I got a carry money and my work phone and other stuff I have a fanny pack and I’m using but I might need something bigger I’ve been working for eight months as a peer specialist working with people with mental health issues also in school to become a drug and alcohol counselor I got my registration to get my hours as a drug and alcohol counselor and after that I could be able to get my certification the last couple days I’ve been working full-time I was part time I haven’t missed a day of work yet I also got my community intervention worker certification to work with Gangs my brother works for project kinship kind of does the same thing as I do like a peer mentor but for people who get out of jail and have like a slight mental health issue substance abuse Problems they work with kids in schools to show them that there’s a better way and gangs so they won’t end up in the system

My only problem with this tablet are the cases. They are 99% built with the pencil in mind. I have no plans of buying the pencil I am happy the way it is and it sucks that most of the cases are little flimsy because of the pencil option.

Probably not going to happen. But it would be nice to have a iPad mini with Stage Manager (only works with m1/m2 chip). Then you have best of both worlds. Portability and desktop style iPad mini when plugged into a USB C monitor.

Will 64gb be enough for GarageBand? I don’t play games, don’t download movies, a few downloaded songs, a small photo album, reading and web browsing. I wanted the 256gb, but it’s $200 +taxes more than the 64gb and I don’t wanna waste my money on extra storage that I might not need. I wish they made a 128gb... it would solve all this headache lol

My favorite iPad right now is my 11” iPad Pro 2018. Back in the day the first gen iPad mini was one of my favorites. I bought the iPad mini 6 twice for the size. Returned them. I’d rather Face ID. Also the sizing of iPadOS bothered me. Not gonna lie I still keep looking at the iPad mini because of that size. You can rock it in a sling and go anywhere is great. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.
I do! I’m a hybrid music maker. So I have analog gear, a Mac mini, and Maschine+ at home. When I travel for work I have a work laptop, 2 iPads, and my SP or the Novation Launchpad stuffed in a bag. There is a big difference in weight if I don’t take my personal iPad. That baby is chunky.

iPad Pro M1 is my daily, but I'm not really doing much on the go where the mini is most useful. Both my kids have those Mini 6's and they're great.

I really like the form factor of the iPad mini! Sadly the one I had was the mini2 I think and it was slow as heck. I ended up gifting it and still have the original iPad Air. Same slow performance, I know, but it had much better battery life than the mini2 had. I'm torn between replacing the orignal iPad Air with either the current Mini or the current iPad Pro. I guess I'll have to make that decision when I have the cash to get one 😆

Great video! I have this and the pro and end up using the mini much more because of the form factor. Two things I wish the mini had were a 512 gb storage option and a 120 hz screen. It’s hard coming back to the mini after using the pro motion display 😅
Been on the fence about this but this review might have pushed me over the edge to get one. I have a top level M1 iPad Pro 12.9, but the mini could be useful. And it’s $100 off on Amazon right now. All I need is the Wifi 64 GB model-I already have 1 TB 5G cellular on my main M1 Pro ipad.

I really like my mini 6th Gen, but somehow the Touch ID got cracked and no longer works. It’s a pain in the ass, but everything else still works. I’m not paying $400 to replace it, so I’ve learned to deal and waiting to see what the 7th Gen has to offer. My M1 Pro is always my go to for watching TV/movies, but the portability of the mini means I can take it everywhere. I use it to do my morning Teams meetings during my commute to the office. I’m starting to like the Focus modes too, so I can use it for entertainment when I’m done working and not get any pesky notifications from my work related apps.
I agree with you sir, but I can't leave my 11' 2018 pro just yet. If Apple listens, and gives us a mini pro, now we're talking.

My birthday was August 31 I could really use one of those peak design bags that you have for work I got a carry money and my work phone and other stuff I have a fanny pack and I’m using but I might need something bigger I’ve been working for eight months as a peer specialist working with people with mental health issues also in school to become a drug and alcohol counselor I got my registration to get my hours as a drug and alcohol counselor and after that I could be able to get my certification the last couple days I’ve been working full-time I was part time I haven’t missed a day of work yet I also got my community intervention worker certification to work with Gangs my brother works for project kinship kind of does the same thing as I do like a peer mentor but for people who get out of jail and have like a slight mental health issue substance abuse Problems they work with kids in schools to show them that there’s a better way and gangs so they won’t end up in the system

I want to learn Lumafusion. I've never owned an iPad. Is the mini6 powerful enough to edit with Lumafusion? And thanks for you videos. I've been following you for several years now and I love how genuine you are.
My only problem with this tablet are the cases. They are 99% built with the pencil in mind. I have no plans of buying the pencil I am happy the way it is and it sucks that most of the cases are little flimsy because of the pencil option.

Probably not going to happen. But it would be nice to have a iPad mini with Stage Manager (only works with m1/m2 chip).
Then you have best of both worlds. Portability and desktop style iPad mini when plugged into a USB C monitor.

@@HennyThaBizness if we are talking hypotheticals, A Logic Pro port 🤞, but for this year it would have to be iPadOS stage manager and how devs work their magic with the new gates apple are opening up. Still use the cubasis I got from you in an earlier video from you and the way they and zenbeats update their app consistently, it’s looking real bright for iPads. We forget how spoiled we are as humans to have this much digital audio/video creating power without a desktop or laptop 😂 Nothin but love Henny! 🤟🤟

My favorite iPad right now is my 11” iPad Pro 2018. Back in the day the first gen iPad mini was one of my favorites. I bought the iPad mini 6 twice for the size. Returned them. I’d rather Face ID. Also the sizing of iPadOS bothered me. Not gonna lie I still keep looking at the iPad mini because of that size. You can rock it in a sling and go anywhere is great. Hopefully a Face ID and 🤞🏽120hz iPad mini comes out in the future. Great vid Hen✊🏽

I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

I do! I’m a hybrid music maker. So I have analog gear, a Mac mini, and Maschine+ at home. When I travel for work I have a work laptop, 2 iPads, and my SP or the Novation Launchpad stuffed in a bag. There is a big difference in weight if I don’t take my personal iPad. That baby is chunky.
