Here from Nico's version of the song, sound is great! The guitar work is amazing and it's nice to hear the song still being played. It's a beautiful song and deserved to be one of the most iconic songs of the 60s.
Primitives songs get better each time you hear them. I've heard this song enough that I've gone from "meh" to "wow". PJ is an excellent composer, Tig & Raph lay down the groove, and T^2's backing vocals are angelic.
I agree with you Leigh - Paul sings "Laughing up my Sleeve", "All the way Down (non-beat version)", "Oh honey sweet", "Shine", "I Almost Touched You" and of course this "I'm Not Sayin" just name a catalogue of great songs with Paul on leads. Agree with you €;^) Take nothing away from Tracy though but Paul is great too on vocals
I think all of Paul's songs are really good, but my God, with Tracy in the group, I can't wish for more than 15% Paul songs. :) BTW: Lose the Reason is awesome live. Tracy's "Tinkerbell" voice with Paul's "Lou Reed" are unbeatable.
Dig it. Sounds like a mix of Ramones, with a Nick Lowe/ Dave Edmunds (Rockpile)influence. Great use of reverb throughout. The guitar work is first rate.
Gordon Lightfoot originally, but Nico did do it as well. The way in which Paul pronounces words suggests the Nico version is foremost in his mind, though.

Ok... wow. How have I lived 63 years without this?

Nico released her version as a single but it was written by Gordon Lightfoot.

This fantastic video is directly responsible for making me add a Fender Jaguar to my guitarsenal!! I enjoy it as much as this superb track.
soo goood! Would loove to hear them tackle "All Tomorrow's Parties"
Anyone notice that Paul is an excellent sentimentalist?
Love seeing Tracy in real-world shoes btw. :)

Nico recorded it in '65. It was her first single. Very different from everything else she did.

I prefer the Paul lead vocal tracks.
velvet undergroundだな
The song sounds very good. Not better than Nico or Lightfoot, but very good.
The group look like pretentious posers, but who knows....
One word -- "Crash".
