I am honestly so jealous, this is magical
My town had 156 people in it, I can attest THIS is rural life. It brought back memories. I had my own "big rock" and creek. Crazy.
wouldnt say southern, suburbs of MD were similar to this.
@@trishaaloo5281 I'm from Northeast Pennsylvania and my childhood was exactly the same.
Definitely rural, but not exclusively southern.
These documentary clips made me realise how incredible a rhett and link travel show would be
Craig Mitchell I live with AT&T did you know that
Yes! we totally need that to happen
YES
Yesssss!!😍 great idea!!
They did travel and film back in 2008! Look up Rhett&Link Great American Road Trip :)
I like how they remember Ben and continue to mention how important he is to them.
I was kind of shocked by the mention of him, I don't believe I've ever heard him be mentioned by Rhett or Link or seen pictures of him before? Maybe he just wished to keep his confidentiality. It is very nice of them to remember him in this way, though.
toffee&lime Yes they probably ask his family if it was ok, nice of them to be respectful.
toffee&lime They have mentioned him a lot actually but not recently. They’ve talked more about him in ear biscuits for sure and the book of mythicality was in memory of Ben
@@Motley_CV what happened to ben? i also have not heard much about him

They need to make a movie about their childhood.
and use their children as themselves in the past
Well they kinda already did with “Looking For Mrs. Locklear”
Yes
I think that's the plan. Successful books are a lot easier to make into a movie, and it's a lot easier to write a book than make a movie. Definitely a much cheaper trial run.

It was Link who picked up the turtle, but I was wondering why Rhett was more concerned about that snake skin than the turtle... if Link was gonna get salmonella, it would have happened with the turtle. 😂
I think turtles are amphibians

Ben is smiling down knowing that Rhett and link kept their relationship strong.
I love how they always mention Ben. Like Ben is really a mythical being we never got to meet. You can tell how they cherished their childhood memories with Ben.
Hearing about Ben was really sad, it's really sad he wasn't there with you.
True that... Luckily they didn't visit his grave tho.. they would of jumped straight in unceremoniously! lol

"The oath has been fulfilled!".
Those boys back back then just knew they would do something great together and just look how far they've come.

Yep. Cried a bit too. For the same reason you've stated.
Agreed this was amazing
When link is talkin’ about the tree in their book and then linkin’ hands he got choked up at the end and you can feel how much they miss their friend. Losin’ a friend is so tough even years later it still hurts.

I lost it at that whole scene of Link trolling Rhett for “sharing knowledge that he’s making up on the spot” and then he just walks through the river and Rhett’s like D:
*About the tree:* when you were kids you were smaller. the lower you go on the tree the bigger it gets. if you would've wrapped your arms around the lower part of the tree it would've been bigger.
Mickael Good point! They are taller now so they wouldn’t be wrapping their arm’s around it in the same spot.👍🏻🙂
Not to mention that some of those trees could have still been growing, so their tree may not even be the biggest anymore.

These three episodes have been easily my favorite ever. Seeing these two guys reminiscing about their youth together is just awesome. Thank you so much for sharing this with fans of the show!
I'm still not convinced they found THE tree
Link: * was draped over a barbed wire fence and being repetitively shocked my an electric fence *
Rhett: * was standing in the woods laughing *
This was a great documentary, Ben would be really proud of your guy's success :)
The authenticity of their relationship is so refreshing. They somehow make us all feel a connection to or longing for Buies Creek, even though most of us have never been. You can't put a price tag on that.
Maybe they should've carved their initials in it 😅 I'm actually really surprised they didn't.

I'm honestly super happy they never carved into the tree. Carving into bark exposes the lifeblood of the tree, the xylem and phloem.
