I was thinking about this in my head.
@Tippi B they remind me of my brother and his childhood best friend. And the parents still live in the same house.
I was thinking that the whole time! Like, how did they get him to agree to this?
This comment made me laugh outloud

I love how their accents resurface in NC
“We wanna go to ma ol bedroom”
I know I heard at least one "daggum".
That's basically what happened when I moved back to Georgia after living in California for over 20 years ... It's weird because even when I lived in California it would come back as certain times like when I was mad or excited about something but I think the biggest thing was if I heard someone else using a similar accent mine always kicked in ... I think it was about being comfortable people from other parts of country ain't very nice to us they tend to treat us like we're not as intelligent or like we agree with bad things that happened here over a hundred years ago so we have to hide these accents but I've noticed in recent years they've actually become something that more and more people enjoy hearing so that's definitely nice

Dania same. Trailer park to trailer park. My childhood home was basically my grandmas house.
Same! Soon after my parents' divorce, our house got foreclosed. So from when I was 7/8 we would move once every year or two. Even lived on a campground for a bit. I'm in my 20s now and we still move every few years.... All I wanted as a kid was some damn stability lol
I always stayed in the same place, but my childhood wasn’t filled with close friends or exploring the neighborhood (not until maybe now, in adulthood and hopefully future) so I get wistful too when I see this.
