I mean, it's a literal clown so of course it's going to be very colorful and quite goofy in its proportions. The reason the demo was in VR is *very* likely to avoid leaks of the game. If you go on the game page it's a "normal" game first AND THEN a VR game (optional).
I think the reason it’s so colorful is because it’s supposed to be a Mascot Costume (obviously) But what I’m trying to say is that it’s trying to be Appealing to Kids and very vibrant

@@DroidPenguin >Justifying a design choice with in lore reasons ???? My brother in christ, it's a fucking CLOWN. It's going to LOOK like a Clown. What do you expect a Clown to look like?
I heard somewhere on Twitter that it’s more linear like Ruin, they just did Levels to show off the demo (like they do for every Pax demo) Also, as someone who’s played HW1, HW2, and hello neighbor VR on PSVR2, they all control GREAT, knowing it’s like HNVR is hype, some of the puzzles in that game were awesome, so having a fnaf game like that is gonna be crazy
Said's 'This has levels that also kinda screams VR game to me-" when FNAF has had Five level nights since the beginning just called 'Night 1, Night 2', ect.
As one of the few people that actually played the Hello Neighbor VR game, it controls fine enough. Doors are a bit wonky to open and go though, but everything else is fairly responsive and works well enough with the game being presented. As for the game as a whole, it's a pretty mediocre VR puzzle game (which seems to be in line with the Hello Neighbor brand haha), but I'll give it props and say that it does have a few good idea sprinkled in there, especially during the final act of the game.
No Man’s Sky is a normal game that has VR optional, but both are of comparable quality. Honestly it’s a good middle ground. FNAF has always been ideal for VR, but most people don’t have VR. Letting people with VR play it that way and play it flat is good. I don’t get there being a problem with having both. It’s like complaining that showing a game being played on PC isn’t smart because it’s mostly going to be played on console and mobile. Help Wanted and Help Wanted 2 are the best FNAF games they’ve released, and it feels like both Steel Wool knows what they’re doing with VR and it’s the best medium. This just comes off as someone who doesn’t like VR and basing everything on that dislike for VR.
The main worry is that the game is first and foremost a VR game. PC ports are very different than a game made for a computer. HW 1 and 2 are great, but they are significantly better in VR because they don't transfer well onto PC. Like, you could theoretically make a SB VR port, but it would pale in quality and gameplay compared to the actual thing. Since VR is a much less affordable and less common option, it should NOT be prioritized.
@@oxyfayhow is it first and foremost a vr game? Just because the demo was in VR? The game sounds similar play style to SB so how exactly does that make it sound like it was created with only VR in mind?
@@Metalguy86 I'm saying that's what people are worried about. It could easily still be a situation where it is made with both ports in mind. But it's going to be a big disappointment if shown to be primarily a VR game.
@@oxyfay I mean no one should really be worried after hearing Codas breakdown of the demo. It's literally like SB gameplay, which should right there alleviate the worry that non vr players get the shift. It's a free roam game with puzzles and chase sequences. Sounds pretty SB to me. People worry too easily.
I don't know if it's just tone or something that I'm misreading... but you seem very ready to hate/be overly critical of all the news while working out how to dislike/voice the worst scenarios. I guess the term "hater" kinda fits maybe? After the Scott interview explaining Security Breach, I think Steel Wool has definitely proven they can do great things. The games without those unique problems have all been pretty great hits so far, so I think it's perfectly okay to just be excited and less cautious for now. :3
Have you watched the game No have you played the game NO You have not experienced the game. So stop saying it's bleak. It's a 5 min demo of random parts which you haven't even seen HOW IS IT BLEAK.
I know! It makes me so mad that so many people are already acting like this game is a total failure and a Poppy Playtime clone when most people haven’t even seen it!

It is possible that the developers did not want people to play the main game yet, so they set up the VR system to prevent spoilers. Alternatively, they may not have a demo ready, so they are using VR because they already have a few levels built in it. However, these are only possibilities.
I would imagine for the demo "levels" would just mean picking two checkpoints and then calling the space between those two checkpoints one "level" because they can't just give the whole game away
9:13 I mean, I played the Hello Neighbor VR game on the quest 3 and the controls seem fine enough, my only problem was my own inability to figure stuff out.
2:40 I dunno what makes it more frightening: the fact that they’re SO colorful, in contrast to the horrific setting, or just… that face. It just… it eeks me out, and I think the colorfulness just makes it even more freaky, it makes it more alien feeling, and just… THIS IS THE FIRST FNAF CHARACTER TO FREAK ME OUT, like genuinely freak me out.
VR isn't as accessible. Most people can't afford a VR headset PLUS a console/PC to play the game, PLUS the game itself. So I'm glad they're making it in both VR and regular mode, for release at seemingly the same time. It's a nice change that I really appreciate
@@jay7art132 The first Help Wanted was only VR when it came out but it eventually did get a non-VR version. And I think since then any VR game in the FNAF franchise is just going to be VR and non-VR options.
Pics from back then show that clowns from the 70's tended to use ALL of the primary colors in their outfits and more (looking like a crayola factory vomited them into existence, honestly) so the sheer number of colors fits the time period to me. I'm sure with the proper lighting and ambiance it'll be scary. As for VR mode, I'm pretty sure they chose to use it so that no one could record it on the sly. And as for having "levels" so did Ruin. Each chapter of Ruin took place in an entirely different area of the Pizzaplex, ie a different "level". Certainly the Pizzaplex lobby was a very different environment from Gator Golf and that was just the first 5 minutes of the game. Being dragged deeper into the facility also feels Ruin-esque. Aside from base game Security Breach, which that game's development was complicated by lockdown and Scott being way too uncommunicative with the team (as he admitted in the Dawko 2.0 interview), they haven't let us down so I remain optimistic about the new game.
something worth calling out is the mimic costume because while yes it's certainly different we can notice two things about it one it's a funtime model and two on his bowtie he's a red button on it there's only one other character with that ennard
I mean there never has been an explanation for the Ennard mask in sister location, so it could be either an alternate version or prototype faceplate for Jackie or an animatronic similar to her :P
@EchoBlossom059 that's what I was thinking or maybe Jackie was a prototype of the funtimes which is why they look different from them it could also explain the mimic himself because one if the things the funtimes have our voice mimic luring aka the ability to mimic human voices
@@GrimReaper_TTV "Ennard" is the collective name of the SL animatronics after they all joined together to escape within Michael, it isn't the animatronic's actual name. I don't think that "Jackie" is a confirmed name, but I could be wrong on that. Ennard's face is similar in shape to Jackie's, including its little party hat. And Jackie is, presumably, the Mimic - a thing that _can mimic voices._ The mascot being feminine won't matter if the Mimic can just imitate the voice. I'm pretty sure that's also how "Baby" spoke to you after being sent to the scooping room - something imitated her (as shown by the voice saying "Circus Baby has already been sent to the scooping room today"). What else would imitate something so well than a Mimic? IMO, "Ennard" is just an older version of Jackie. Or newer, depending on when this next game is set.
@@AShatteredDragonsSpirit >depending on when this next game is set. 1979 Ennard is 100% an entirely different character from Jackie, the ONLY similarity is the mask :V
8:43 this makes no sense. Levels have been a thing in normal games way before vr. Including many 1st person horror games. It’s pretty obvious a re7 situation all of your worries are misplaced imo
It makes sense if you're demoing a game that is a hybrid VR game to demo the VR version, because A. The game footage that we'll see from screens will look pretty similar anyways, and B. Because many people don't have VR and VR no matter how many trailers or gameplay footage is shown of VR is something that really needs to be experienced for people to truly see how it changes the way games feel completely, and when it comes to "no one is clamoring" speak for yourself. As someone who plays both VR and non VR Fnaf there is not a single non VR Fnaf experience that comes even close to being immersed in the world in the Fnaf universe in VR. Steel Wool made the right decision.
to me that description sounds like the gameplay described is more akin to like Borderlands 2 VR or Resident Evil 7 VR where it is a fully featured game with VR added after. It's not like the Help Wanted games where you stand in 1 spot and walk around your room, you would use a thumbstick on the left hand controller to move full around full 3d environments like you would in any other non-vr 3d game, just using your head to control the camera instead of a second analog stick
Demo showcases will sometimes segment the game as not to spoil anything, or to show off different playstyles. It’s likely that that’s why the game has levels
Resident Evil 7 is a good comparison for something like this, a normal game with a VR mode being optional So i have faith that it'll turn out alright, RE7 is really fun in VR and both HW 1&2 are as well
With the type of game it is (free roam probably survival) I think it’ll be a good conversion to flat mode, or vise versa as far as we know. Games like these (think of RE and RE VR games, phasmophobia, probably others) work REALLY WELL on both platforms, unlike the stay in one place level designs that make HW 1’s flat mode boring
Yeah it can definitely work if done correctly the resident evil franchise as well as other examples I can’t think of has shown as flat screen to vr or vise versa can work idk why people think it cant
its not a vr game marketed as a normal game to me even cody said "2 levels" because in thi case "levels" means steel wool just took random small parts from a big narrative game and showed that. Unlike help wanted 2 where every level is different and takes place in a completely different setting, this game takes place in the same place with the same threat. So i assume this is gonne be like ruin.
With Jackie's colors and design, it kinda reminds me of both Crinkles the Clown from that one cereal advertisement, as well as how colorful the set of the original Adam's Family was but they were able to get away with it due to the black and white era tvs. Makes me kinda wonder if we'll see them in black and white more in-game and stuff
When phone guy mentions, I think in the night 2 phone call about how if he had a sing those songs for 20 something years. Genuinely most Fnaf fans that the first game takes place in the 90s specifically 93 or possibly 94 so if you subtract that number by 20. You’ll get 1974 or 73 depending on what year you think fnaf one takes place
Maybe Secret of the Mimic was meant to be DLC for Help Wanted 2, but as a result of too much ambition(?), development changed to it being a full game. I'm not 100% confident in this, but as you said before, it's purely speculation.
I mena steel wool was originally a VR game company so i think it makes sense for there to be a VR option. And honestly the trailer to me really doesnt scream that it isnt VR
Steel Wool is at its best when they are making VR games, they're a vr company after all. Help Wanted 1 and 2 are honestly my favorite VR games right next to the RE4 VR port (the fact they even stack up to a AAA company like Capcom is insane) so this game being VR is not an issue at all, and the "VR Optional" seems like a way to say a "flatmode" is dropping the same day as the VR version as HW 1&2 had a couple month wait for their respective ports. While not definitive I'd say this game is shaping up to be good, the HW games are some of the only actual fun gameplay in all of fnaf and to see them take a VR game seriously as a linear story experience has me all the more hyped for as uninterested in this series I am now a days.

Kinda surprised to see Paper Monsters. It was really good, until the mobile port ended up getting put under some random company who put it into some subscription service for some reason. First game that I ever played.
I don't see why the game being in VR is such a big problem? Steel Wool has proven that they are really good at making VR exclusive games, so if anything the game being made for the headset makes me really hopeful about the quality Plus yeah, like many people said it's harder to leak any game footage for a VR game
@Bonster_TheBunny that sounds like the individuals problem. I wanted to play Into the Pit when it launched, but since I'm on console, I have to wait. You guys can wait, too, if it launches on VR first, but it's not because it's going to launch day 1 on both since it already has VR listed as "optional".
I feel like what might be happening, is they made it as a vr game, but their marketing it as a normal game so they can get both markets. I wouldnt be surprised if the first trailer trys to shows both vr and non-vr gameplay
It's a normal game first. They're demonstrating the VR only because: More effective spooks/looks nicer. Harder to Leak. That's their Specialty, so it's likely going to be the Strongest mode.

This honestly just sounds like how most high budget VR games control and appear, which is amazing i gotta say. I can totally see this being both a VR and flatscreen game although its almost definitely going to be one of those cases where the flatscreen version pails in comparison to the VR version simply because you dont actually experience the world or perform any of the actions yourself. I can imagine cranking the box manually in VR and just holding a button on flatscreen Absolutely loving the love VR is getting recently! I know you said you have no interest in it but if you knew the state of VR games then i'm sure you wouldn't be saying that. No the FNaF VR games arent a good tell of what vr is like today, they play more like arcade machines than VR games If you want some recommendations id suggest looking at Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, its got some of the most in-depth scavenging, crafting, and combat mechanics in any game period, and its the scariest game i've ever played (i've played all the fnaf games and TJOC)
There's a lot of games where you can play with a controller on your TV and also in VR this'll just be that. The reason they wanted to make the demo VR only is to prevent people from leaking footage or screenshots of the game it's why when asked Dawko said he wouldn't be getting any footage of the game so trying to control what the consumer can and can't see before the product is released is not surprising for a company
Best-case scenario, the VR support in this game is like in Resident Evil 7. It greatly enhances the experience if you have it, but the game is built around the fact that you don't need it.
My theory for the VR stuff is that the "normal" fnaf gameplay will be able to be played in VR; akin to how HW/HW2 remade earlier fnaf games in VR while keeping their mechanics mostly similar. It makes sense if they made a survive-the-night part of the game, and just made it so that both playing it regularly and in VR was possible (tho thats speculation i havent seen any gameplay yet)
i think the reason why Steel Wool only showed the VR version of the game is because, at least in the fan base, the VR games are well received while the only none-VR game is.... well it's Security Breach, i don't think i need to explain how the fan base feels about it
It's far more likely: VR is an objectively better experience for Horror typically, especially for a short Demo. FAR harder to Leak. It's their Specialty.
@@higueraft571 yeah that's probably true, the No Leaking part i mean but i like to imagine they did it out of fan reputation, like i said the fans enjoy their VR games while they dislike their (only) Non-VR game, i think that's funnier, like "hey guys check out our new game, don't worry it's a VR game, you love our VR games, right guys?"

I don’t like how it’s in a toy factory, we don’t need more poppy playtime clones 😭 Honestly wishing it took place at a carnival (edit people are telling me its not a toy factory)
Maybe it's due to the player character owning the toy factory. My guess is that the player character is probably Henry. This could also prove that the books are not entirely canon and in-universe they're cover stories produced by Fazbear Entertainment.
Wanna confirm something. While yes it’s a toy factory, this factory IS making stuff FOR the carnival. It has genuine reason here and has had hints from fnaf vr 1 It may not take place in just the toy factory EDIT!!, it might not be a toy factory and rather just full on mascot and prop factory by faz ent Possible that it still was a toy factory but judging by recent stuff it’s not specifically toys.
a factory just makes sense as that's were the mimic was left before Faz Ent put it in the pizzaplex and seeing as how Jackie doesn't have legs its probably The Mimic because The Mimic didn't have legs until the 2nd set of Faz Ent workers sent to retreive him gave them to him
They likely showed it off in VR for a few reasons.
-A passer by can't get a glimpse of the game, so they can control who gets to see it.
-You can't exactly stick your phone/gopro into the headset as you play, so it's much less likely that gameplay footage leaks
-IMO VR can be scarier, this is supposed to be a horror game after all
-They probably still have the PSVR setups from last year still in storage, no need to source TVs/monitors if they can just use the VR headsets they already have

My brother in christ, it's a fucking CLOWN. It's going to LOOK like a Clown.
What do you expect a Clown to look like?
I heard somewhere on Twitter that it’s more linear like Ruin, they just did Levels to show off the demo (like they do for every Pax demo)
Also, as someone who’s played HW1, HW2, and hello neighbor VR on PSVR2, they all control GREAT, knowing it’s like HNVR is hype, some of the puzzles in that game were awesome, so having a fnaf game like that is gonna be crazy
Worth mentioning in an event setting it might be easier for attendees to get an immersive and clear look at the game in vr, hard to get distracted
@@oxyfay yeah the main point of both HW being scary relies so much on the size and perspective that only vr offers
It's probably like resident evil 7, where it launched with the full game playable in vr, but it was made as a regular game

9:13
I mean, I played the Hello Neighbor VR game on the quest 3 and the controls seem fine enough, my only problem was my own inability to figure stuff out.
Haven’t all fnaf vr games been flatscreen and vr? The only difference is flatscreen coming after the main release and not at the same time
@@jay7art132 The first Help Wanted was only VR when it came out but it eventually did get a non-VR version.
The problem with this is we know the costume is female plus the voicelines are feminine it’s name is also literally Jackie lol
1979
Ennard is 100% an entirely different character from Jackie, the ONLY similarity is the mask :V
I'm not going to complain, Steel Wool cook for VR games therefore this being VR supported gives me hope this WON'T end up like SB dev cycle.
to me that description sounds like the gameplay described is more akin to like Borderlands 2 VR or Resident Evil 7 VR where it is a fully featured game with VR added after.
Resident Evil 7 is a good comparison for something like this, a normal game with a VR mode being optional
So i have faith that it'll turn out alright, RE7 is really fun in VR and both HW 1&2 are as well
Uhyeah, tell me you haven’t played Resident Evil 7 VR without telling me you haven’t played Resident Evil 7 VR.
Nothing like an uhyeah gaming video getting released while in the middle of eating dinner (also I’m sippin on starry)
10:03 I'm most surprised that Fredbear's Family Diner existed in the 70's and wasn't started in the 80's with all of the Animatronics and whatnot
This games nothing like helpwanted 2 I don’t see it being a dlc to fnaf help wanted 2🤷♂️
It couldnt have been a dlc to hw 2. The game takes place half a century earlier and the story talks about an entirely different topic.
It's a flat game first and foremost that's Vr compatible they showed the VR gameplay first as a way to say "f*ck you" to the leakers
The main concept of the game is way to disconnected from what we’ve seen so far to be “dlc”
I mena steel wool was originally a VR game company so i think it makes sense for there to be a VR option. And honestly the trailer to me really doesnt scream that it isnt VR
Bro hates fun

I can imagine cranking the box manually in VR and just holding a button on flatscreen
Absolutely loving the love VR is getting recently!
I know you said you have no interest in it but if you knew the state of VR games then i'm sure you wouldn't be saying that. No the FNaF VR games arent a good tell of what vr is like today, they play more like arcade machines than VR games
If you want some recommendations id suggest looking at Walking Dead Saints and Sinners, its got some of the most in-depth scavenging, crafting, and combat mechanics in any game period, and its the scariest game i've ever played (i've played all the fnaf games and TJOC)

It has genuine reason here and has had hints from fnaf vr 1
It may not take place in just the toy factory
EDIT!!, it might not be a toy factory and rather just full on mascot and prop factory by faz ent
Possible that it still was a toy factory but judging by recent stuff it’s not specifically toys.
a factory just makes sense as that's were the mimic was left before Faz Ent put it in the pizzaplex and seeing as how Jackie doesn't have legs its probably The Mimic because The Mimic didn't have legs until the 2nd set of Faz Ent workers sent to retreive him gave them to him
It's not a toy factory it's a factory for faz ent carnival
Jackie reminds me of Coils the clown from Jump for tickets the Fazbear frights story
