Ryan Kobayashi deserved better than to die looking for his daughter that seemingly didn't give a crap about him. I was trying to think of what I would do if I was in Hannah's situation but I simply wouldn't be. This shit is evil and I hate it here.
Seems to me like this was cooked up by Pidgeon and hannah, that's why pidgeon kept telling people not to look into the father and to keep looking for hannah. Id bet anything if the police looked at her phone, they would have seen she was in contact with hannah the whole time. That's how she was able to just fly on down to mexico and magically find her. They probably decided it had gotten out of hand. Why they did it might be clout like kirsche said, or maybe she genuinely wanted to take off with the scammer and enlisted her aunt as co-conspirator.

The aunt is the lynchpin to this whole thing. Going to wildly speculate here, but calling it now that the aunt killed the dad. He with family and friends went to LA to look for Kobayashi, they probably split up to find clues. He talked with someone who saw the person Kobayashi left with and the description probably fit the aunt. The aunt knew Kobayashi wasn't really missing so just hung out in a rental car at the carpark The dad tried to confront her about wtf was going on. Afraid he would rat her out to the family and ruin her plans she or someone else involved with her plans (the ex?) knock him out and tossed him off the carpark. What I want to know is what the aunt was trying to gain from all this. Maybe it really was just for social media clout since she was one of those influencers. I also think it's possible she wanted some of that gofundme money. Kobayashi probably went along with the aunt's plan for her own gains, but when she found out the dad was suicided she wanted out. Also, the discrepancies between what the LAPD, news, and family said all makes sense if it's true that the aunt was the one everyone outside the family was getting info from, which also means she legit thought Kobayashi was 23.
A local news station in Hawaii gave an update about 3 days ago, stating that Hannah contacted her sister and told her she's safe and doesn't want to return home. The news station also reported that Hannah went into Mexico through a border crossing.
Forgive me for jumping to conclusions, but that sounds like she may be held against her will, and is being forced to tell a relative so law enforcement won't treat this as a missing persons/kidnapping/human trafficking case
There's too many missing pieces to this puzzle. Father reportedly died from multiple blunt force trauma and ruled a self-deletion, even though just days prior he was actively searching for his daughter. Her family acting strangely to his death. Missing person seemingly went off course by her own decision, yet it also seems like she was forced to do so. All of this doesn't add up.
This is 100% a coverup. Some shit's going on. One day, people'll get sick of this nonsense and go after those truly responsible for such reprehensible nonsense.
Dude… wtf is going on? What are official agencies capable of if not knowing a damn thing and being unable to do proper investigations? Never in my years have I seen such ineptitude. Here's the best I can piece together (spoilers) Hanna meets the Argentinian guy in Hawaii, starts giving him money and filling out the green card paperwork. Somewhere along here she breaks up with her boyfriend because she's going after the Argentinian guy. I suspect at this point the aunt knew what was going on to some degree but didn't tell the rest of the family and maybe even helped set up the fight to visit her in NY as cover for Hannah to elope. That's why the family is saying they feel betrayed now. So Hannah takes the flight, goes radio silence while messing around in LA for a couple days for some reason rather than going with the Argentinian guy that was apparently also on the fight. The dad, his friend, and eventually the aunt show up to help search and the dad mysteriously dies. Meanwhile Hannah eventually makes her way to Mexico and then the aunt comes down to meet her there. There's still a lot that doesn't add up. Kirshe's on to something that maybe the aunt convinced her to do this whole thing as a stunt. It could be that the dad was just so distraught because the aunt and Hannah didn't tell him anything, but if we're dragging in Mexico and sketchy Argentinian connections I wonder if they're involved. Or if he was getting close and the aunt was there with him, maybe she gave him a push.
I think the fathers death is related to the marriage scam. It seems strange to me that the FBI is involved for a single green card scam. I’m willing to bet the police w/ FBI involvement purposefully misreported the death so the “killer,” who fleed south of the border, thinks they can come back eventually.
This story is so convoluted, it feels like AI wrote it. Kobayashi apparently yapping about the matrix in the beginning makes this even more surreal. Whatever is going on, I’d imagine she was on drugs at some point. None of this makes any feasible sense.
The "listening to people trauma dumping" is not that weird to me. This has happened to me before and a lot of the time you don't really know how to react, at least the first few times it happens. You don't want to be rude to someone who's obviously going through it at the moment and it's also a very surreal experience so you can sort of get stun locked by it. And then the "conversation" has already gone on for a minute or two and by the time you think about saying something, it's kind of too late. Plus, if I'm waiting for the bus and don't have anything to do and the person isn't being weird (aside from the trauma dumping, obviously) or rude I don't mind listening to people vent.
