    I felt like in the 6 of earth the human is bringing the whole lot of fruits to the squirrel, not just giving one but all of them.

    Thanks Lisa, I love your walkthroughs! I am fortunate to have all three decks in my collection. I personally love the Hermit as a monkey, my take in it is to calm the monkey mind in solitude and meditation.

    I believe the animals you had trouble with were a baby Tapir and Harpy Eagle. It was a Cicada not a fly in the oracle deck....Great review!

    I have both of these decks, and at first glance through i thought they were going to be a dissapointment. Then i started reading with them, and they absolutely sing (to me)!
    Some of the cards that you were questioning are made clearer in the guidebook if you read the whole thing - this deck has an "each suit tells a story" thing going on, loosely. Most (though not all) of the cards make more sense in that context.
    The oracle guidebook peotry reads to me like it was written in English by someone for whom English is not their first language. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, i just think that's why it feels awkward to read. (I imagine if i wrote poetry in French it would feel similarly.) But, i have to say that in the context of readings, i find the poetry brilliant. A single line or stanza will jump out at me, offering intensely relevant and novel insight iinto an interpretation that brings depth and clarity to the reading, like BAM!
    The decks were expensive, but i absolutely love them.

    "Tree remembers" probably derives from the saying, "The axe forgets; the tree remembers". It is sad but true, that the ones who dole out the hurt are quick to forget, but those who were hurt are will always carry the scars. Like the tree, we can keep on growing, but when we look closely, there is always a mark left behind.

    I think the animal in the the 9 of swords might be a tapir. I have heard that in eastern mythology they are associated with dreams and nightmares so maybe that was what the artist was going for.

    I'm finding this video very late, but that Judgement card immediately made me think of the story of Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. It's about self-actualization and person growth and freedom.

    It was so good to hear your take on these. Overall feels like you have lukewarm feelings. My take? I have both and love them. The tarot is a total hug deck for me and the animals comforted me during difficult times. I have some connections to the animals themselves and see the story attached there.
    The oracle is really inspiring. Mostly for the artwork although I do love the keywords and phrases. I wrote my own poem with inspiration from The Tree Remembers. ❤❤❤

    What a great walk through! The devil card makes sense to me, as they are all spiders, and the jumping spiders can easily get away, but do they know it? 😊 I agree with you on most of your "no" pile. Justice makes me think of earth and air in balance. The tarot deck is very pretty and sweet but is too "young" for me. I love the borderless border on this deck.
    It didn't seem to me that the oracle guidebook really tells any oracles, but most oracle decks disappoint me. 😂
    Thank you for your transparency and honesty in this walk through. ❤️🃏🕯❤️

    It is so funny. The critique you gave for the Wild Child Tarot is more or less the critique I had for the Healing Waves Tarot! I didn't buy the Healing Waves Tarot because of my feelings but have now ordered the Wild Child Tarot (and I can't wait!)
    I think I personally can connect way better to the Wild Child Tarot (I don't live near the ocean and have a stronger connection to the animals depicted in the wild child)
    I admit the Judgement card threw me off at first... but I learned with a deck where judgement was called 'Karma' and in the realm of nature you are in the food chain and even as a human being we don't know when our end is coming as well and even in a religious sense it makes sense... our existence is only important because of an ending... it brings an other realm into play at least and make us think and reflect...
    It was very interesting to hear your thoughts... they activated somehow mine: ^^°
    6 of water: the bunnies are memories... if you want to catch one they run away... it is more of a bittersweet nostalgia there (or Alice in Wonderland feeling)
    3 of wands: she is hesitant if she wants the eagle to set flight... if she should now embark on the journey or wait some more
    5 of earth: the little deer is lost, but the trees will grow again (new life after disaster) and maybe from the bottom of the card the mother is already coming
    7 o water: maybe more a time aspect... for wich idea is the time ripe

    Really enjoyed your "test" readings at the end! The oracle reminds me quite a bit of Roots and Wings actually (maybe a potential "this or that" pair- up?) I'd definitely be more tempted by the oracle if the price wasn't so prohibitive! Thanks for the honest review!

    Thanks, Lisa. I think I'm realizing, though I love to look through a beautiful animal deck, it takes a kind of translation of what's going on with the animals to the human experience that really just gets in the way for me. Wish the 5 of Pents had an animal that climbs among the fallen trees (like a squirrel or monkey) rather than a deer. Judgement is like the fish are going to die, but not everybody believes dying ends up in ascension, so I'd like a better representation of judgement. Pretty tarot but do I really need another pretty animal deck?

    I would have liked The Wild Child Oracle but $70 for so few cards!?!? Not even free shipping. If this went mass market for $30-$35, that feels like a fair price for me. I pulled out on backing the Healing Waves which I regret and ended buying it at a high price but this oracle is almost half of what I paid for the OOP Healing Waves. I’m definitely not a Tevada fan with every deck I buy from them nearing $100. I’ll have to pass on these. So happy you did this walkthru. Thank you 🙏

  • @fantasiaandtarot2021

    As for the oracle... I wasn't too impressed at first too but for me they worked really well, with or without guidebook. My mother tongue is clearly not english - so I don't see little awkwardnesses there. It gives you many ways on catching up on one line or a word...
    crescent: cycles, time and its specific qualities (also in the roses) what is dear to you at which given time (also little Prince vibes for me)
    flight: the boy startles the birds (we all did this when were young) but it is an interesting one
    rainbow: our chakras, all our chakras are maybe also one chakra (remembers me of the pink floyd album cover
    Your reading with the deck: The Tree Remembers
    You are the tree... because of your attachement to the Healing Waves you are not open to the Wild child... (the decks are defending themselves ;) )
    But I think you don't need to have an attachement if you don't want that. I kind of regret that I didn't buy the Healing Waves but maybe for me this is maybe better so... because the Wild Child is more meant to be for me ^^°

    Ok, I love that the empress is a Cow, I love that she has a flower crown and she looks just majestic. My mums favourite animal is the cow 🐮 and that empress card right away made me think of my mum, which made me smile. I am with you on the spiders Lisa, I’m not a fan of spiders either. I love that the queen of Earth is a Doe with her Fawn, deers are one of my spirit animals because of their gentle nature, my other spirit animals are the tortoise because of their wise and introverted nature and the sheep because of their gentle docile nature as well as their innocence and their nurturing energy.

    I think this would have been a good pip deck, the majors could have been in that more elaborate style and then the pips could have featured suit animals, it feels a little like getting consistency over 56 cards with clear meanings was a big task here.

    According to Ancient Egyptian mythology, after the death of the body, everyone had to pass through the Hall of Judgment, where a person's heart was weighed on a scale against Ma'at's feather of truth. If the deceased person's heart balanced with Ma'at's feather, they could continue their journey to the Afterlife.

    The tarot box cover & the oracle cards artwork reminded me of Alodia Yap's artwork in Morning Calm Oracle (Seo Kelleher), which is a favorite oracle deck for me. Watercolor art usually appeals to me. The Tarot deck fell flat for me. But in contrast the oracle deck's art evoked a lot of feelings. I very much liked the book and it's meanings. It is out of stock, which actually is a relief. My oracle deck collection is out of control. In the long run I probably would have stuck with my Morning Calm Oracle anyway.

    I have all 3 of these decks and I love them all. I am viewing the wildchild oracle & tarot through a childrens story lens.. so for instance Echo reminds me of The Velveteen Rabbit, the moment the rabbit becomes real and is reflecting back on being a toy and remembering wanting to be real one day so you have those echos from the past.. while I view the Reflection card from the Trumpet of the Swan or the Ugly Duckling, where the reflection color isn't what is actually happening or the reminder of are we actually seeing ourselves for who we truly are vs what we project to the world outwardly. The guidebooks kinda disappoint me from this author but I absolutely love their artwork and I love how bendy the cardstock is. I'm using these mostly for inner child healing :)

    I love the artwork of these decks! However, I won’t be adding them to my collection even if they become available. I had a chance a little while back to purchase a copy of the tarot deck but had to pass on it for financial reasons. I am now very glad I did. The tarot deck does not excite me the way the Healing Waves does. I agreed with you on many (if not all) of the cards that seem to be a bit of a miss. I tried for example to see how I would read the Wheel card by leaning into different meanings for each color, but that seemed incomplete. That 5 of Earth gutted me because it only shows the suffering. ☹ The 6 of Earth would have worked if she was leaning down towards the squirrel as if she was about to offer some fruit. Instead, it feels like “I see you, you are cute, but these are mine.” Anyway, on to the oracle. Again, love the artwork but the titles/keywords mashup doesn’t work for me and neither does the shape/size. Also, the lack of animal identification in the book bums me. If either of these decks were to come out mass market, I would probably snatch them up because they are beautiful. However, the aesthetics of these decks aren’t enough for me to break my wallet. Thank you for another great walkthrough/first impressions video. These videos are extremely helpful to me. 😊

    That judgement feels a little Old Testament because those fishies are definitely about to become dinner. I suppose the fish are entering a new experience, but I don’t think becoming food is levelling up. I would be so discomforted if I got that card in a reading!
    The tarot deck makes me SO sad, it’s my favourite artistic aesthetic I’ve ever seen, and the most clear animal deck I’ve seen. But a few of those cards…. I’m bummed lol.

  • @Tarot.Destiny
    @Tarot.Destiny Рік тому

    I love this artists work. The watercolors are absolutely beautiful. With that being said, I don’t think I’ll be purchasing either of these decks. Some cards really don’t resonate with me. On oracle decks I like at least one keyword besides a title advising the animal on the card. I guess I could write some on each card. The decks are expensive, anything with Tevada is overpriced I think. The card stock also seemed to be very buttery. I do like the Healing Waves Tarot over the Wild Child. 💜💜💜

      @Lisa_Papez  Рік тому +2

      I'm a little baffled as to how anything I said in this video could be construed as harsh or give you the impression I have an issue with the creator? 😕 I love this creator's work and worked very closely with them on their first campaign, the Healing Waves Tarot to do everything I could to ensure its success. First impressions are absolutely subjective and I always share my authentic impressions as I go through decks. My subjective experience is absolutely no reflection on the objective value or quality of a deck I share and I thought I made that abundantly clear in this video. While, yes, there were a few sticking points for me, I also admitted that I may simply be biased because I love their other deck so much, so I'm a little confused by your comment, tbh.

      Well first I was kidding... About the beef...
      Cuz you know very well your opinion counts tremendously.
      We all really like you. Honestly it felt harsh. Absolutely no judgement... Maybe I was taking it personally. if I made a deck for you to review, is have been devastated 😂.
      But again I would not. Cuz this is a harsh business. And you better be up to it.
      🙏 This was not a judgement honestly.

    • @Lisa_Papez
      @Lisa_Papez  Рік тому +1

      Aww :( Well, I certainly wouldn't want anyone to feel devastated, but I'm not sure that first impressions would have much value if i didn't talk about the stuff that doesn't work for me as well as the stuff that does. It's a tightrope walk, sometimes, but I try to always keep it constructive and kind, even when something doesn't work for me personally.
