Remember when we thought red dots in the EIGHTIES were bad? This video inspired me to try out Cold War again after my disappointment with Vanguard.
I believe red dots on firearms were made a thing in late 1970s. Red Dots in 80s still makes sense compare to red dots on firearms in late 1930s to 45
At first cold war gets trashed because of the downgrade but then after vanguard was released everyone will forgive cold war for harsh words

What really sucks about CW weapons is that most of them have no unique attachments to make them interesting or worthwhile using. Like no grenade launcher for the Xm4 and M16, really?
Underbarrel launchers aren't really coming along with CW pace of gameplay.

Treyarch has kinda been the anti noob tube CoD developer since BO3. If you want extra explosives, you have to use an RPG.
really nothing unique about all them fancy attachments, except for a few like the heartbeat sensor. how about just enjoying how the gun feels, sounds and looks? that lever action shotgun is super unique

I loved use the Milano in the Open Beta. But once I got Dark Aether unlocked; I never touched it again.
They really missed the opportunity to add the experimental Russian bullpups. The TKB 408 in the tactical rifle class, TKB 022pm in SMG and TKB 059 in LMG (I know both are ARs but that’s realistically how treyarch would categorize them).
Yep, same as TKB 011 and TKB 022PM for BO1 too. Both games have a huge amount of anachronistic and inappropriate weapons + equipment.

Treyarch fumbled that twice now. Same in black ops 1. So many weird 50s/60s era soviet weapons they could have used but instead decided to arm the soviet forces with late 1970s/1980s era western European weapons such as the famas and steyr Aug.
The 059 has triple barrel's like Duke Nukem's machine gun did. They dropped the ball on that one.

You're not wrong but what doesn't get taken into account is that weapons like the Makarov or the 1911 or the mp5 are licensed owned weapons so even if a title like call of duty wanted a m4a1 they would have to go through companies like colt, go through a contract/fee and stay within the limitations agreed to whatever weapon they agreed upon. That or design a original weapon influenced by the style of the desired weapon. Much akin to cosmetics like adding scream or Rambo they still have to go though whoever holds the license to whatever product they want to implement

The ITA Brust is the PG Breda M1935 and the Ratt or whatever it was, was the TT-33 and so on... I mean I understand for some licensing but come on.... they couldn't even add in Cold War the Makarov or even the CZ or the Browing... just the M1911. Russians using M1911 in 1986 (or..idk I forgot the year it took place...)
What's odd is that the weapon is already modeled in the game. From certain parts of the campaign, some Park outfits and in Portnova's SIGINT outfit she has the Makarov.

In the Open beta(s) the game’s looks, animations and feel were beautiful . That’s what made me get the game. They dumbed it down so much in the final product for no good reason. I also don’t like how their were 10 ARs, 11 SMGs, FIVE TACTICAL RIFLES, FOUR LMGS, AND FOUR SNIPERS. There are so many weapons I wish were added but weren’t. Still love the game other than the SBMM

The iron sights on many of the weapons are just comedic
I wish they'd stop using "Tactical Rifles," seeing as it's a non-existent classification, and start using "Marksman Rifles" or even "Battle Rifles" which are real, even if the latter's a bit dated.
I think even "Battle Rifles" is a stupid term used by people. I should be either rifle or assault rifle.

Because I'm not. In the first MW Russian army was still using original AKs and never heard about camouflage pattern on their uniforms.

That's an Ithaca M37. It loads and ejects from the bottom, so even if it does eject, we can't see it anyway.

nice variety but man, some of these new guns have a lot of errors. why bother having a shotgun with external hammers if you're not gonna show them fall separately? and just about everything is wrong with that PM-63.
What's even more frustrating is that they got the Marshall right in WZ

For me, the most disappointing weapon was the KSP.
Because aesthetically and mechanically, it reminded me so much of the GKS; and I absolutely loved that gun.
But in game? Even if it was a burst fire - like the GKS's Operator Mod - I didn't grow attached to it.
Not to mention the fact that it's a butchered UMP. I tried one recently in COD Mobile.
Well, don’t hate the KSP, it was an amazing gun. Hate the gun that started the burst SMG trend: the. Chicom.

Amidst the other bizarre things, I couldn’t help but wonder:
Why are we back to misaligning the iron sights on SOME guns? Y’all have already went and made the rear sight wide as theoretically possible. Even going as far as widening the sight AND misaligning it too.
Man, these animations are extremely lifeless. The gun immediately returns to its original place after every shot, the recoil does barely anything to the person holding it. It's also sad how a cold war game is missing several iconic weapons of the era. The only thing here I felt had more "organic" movement was the M79.
IS true. I remember old cod4, cod mw2, mw3, animations was incredible. For me, the bestest animation now have the insurgency sandstorm game
I know what you mean by the “organic” movement. After MW 2019, the reloads were more tactical, true to real life, but with cods before that each weapon had its own unique reload, even if it was reused throughout the games (ie AK, M16, etc). I like those unique ones better. They didnt feel so… robotic like the cods of today

This game actually gets the spas 12 reload right. You need to hold the gun upside down, and also press the bolt release in order to load shells.

cold war's campaign had more interesting set pieces than modern warfare to be honest, and vanguard is just vanguard. But modern warfare's execution, and it feels like it just has more passion makes it better than cold war in almost every way. What can I say, infinity ward just does it best. But you're entitled to your own opinion.

For all of mw2019s strengths with the animations, the game plays like ass and cold war plays way better. How a game plays is way more important than how realistic an animation is IMO
Fun fact the barrette 50 cal in modern warfare multiplayer has a echo when fired the echo go on for 10 20 seconds neat detail!

I honestly thing the cold war guns aren't that bad, generally speaking. But I wish they made like a bo1 gun sound pack for the sounds it would be awesome. And I only have 1 real gripe is they made the Aug Burt's fire and a tact rifle, personally it should've been an assault rifle. Full auto like bo1
Idc what people say about Cold War, I genuinely love taking some time in-between rounds on zombies to inspect the guns. The little details on guns like the 1911, or the AK-47 just make me feel giddy inside. Especially on guns with unique attributes like the UGR and it’s firing mechanism
So no one is gonna talk about how the pm63 RAK(AMD63) fires from a closed bolt, despite firing from an open bolt being one of the defining features of the real one.

If your wondering why there are two M16s, it's because the A1 was still being used by the Army and other special forces til 1986. The A2 wasn't adopted until 1983 and it was only in use by the Marine Corps. A lot of people think the Barrett was used in the early 80s. It wasn't, only designed, and it didn't see its first military adoption til 1989 with the Swiss. While the Remington 700 is accurate, the PSS variant they use in game isn't as that wasn't released til 1986. The Penn Arms Striker didn't exist til 1989, the TEC-9 didn't really exist until the 90s, and the AK 5 (which was based on the FNC) did not exist til 1986. Also the Brits had moved on from the EM-2 prototype and had moved on to BO1's XL60 prototype. As for the AKs, the AKM was still being used yes but had mostly been replaced by the AK-74 by the time the 80s rolled around, and the RPD was LONG since replaced by the RPK by then. If your gonna early 80s, do it right.

The M82 should be replaced by Dragunov SVD since there are no Soviet snipers.

I hate Cold War with all my heart but I gotta give then props with the Carv.2 because it's actually a pretty sick concept gun based off the M41-A from Alien.
It looks like a G11 with down syndrome. Like the person saw a picture of the G11 once and tried recreating it in the game but had no idea how it worked so made it a regular bullpup rifle

I've played Mw2019 and cold war but I enjoyed much more playing cold war than Mw2019. It's not the best game ever it have flaws don't get me wrong but core gameplay is way to fun unlike semi realistic mw2019

Honestly both Vanguard and Cold war wasn’t a bad game, it was surrounded with imbalance compatibility and overpriced transactions but if we’re talking pure enjoyment, its really a fun game, and i feel like this implies with all call of duty but this is what i feel
Vanguard is a bad game because it was just a copy paste of mw19 with ww2 settings while cold war was a underrated game .
For a game made by a AAA studio the gunfire really lacks punch
Its done on purpose to streamline gameplay. They don't want guns being too loud so it drowns out every other sound in the game. I get what you mean though, but it's just how it is. Also why recoil is so minimal in these games

@@papopleto Half of the tactics in CSGO or older CSs where the AK sounded even better come from listening. A bunch of guns in CS are pretty loud and noticeable from parts far away from the map.
