I tried to stay off the brakes as much as possible, and only brake before turns so I could be off the brakes when cornering for maximum traction. Coming to a stop at the end would have heated them up for sure though!
I love ripping on my road bike too! I got up to about 55mph on "The Toilet Bowl" on the Jasper to Banff highway...a 360 degree bank corner with a ripping descent...at 7am before the traffic starts! Gotta trust your bike!!
You probably dont care but does any of you know a method to get back into an instagram account? I was stupid forgot the password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Asa Jefferson Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Geez. Just watching you do turns at this speed with those bald road tires keeps me on edge. I am never going to do this. Also how destroyed were your brakes after this.
Brakes were all good, hydraulic road disc brakes make it way safer! These are Kenda's best road tires, and are wide for road bike tires too, so the traction was pretty good really. Still gotta be on your game though!
Oh alright. I’ve never ridden a road bike so I don’t know what the tires are like and all that. And from mountain bikes I know that when you bomb a hill your brakes get pretty heated up.
I’m usually riding in the dirt, but it’s winter now and I’m riding my vintage racer a bit more. I went down a huge hill once when I was going for a 20 mile ride. I had strava on and it said I went 47! Didn’t know the 70s Elswick Stag had it in it. 😂
Thanks! It's called Pine Canyon and starts in Midway. The gate is closed until Memorial Day weekend usually. The snow is melted off pretty high as of right now. Be careful when you do it!!!
I once hit 49mph coming down Monte Cristo (just a little North of Guardsmans pass). Started to get the high speed wobbles so I had to slow it down. Of course it was not a closed course so I had to worry about cars as well as wildlife. Ragnar relay calls that stretch of Guardsmans pass “puke hill”.
Yeah it can get scary quick at those speeds, speed wobbles sound terrifying! I'd say Ragnar did a good job with the naming, it's so steep for so long, although I haven't puked on it yet!
Start out with a hardtail, it's the most affordable way to get a decent bike, and it'll teach you how to ride smooth! Then when you get into it more you can upgrade to a full suspension!
Ok. Three things. 1... what? No manual? 2. I wanna see this descent from an aerial perspective. Drone up brother! 3. Still. Where’s the manual? Looks like Such a fun set of turns!
Haha good points there, I definitely should have at least rode a wheelie on the way up the hill, and I definitely should have followed with a drone! Maybe next year??
Those discs must have been burning hot at the end of that run 🔥

Makes sense. Great video and ride 👍🏻
Highway speed down a slightly wet road... what could go wrong?
Nothing could possibly go wrong! hahaha!
Just a cheese grated knee and three hospital trips
Wait aren't highway speeds 70-85
Wont lie I was incredibly surprised he didnt wash out on some of those turns
@@firebro74 60 is generally considered highway speed.
I’m not even into road bikes but that was knarly
Shmerick L there were consequences involved, that’s for sure!
*gnarly
We need to get a trail that runs along the side of the road :)
Russell Stevens that would be amazing!!! Bike paths everywhere would solve the car problem!

Whoa that sounds awesome! The never-ending turn, just trusting those tires!!
That climb blows! Hahaha. Way to "Keep er safe" while hitting a mellow 63 mph.
Haha yeah, safe is a relative term here! Yes, that climb is always brutal!
Super cool man. I might need to call Brad at Diamondback and get myself a rode bike after watching this.
Lifted Adventures this is a mountain bikers road bike too, you can ride anywhere on it
@@PorterMTB ok I'll be checking out for sure then
Glad you got home safe? Cheers!
thetalkingfly it was an amazing trip, I can’t wait to tell you about it!

@Asa Jefferson It worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my account!
Love you videos!! Thanks for posting so awesome content!! I love the pump track at the end!!
Thanks, I'm trying! The pumptrack was super fun, smooth enough for a road bike!
I’ve done this road on my mountain bike. Super close to wrecking.
Eric you owned that road
Him: goes 60 mph, “that wasn’t that fast!”
Me: goes 10 mph “holy rap I was speeding like crazy!”
Thanks Eric for my first like!
Woohoo. Very Nice. Back in 2001 I did 66 mph on my Jekyll 700 coming down Tram Road in Palm Springs Ca.
That's fast!!!!
Always love your vids Eric
Darren Ng thanks! I really appreciate it!

Eric you got this!
JJ_ Tran07 👊
Looks great for DH skating as well!

yes , yes ! my kinda ride , love it !
Awesome!!!
Hi, excellent video, I live in slc and I would like to know where is this route located and where can I park my car if I wanna start it. Thank you!!

Eric you the best
George Cowley thanks George!!
I want to get into downhill mtb, I'm saving up for a bike but I just don't know what bike and how to start, could you help me with advice?
Get the men's gravel bike from Huffy at Walmart.
Start out with a hardtail, it's the most affordable way to get a decent bike, and it'll teach you how to ride smooth! Then when you get into it more you can upgrade to a full suspension!
@@cycologist7069 Haha that should do it!
Loving this channel.
That's awesome to hear, it's hard work but I'm having a blast putting these together!
Nice landscape, hill looks Easy!
Haha that hill is brutal! Hardest climb in the Tour of Utah road race!
Hey! What size haanjo do you ride? Also what is your wheel setup? I assume it’s not the stock 37s that it comes with...
I don’t like riding on roads and watching videos about it but this video was good
Does it feel sketchier doing that on that bike vs a mtb? Can't imagine hitting a pothole with those skinny tires at 40+ mph
Was this the same hill you rode down with Seth in the hard tail video?
wow just wow
Wow, that is absolutely terrifying! haha
Haha yeah it's fast!
wow Eric that was so fast is that your bike
That's my bike!
I got to 33 mph on an mtb down a half mile hill and that was amazing (my mtb is like 33 pounds)
That's fast!
Do you run flats on your road bike ?
No, I run clipless on the road bike, on my mountain bike as well for big rides!
Porter MTB 🤘🤘
Ok. Three things. 1... what? No manual? 2. I wanna see this descent from an aerial perspective. Drone up brother! 3. Still. Where’s the manual? Looks like Such a fun set of turns!

I bombed the hill in Duluth, MN and got to bout 50mph scariest thing ever. Road biking is just to freaking scary for me. That why I mainly ride MTB!
this man’s veins. sheeesh
Dude that is insane, I'd love to ride with you sometime ;)
I think I need a road bike now
They can be really fun, you don't have to shave your legs and wear spandex either!
Could you ride valley vista soon
That was awesome
That was friggin messed up and road biking is friggin scary good job tho
Hahaha thanks! You definitely can't crash going that fast.
Looks cool, even if it is on a road bike 😁.
Haha yeah you have to make it exciting, otherwise it’s just a road bike!
I would be too scared to do that
Cole's Mountain Biking oh yeah it’s terrifying, ask Seth about it!!
I saw the video where you did a manual down the road
First
And I'm second
Jeff Lenosky Nailed it! 😂
Lifted Adventures well done 👌
I bombed down empire pass on my mountain bike starting at Montage DV.. I guess I did about 45 mph.
Try using 25 or 28 c tires
and i thought Waterfall Hill (RNP) top to bottom was quick.
You should get a sport bike and see what 110 feels like going through a turn, haha would definitely make you really confident on the pedal bike
Haha I would love to, I really want track time on a sport bike!
Right now I can’t even ride my bike because is crashed on a fire road bomb and had to get 16 stitches in my knee!
Whoa! Glad you're ok, I've definitely been there!
It's so much fun to bomb Hills I went down a hill with 67 km/h
Awesome video by the way 🤘🔥💪
MTB Rider that’s awesome! Yeah it’s the best part of road riding!
I came here for the manuals?!?!
I know!! I should have put in a good road bike manual, I love those!
No gloves is super keen at that speed. In a worst case scenario, I'd love to keep my palms on my hands.
If your max speed was 63 mph how come the average speed was only like 8mph
2:16 #Jacked
Haha I think that's from splitting all my own firewood all winter!
Not sure I agree with that speed on Strava down that road.
ITS OVER NINE THOUSAND!
I did another reference. (Thinks about themselves disappointed)
didn't you say your worst injuries were by bombing dirt roads? i think this would be even more dangerous lol
Ryan West haha this is pavement though! But yes, if I crashed going this fast I’m in big trouble, I try to keep it well within the limits!
Funny how biking is better and safer without cars and driving is better and safer with out bikes...
That's for sure, we need more bike paths!
Danng the fasted I’ve ever gone is 51
That's fast too!!
I broke my clavicle at 32 mp/h last summer, if you fall at this speed you will be dead. Twice.
That's fast! Definitely can't crash going 60mph.
cars contact patch: III
motorcycles contact pacth:I
your contact patch: ,
so sketch i cant belive u lean so much into the turns
Why wear the helmet, you wore no gloves and if you crashed your body would be worthless. Might as well destroy the whole package Mr.
