I was learning Japanese in Highschool and found the pronounciation and Hiragana easy. Katakana was a little confusing.. ( I still remember a lot of it, despite not using it for years) I really struggled with the sentence structure and katakana/kanji. I'm trying to learn Korean, and I find the pronounciation difficult. Hangyul is ok, but a little confusing. I'm pretty sure Japanese and Korean sentence structures are the same? (if so, I'm going to be struggling again) whereas when I was doing a little bit of German, I found the sentences were almost the same as English just with gendered differences, and the alphabet is basically the same. I feel like everyone struggles with different parts of languages, and it really depends on what your first language is.
As someone who’s learning Korean, here’s my personal suggestion: Learn the vowels and consonants first. Korean characters are made up of a simple set of sounds and they’re relatively easy to memorize. Once you have that down, you can pretty much read and write the language. The next part is learning phrases, which I do with self studying and flash cards (you can also learn with professional language apps such as lingodeer for more accuracy, cause there’s the formal vs informal system). Since you’ll already know how to read Korean, memorizing these phrases should be relatively easy. Especially if you begin picking up patterns, like 나는 (informal)/저는 (formal) meaning “I am” and how they’re used in sentences. Make sure to also immerse yourself in it. A lot of people say to watch kdramas or listen to Kpop songs to help, and while it certainly does, it’s not just about listening- it’s also about paying attention to how words are used. Another good idea is finding someone who knows Korean and learn some of the language from them, even get direct assistance for pronunciation or grammar. Up front interaction is always a good thing with learning a new language because it puts you in more realistic scenarios. Lastly, the internet in this case is your friend. Despite the false information all over it, if you want to know something like “is this formal or informal”, honorifics, and other stuff, searching online isn’t a bad option. So good luck to anyone who wants to attempt Korean, and remember to be patient, because learning anything takes time. Btw, if you guys want some free online course material, I’d suggest TTMIK (Talk To Me In Korean). It’s pretty specific and explains everything through pdf, podcast, and UA-cam videos. One final addition (this is getting pretty long lol), if you want an interactive app, since it may be hard to find someone fluent in Korean to talk with, I recommend Teuida. It also has guided lessons and is really good at honing your pronunciation, not to mention it puts you in real life scenarios. Unfortunately, it does require payment, so that option is also kind of barred.

Omggg this reminds me so much of Harry styles cuz he talks pretty slow and hence tends to talk around the question like he literally talks about everything BUT the question XD this reminded me of him so much its cute 😂❤
@@spring7643 I think he might be an ENFJ like Chan. I think both ENFPs and ENFJs can ramble about things cause they start thinking really deeply about it.
His whole point is: Self acceptance. Its ok to be a bit slower or not learning things fast like some people do. Just let it be and get into the flow with yourself. You somehow will find your own way to get things done
I love how much he seems to respect his sister and values her insight and opinions as a means for himself to grow... too many people accidently (myself included) just dismiss it and roll their eyes at older siblings so called "nagging", Felix is awesome
He isnt a typical sibling to his family. His family is so supportive and he isnt the kind of sibling who naggs to his older or younger siblings all the time. His family is truly an angel to him and was definitely raised correctly
I can relate to Felix on such a personal level. I grew up learning really slow and other kids would make fun of me. So I thought I was stupid and didn’t apply myself in school. Then my dad told me it’s not about the speed in which you learn, but the effort you take to learn it. So from there I decided to work hard and be patient with myself and now I enjoy school. Basically the moral of the story is everyone learns at different speeds and just because it takes you longer it doesn’t mean you are dumb. Humans are all different in our own way so that’s what makes us unique
Your dad's words are so beautiful and encouraging. If you don't mind, I want to try to remember those words whenever I feel down about myself and want to give up. I know it's definitely words that I wish I heard when I was in school
It's better to be a slow learner because you have more patience when things are hard. If you usually pick things up quickly, you don't know to handle difficulties in learning. That was my experience when it came to advanced math (calculus, etc.) It was very difficult having to work so hard because I'd never had to before.
This was the first video I ever watched of Felix (or any skz memeber). The first time I watched it was in December 2021 when I first started learning Korean and looked up tips. I had no idea that he was a part of a group or anythin, but two months later, I'm a stay lollll
It's better to learn correctly.... If we learn a choreography wrongly and practice the wrong one then it's hard to change it to the correct one- same with language and other things too 😀 Or it will waste even more time correcting the wrong part we learned
@@multistan4408 hmm but some idols/dancers actually learn the dance in short time with details like Lee Know 😀 Both are good, people should do what they feel like, they should not hurry/slow down for others who actually don't care (ppl like haters/anti/anyone who says it negetively) 😀
He's a perfectionist, is basically what he's saying. maybe no one will read this but I'm learning korean by myself for 4 months now and this is my personal tip that I wish everybody would know: MAKE A LEARNING PLAN, I'm not talking goals I'm talking sitting down and writing what you're going to study every day of the week, just like in a school, you NEED to follow a schedule or you will get lost and frustrated (or even give up). Also, don't forget that learning a language, or whatever is hard and takes time, effort and energy, but knowing where when and how to do it makes it, not easier, but less complicated and even fun! Every time something clicks for me when I'm reading or listening to Korean I can't stop smiling, the feeling is just everything, so go for it, fighting!
as someone who's been learning for about 6 months now (including my 4 month long break) this was great advice!! i don't have much time daily but this sounds like it could work, thank you :D
I've actually made little homework sheets for myself and I'm surprised by how well it works for ME, personally. Korean is the only language I've loved learning so far, even in my own broken way

He is absolutely correct. He is really well and soft spoken. We all start somewhere and everyone have different learning paces. Some are slow and some are fast. We should never rush through the process and work at the pace that is best for us. Gradually, it will all start to get better. Plus, learning languages or learning such stuff is never easy so we need patience and consistency to make progress. It will take long but it will happen if we work for it. I am 12 and starting to learn Korean. It is obviously hard but fun at the same time BECAUSE I am taking it slow and enjoying the process. Learning should always be fun.

so true, he's repeating the same words. trying not to make a mistake , not getting ti the point at the end of the day but I understand what he's trying to say. The whole conversation ends at " Don't rush learn at your pace, don't compare yourself to your friends or anyone because at the end of the day, you'll achieve what you want".

HIS TIP WAS TO TRY TO TALK A LOT AND LEARN STUFF YOU WOULD USE TO COMMUNICATE RATHER THAN JUST TEXTBOOKS ALL THE TIME ALSO ASK NATIVE SPEAKERS FOR HELP IF YOU DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY SAID. ALSO TO JUST TRY TO SPEAK EVEN WHEN MAKING MISTAKES :)
Actually learning Korean would be super beneficial as a Stay because I noticed so many interviews and videos with stray kids are misinterpreted and there are so many good jokes by members that never get translated😅 and there are soo many amazing UA-cam content on stray kids in Korean that are not available in English
Felix studied Korean so hard... I still member Felix was struggling with speaking Korean in 2017 and 2018, but now he speaks like a native speaker🥺🥺🥺 I'm so proud of him, and he gives me a lot of courage🥰
Hearing Felix talk about how to learn a language or anything in general can be difficult and saying that it's okay to be a slow learner and do things your own pace is very comforting. I understand what he's saying and it does help to accept that not everything will be easy and it's okay to take things slow when you can
I love how positive he is. If were with my sister, she would say "you're stupid" or "poor you" or in a joking way😅 vice versa i do it to them too. So 50/50 i guess🤣 and I couldn't stop listening to felix voice😍
you know, there are idols that you love, that you respect as a professionals, that you have a crush on, but there are also idols, that you just genuinely want to be friends with. felix is that one idol for me. it seems like he has a habit of making things deep, i have that habit too, and it feels like if we started a conversation, it would've lasted for days with breaks only for lunch and toilet lol. exactly the type of friend that i've always dreamt of, but never had. don't take anything of what i wrote seriously, just sharing my thoughts
He definitely sits in the shower for an hour and just thinks, because he gave a long drawn out answer 😭😭 and I listened to all 3 minutes and 24 seconds of it because I am currently learning Korean and needed a fellow non-native speaker to give tips on it!
I said something similar to a comment that Felix said. I think I said "Felix any tips on/for learning Korean?". Then I left a couple mins after that. But then again someone might've said the same thing
I'm a slow learner and it's mainly when it comes down to basic knowledge like math or stuff like that. With choreo, it's easy to memorise it but remembering it is harder. They are training pretty often for comebacks, so I don't think he has any problems with that.
I thought korean was easy at the start... now i am two years, two levels into it and it'getting more and more difficult to keep up with major studying and driving learning are piling up And the thing is Felix is incredible example of a person WHO DID THIS🎉 being in much more stressful situation. So I'm not gonna give up on my korean, even if speaking fluently will take years!!!
Omg everything that he said really hit home, slow learner, confidence, embarrassment, comparing myself to others. I have always felt stress whenever I notice I’m behind, but after listening to him, I’m definitely taking his words into consideration and be more patient with myself.
That’s actually a good point “excepting you’re a slow learner” I’m not learning korean but I think this will help me learning math since im really bad at it and get anxiety from it..
I feel the same way towards math, and I wish I could offer some advice for dealing with it, but unfortunately I cannot. Just know that there is someone out here that believes in you! Just remember to breathe whenever you start to feel the anxiety set in
Felix is for sure that one person u can sit down and talk to and he will listen attentively and give either the best or worst advice, but in his case it would definitely be the best advice. This is one of the reasons I love him. ❤
I appreciate that he talks about being a slow learner. I love learning, but I am also a very slow learner and can only (truly) learn one thing at a time.
Being a slow learner is okay! I was a slow learner too, which is why I got HORRIBLE grades in math in high school. Once I got to college (where we weren’t tested every chapter, but twice a semester instead), I aced the tests. In high school I wasn’t understanding the material until we moved on to the next chapter! He can be a slow learner all day long…it’s not like that impacts his stage performance - what makes Felix special is his dedication, his natural talent and his charisma.
As someone who is currently learning Korean, something I’d recommend is 100% to FIRSTLY, learn the alphabet (한글) Hangul is VERY easy to learn and is definitely one of the most important things in Korean. Next, I’d recommend that you start learning some common words. For example: “안녕/안녕하세요/ 안녕하십니까” Which mean hello, or thank you, which is “감사합니다/고마워/고마워요/고맙습니다”etc. Remember to learn not just one specific formality, because all of them will be VERY IMPORTANT. Keep in mind that Korean isn’t easy, but when you think about it, every language isn’t going to be easy. I think of learning Korean as walking up on a staircase-each step is something new you accomplished. Also, one thing you need to keep in mind of is Koreans grammar order. In English, it goes in while in Korean it goes in the order. So if you were to say - “I love you” it would be in order like “I you love”. Some things that I recommend you to use is an app called “HiNative”. This app really goes for any language you’re trying to learn, whether it’s Japanese, English, Korean, and so on, it’s really useful for me. You can ask NATIVES questions about Korean and they’ll help you-whether it’s about translating something, asking for a native to recorrect your sentence you wrote, or even trying to figure out if your pronunciation is good, you can learn a lot! I find it to be the most effective way that I have learned Korean among all the apps I’ve tried. I also suggest that you use “Teuida” which helps with your pronunciation, and in my opinion it’s very fun to use! One other thing I’d like to say is that when you’re deciding on why you’re learning Korean, or any language in general, in order to enjoy learning a language, you need to want to learn it. Because if you’re learning it without any desire to do so, you’re not going to go anywhere. Learn a language because you want to. Usually when I lose motivation, I think about times where I felt proud of myself for learning something, like the time I got a sentence correct, or when I spelled something right, those moments make me feel like I have taken one step further in learning Korean, and in order to feel that proudness again, I need to learn more. I find myself actually looking forward to learning Korean, which I haven’t felt before when learning a lot of languages. So one thing that speeds up the process in my opinion is just plainly having that desire to learn. To anyone who is learning Korean, you’ve got this! I hope that you’ll someday become fluent! And just know that we are in this together! 화이팅! 🤗🌷
it takes me forever to learn things like choreography :') it makes me feel better to hear that being slow doesn't mean you can't be good at something if you approach it the right way for your brain, and show yourself compassion

i'm an avid language learner myself, and this is one of the most valuable and yet underappreciated tips in language learning tips videos that are so common. our attitute towards our target language is way more important that "studying 30 minutes a day" or some set in stone goal like that. it's an arduous but satisfying process. not getting ahead of yourself is really important.

Thanks that was a really good tip!! Felix focused more on the mind set which wasn’t what I expect 😅

Thankyou a lot this is a good tip and is helpfull

Listening to him is so calming and feels like a safe place
Yes I agree, but it is a little weird.
@@bonsonfamily5810 Why tho?
@Lele ღ Maybe it’s been a while since they’ve heard him talk in English? Or the way he’s talking? Not sure lol
I love how he forgot to tell the tips instead got so caught up in encouraging pple to take their time to learn whatever they are trying to learn and giving us confidence in being slow
Our precious Felix! I am so glad his sister is able to help him change how he thinks about himself!!! I'm a slow learner as well and it's good for me to hear this advice from him!
I was glad to hear tips from him because I am slow learner myself
And I overthink on everything
I'm so sorry I really admire what he said but he basically talked about everything except the main question lmao
He does that and I love it lol so cute
Lmao
He did?! 😲😅
Han once said that Felix is the kid who learned Korean correctly... 😁
what does he mean by that.
@@tsuyuasui7297 probably something like he didn’t rush into it so now he speaks a more grammatically correct korean than most people. Someone (I think Chan) also said he carefully chooses his words instead of going for the gist of it, and Felix will leave them all baffled at the width of his vocabulary
Omggg this reminds me so much of Harry styles cuz he talks pretty slow and hence tends to talk around the question like he literally talks about everything BUT the question XD this reminded me of him so much its cute 😂❤
OMGG no wonder the way he talked felt so familiar 😂
No shit~! 😂😂
But Felix doesn't often does this....maybe he just forgot the question and was talking everything but that😂
Is he an ENFP?
Felix is an ENFP
@@spring7643 I think he might be an ENFJ like Chan. I think both ENFPs and ENFJs can ramble about things cause they start thinking really deeply about it.
YES so true, it really reminded me of Harry
His whole point is:
Self acceptance.
His family is truly an angel to him and was definitely raised correctly
as a korean, im already very fluent but im just here to learn even more and look at felixs face-
Changing your mindset I here you my guy! Whew I could listen to this man talk all day bless him.
I know it's definitely words that I wish I heard when I was in school
beautifully said! your dad is amazing, all parents should teach this kinda mentality to kids. you can be proud of yourself.

I had no idea that he was a part of a group or anythin, but two months later, I'm a stay lollll
haha welcome to the fandom :)
It's better to learn correctly.... If we learn a choreography wrongly and practice the wrong one then it's hard to change it to the correct one- same with language and other things too 😀
Or it will waste even more time correcting the wrong part we learned
@@multistan4408 hmm but some idols/dancers actually learn the dance in short time with details like Lee Know 😀
Both are good, people should do what they feel like, they should not hurry/slow down for others who actually don't care (ppl like haters/anti/anyone who says it negetively) 😀
He's a perfectionist, is basically what he's saying. I struggle with the same problem, and I have to remind myself everyday to not take everything so personally and be kinder to myself, to allow room for me to breathe. I've still not quite managed that, but I hope I can grow together with Felix and Skz
His English sounds so beautiful...
His deep voice makes me really sleepy 😴💜
Me be like : 🙄🙄🙄Wdym...lol
Is the first idol I see that he tooks the time to really talk to his fans and get deep and raw with his thoughts, he is so genuine
I can't explain but whenever I look at felix I feel like his eyes are telling a story, the way he smiles, it makes me feel like I'd want to listen to his story. I wonder what felix went through, he seems so genuinely kind hearted and I want him to know he is being supported by many many people, I hope he does what makes him happy, and I hope he isn't afraid to be himself because he has a beautiful soul and he's super talented in everything he does. felix you are amazing ♥
it's been a while since i've heard him speak english for this long, he rarely goes live but i really do appreciate whenever he does go live because i know he's really self-conscious and i just hope he isn't too hard on himself. i think it's fine to go slower because he improved so well in just a few years, he's really admirable :)
reframing your thinking can do wonders for many things! so nice of his sister to help him gain confidence in himself (also love that she also studies psychology i love it ^^)
Agreed.
maybe no one will read this but I'm learning korean by myself for 4 months now and this is my personal tip that I wish everybody would know: MAKE A LEARNING PLAN, I'm not talking goals I'm talking sitting down and writing what you're going to study every day of the week, just like in a school, you NEED to follow a schedule or you will get lost and frustrated (or even give up). Also, don't forget that learning a language, or whatever is hard and takes time, effort and energy, but knowing where when and how to do it makes it, not easier, but less complicated and even fun! Every time something clicks for me when I'm reading or listening to Korean I can't stop smiling, the feeling is just everything, so go for it, fighting!
thank you!! you really helped me, now i’m motivated to learn korean :)
as someone who's been learning for about 6 months now (including my 4 month long break) this was great advice!! i don't have much time daily but this sounds like it could work, thank you :D
I feel the same when I understand a sentence in Korean, I feel so happy and even makes realize why do I like to learn the language.
I've actually made little homework sheets for myself and I'm surprised by how well it works for ME, personally. Korean is the only language I've loved learning so far, even in my own broken way
I didn't expect such lengthy answer lol.I was learning Korean as well but whenever ppl ask me how is it learning korean,I would reply 'Yes ReLaTiVeLy'.It is indeed really easy to get started with Korean but once you explore further into it there should be some yaknowww trickyyy.
his smile is so pretty
He is absolutely correct. He is really well and soft spoken. We all start somewhere and everyone have different learning paces. Some are slow and some are fast. We should never rush through the process and work at the pace that is best for us. Gradually, it will all start to get better. Plus, learning languages or learning such stuff is never easy so we need patience and consistency to make progress. It will take long but it will happen if we work for it. I am 12 and starting to learn Korean. It is obviously hard but fun at the same time BECAUSE I am taking it slow and enjoying the process. Learning should always be fun.
“Slow learner “ BRO U LEARNED IT IN 8 MONTHS??? WTFFF HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE
i love the way explained it, the way he’s deep thinking! i could listen to him talk all day long
he makes me feel so safe
1:57 why is that "becOz" so satisfying👀👄👀
definitely felt this as a neurodivergent person who is also a massive perfectionist 😩 i really think felix has a big heart and im glad he has such a good support system with his family esp with his sister ! accepting and acknowledging the fact that youre a slow learner is 100% a step forward in improving since u find out what would be more helpful in academics (teaching styles, visual learner or auditory learner, etc.) so im super proud of him
so true, he's repeating the same words. trying not to make a mistake , not getting ti the point at the end of the day but I understand what he's trying to say. The whole conversation ends at " Don't rush learn at your pace, don't compare yourself to your friends or anyone because at the end of the day, you'll achieve what you want".
I like it how felix is introspective and honest with us 😭✨
I think accepting yourself for your abilities is the first step to any journey ❤
i showed my sister this and she said “he’s a virgo” 😂
How precious Felix is 🥺... His presence, aura, and the way he talks is just so natural and brings me happiness.. I wish you would always appreciate your self my dear boy 🤍🤍🤍🤍
He over thinks a lot LOL
I miss him talking with his Aussie accent ❤️
For searching of learning Korean I forgot that deepest ,coolest voice in kpop
Relatable af ....I'm also a slowlearner and yess accepting that u have Ur own pace really helps, schooling systems have made everything a competition ...cuz In the end u'll make it✌️
agree on this!!!

But like... What's the tip? Oh Felix 😂
He did mention tips but it's further down, the part was not included in this video.
@@mmjaye1 oh okay, thank you!
Watch the whole vlive stop complaining
@@SVT_X_SKZ firstly, I am not complaining.
Secondly, no need to be rude.
Thirdly, the video is misleading, that's why some people think this was his whole answer and don't expect a more detailed one from the whole vlive
I could hear him talking all day in that English accent and I won’t even be bored.
Australian accent
God I'm just here admiring his beauty. How can someone be this pretty
Felix studied Korean so hard... I still member Felix was struggling with speaking Korean in 2017 and 2018, but now he speaks like a native speaker🥺🥺🥺 I'm so proud of him, and he gives me a lot of courage🥰
he's not a slow learner, he's a deep learner.
His confidence and beauty be 💫blooming💫
He is the type of person that when you ask how's their day his answer is the story of his whole life
Hearing Felix talk about how to learn a language or anything in general can be difficult and saying that it's okay to be a slow learner and do things your own pace is very comforting.
I Adore him sooo much he surely thinks deep and says wise stuff
I said something similar to a comment that Felix said. I think I said "Felix any tips on/for learning Korean?". Then I left a couple mins after that. But then again someone might've said the same thing
Your username🤣🤣🤣
I asked something similar too but not worded the same way. Probably several people asked something similar. I love his answer ❤️

Same T_T
I'm a slow learner and it's mainly when it comes down to basic knowledge like math or stuff like that. With choreo, it's easy to memorise it but remembering it is harder. They are training pretty often for comebacks, so I don't think he has any problems with that.

Thank you Lixie...I think you really gave many Stays so much peace after this. I know I do 😊
"because i don't know"
wise words by Felix
He gave us a piece of really helpful advice on learning or starting to learn anything that it all starts from accepting ourselves as who we are.
I thought korean was easy at the start... now i am two years, two levels into it and it'getting more and more difficult to keep up with major studying and driving learning are piling up
And the thing is Felix is incredible example of a person WHO DID THIS🎉 being in much more stressful situation.
Just remember to breathe whenever you start to feel the anxiety set in
@@Raven_Nivhaar you’re so sweet thank u 🥺

Felix is for sure that one person u can sit down and talk to and he will listen attentively and give either the best or worst advice, but in his case it would definitely be the best advice. This is one of the reasons I love him. ❤
He remind me when the YG’s conversation asked him “how old are”😁
I appreciate that he talks about being a slow learner. I love learning, but I am also a very slow learner and can only (truly) learn one thing at a time.
His voice!!!!!! I love it!!!
no one:
lix every 5 secs: i am a slow learner
he’s so cute😭 but same i am a slow learner too it takes time for me to finally realize something💀
He’s such a sweet cupcake
He is sooo handsome without makeup 😭😭I don't like when they put a lot of makeup on him😔handsome boy 🥰😍i love him
Being a slow learner is okay!
I just asked if u were cold…I didn’t ask for ur whole life story
Felix is so endearing and vulnerable. I just want to put him on a crystal jar and protect it 🥹
i dont even like kpop but this man lives in my recs and i love him sm he seems so sweet
He said slow learner 20 times and I loved it.
His sister is so caring... Family plays a big part... Love him so much. ❤
If you want to learn a language fast 1. practice 2. live in a country that speaks the language you want to learn

i'm an avid language learner myself, and this is one of the most valuable and yet underappreciated tips in language learning tips videos that are so common. our attitute towards our target language is way more important that "studying 30 minutes a day" or some set in stone goal like that. it's an arduous but satisfying process. not getting ahead of yourself is really important.
