Since the pandemic started in 2020 I needed something to keep me busy so I started getting serious about bird watching. Then I decided I needed a camera and zoom lens and so I got into photography. Never knew birds could be so expensive! I have enjoyed your videos and have learned quite a lot. I hope all is well with you and at some point you start posting some new videos. Thanks for all the work you put into these.

Hi Tim, It was great to watch & learn from your videos, for me as a nature lover trying to get the hang of photography. They were beautiful & really enjoyed them but you must be having your reasons to change path.
A big Thank you from me & our wishes ! Hope to follow you on Insta.

I did however just read a suggestion from a friend on Flickr. He uses Topaz AI Denoiser to get more clean images. There's a free evaluation version of it. I cannot use it myself because I'm on ChromeOS (with Android support).

I attended Tim’s workshop here in San Diego last January, just before Covid hit. Would like to know he’s okay myself.

      Hi Michael
Yes I'm okay we're all heathy here. My mom had liver cancer so I spent most of my time with her this past year. Since she passed away in March I haven't done much but hopefully soon I'll feel like getting back into bird photography. I think you sent me some picture awhile ago, I'm sorry I didn't reply. Thanks for emailing I hope you're healthy and getting out to photograph some
      Best, Tim

@@GodwitMediaLLC Hey Tim - Glad to hear you’re doing okay. I lost my own mother towards the end of last year (you may recall my having to get back to her at the close of each shooting day), so please accept my condolences, as I have a fair sense of what you’re going through.
Yes, those were some of the photos from our shoot that I forwarded some months ago. If you ever have the time and inclination I’d definitely appreciate your feedback. As it happens I’ve been back to San Jacinto (both alone and with my brother and my mother before she passed) and La Jolla Cove several times over the past year. So yes, you made a bird photographer out of me, and as I work to improve it has definitely enriched my life. Thank you so much for that.

@@michaelhall2709 Hi, my sincere condolences to you as well. I remember you talking about your mom on the workshop, and admired that you were taking care of her. I will try to find those images today and see if I can offer any advice, and I'm happy to hear that you enjoy bird photography. The La Jolla area is also great for landscapes and a little south of where we were photographing the pelicans is a great sunset landscape location at medium to high tides. I'm thinking of the area where there is a cut or crevice in the rock that the waves come through. I'll go find those images now.
      Tim

@@michaelhall2709 I'm so sorry, I thought I did reply, but maybe I didn't, I don't know now. I did find some images from San Diego and thought I emailed a reply to you.
I haven't been out much and am not feeling very creative so haven't done much. While we're healthy at our house, we're also being very careful since 2 family members and passed away from covid.
I'll look for the images, I might still have the email you send. But, I'm okay and I hope you are too and things are going well for you.

@@TheNarrowbandChannelI attended Tim’s workshop here in San Diego, mostly enjoyed it, and came away with some bird photos that I actually think aren’t too bad. One night we were all eating dinner in a restaurant on Hotel Circle when we heard a news story about an odd flu epidemic in China, which seemed so remote to our own concerns that our first reaction was to ask Frank, a member of our group who was a German national who lived in Shanghai, what he planned to do if he couldn’t return home to run his business. Later, when it (of course) became clear that the United States wouldn’t be spared our own outbreak, I actually thought that mobilizing to deal with it might bring us together as a people; in retrospect I’m astonished by my own naïveté. So much has changed since then, and not for the better.
