I love how late 90s everything was so creatively stylish , the music , the cars , the Ideas of wealth were all just portrayed so much more richly exotic. It was like the excess peak of the Illusionary American Dream with the least amount of problems before the curtains pulled back the 00s. The Game Is an underrated gem that's very original.
watch modern indie films or art films. they don’t have such problems. like: Ex Machina, Parasite, The Lighthouse, Hereditary, Uncut Gems, Good Time, etc
The cards at 4:27 anticipate some of the things he will encounter in the game - he is confused, he will be attracted to a woman who is dangerous (Deborah Unger's character) and he will be in a car that is in a dangerous situation.
The scene where Michael Douglas and the blonde lady were in the parking garage and all the police and ambulance just disappeared creeped me out. Obviously without knowing the ending it's even scarier. So strange
We used to tease my friend because he wanted to have a life like the character Michael Douglas portrays as a big shot. I guess Wall Street and this film inspired him because hes a very succesful wealthy hedge fund finance guy nowadays.
Good for him! But back then the regulations were less strict and the bonuses were bigger so working on Wall Street nowadays is not the same as in the 90s. It’s still a job with a lot of prestige tho and you still make a shit ton of money tho just not as much as in the 90s. Working at a hedgefund is really interesting tho and prestigious as well.
This movie is a masterpiece
It really isn't. It's good, but I would never take it that far.
You have good taste
So true. My secret number one!
.. and not a single person get killed!

This is such an astute comment, you’ve hit the nail right on the head.

Such an underrated film.
Everything about it is underrated, except for the blonde that Douglas' character gets involved with. She's overrated.
Because movies that make you think are often overlooked, Matrix was prime example
@@NextSound170 Matrix was a blockbuster , everybody went to the theatre to watch that In 99'.
Its not underrated. It was rated so well it is in the criterion collection.
the ending was crazy
Always remember the "whoops" line even years later ... Lol
Reminds me of the police car driving off the road in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
I went to CRS last January, I’m still waiting to hear back.
One day your game will begin. You'll either love it or hate it. Decide then.
They denied your application?
RIP James Rebhorn
Great actor!
@@AstonishingSodApe He was. Real pro
Wow, my main vocation now is to come back to these gems I watched when I was In teens and rewatch with a new perspective 💙

The music is just heavenly

One of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen.
Period.
My favorite Fincher movie.

Reminds me of “The Parallax View” film testing montage
I just saw that movie and thought the same exact thing. Another great thriller.
James Rabhorn.. RIP
This is in my Top Ten movie list along with greats like Casablanca, The Deerhunter and Good Fella's.
That’s 3
I always wondered why he asked him to hold his Chinese food ?
I think he's trolling him slightly. Also the comment on his left brain, and signing in blood.
Best in Chinatown I heard
Part of the test Nicholas was bothered by the request, normal people wouldn't mind (unless allergies of course)
Great movie
I wish CRS was real, I need a shakeup in my life!
Great movie!
Nicholas Van Orton never.expected that...
Who rules the CRS?
You should know... your own brother x3
Why are the sensors on his shoulders?
What is name test ?
😒 I didn't consent to this shit..... Give me my reparations

He’s Dutch in this movie? 😂
Does anyone know what he says at 6:26? Sounds like “That’s right, you’re a left brain (…) fascist”
"you're a left-brained word fetishist"
"left brained word fetishist"
"Left brained word fetishist."
