- An interactive fantasy grimoire, this is a complete departure from my usual style of writing journal. I delved into the worlds of fantasy, myth and witchcraft. Much of the symbolism and references are very familiar to those into fantasy novels and video games. I used online items, The Witches Almanac and the book "Grimoire for the Green Witch" by Ann Moura to make it more "believable" Photos of witches on pinterest led me to create a fictional witch family who in the 1800's is sending Philomena off to witch academy with a family grimoire as a guide.
As a witch myself, this is an absolutely wonderful idea for children! Good idea for young witchlings to learn about the craft in a fun way!

My daughter (little witchling) took one look at this book and she loved it. If ever I have the time I'm going to make something like this (and hopefully finish before she's old enough to begin her own book of shadows. I love the idea of incorporating magnets and the herbs in the little pockets. Wow, you are a huge inspiration.

Illonas doll channel 007 suitable for ADULTS ONLY Thank you! I am a retired physician and really like reading medical history. So much of the early medical history is wrapped up in the Wiccan healers history. It’s how I jumped into this without really knowing what I was doing and without being Wiccan to have that history to rely upon.

Jody Jansa just thought about the fact that you may not have seen my alchemy journal. In that I used some graphics from Skye fire and these you just color in with colored pencils. It’s a way to decorate when you can’t draw. The link is below the video of the alchemy journal.

For pop ups I watched the Pop UP Channel here on UA-cam with Duncan Birmingham and I have the Carol Barton Books on Paper Engineering. Craftyirina has tutorials on all sorts of things like magnets and pockets. Dreamzetc. channel has interesting layouts and some tutorials. I hope this helps. @@melodymuir891 Nothing quite like this- did do some herbal books and an alchemy journal after watching A Discovery of Witches and starting alchemy research using textbooks recommended by Deborah Harkness. I use that journal for notes on my personal alchemy reading. Nerdforge on UA-cam has some nice grimoires.
This is beautiful. It gave me lots of ideas for my own grimoire. The use of magnets is very clever-and I love the seals, pockets, and handouts.

So very sweet of you- thank you! I read tons of Wiccan literature to try and be as authentic as possible even though to the family member this was for it is more fantasy/gamer oriented than real life.
I'd love to watch a step by step tutorial video on how you made all those beautiful pages.
That would be a veeerrrryy Looooong video! Basically I learned how to do layers and create pages in tutorials on thegraphicsfairy.com members site and went from there. Then it is a
matter of gathering images and putting them in sections for the book. Text blocks are layers so you can just type up what you want in something like word and then add them to pages
with cut and paste as you create. Layers lets you expand or contract a layer to fit the size pages you are going for.
On another note - there are now so many great wiccan artists creating grimoire pages you can download and personalize.

Skyfiregraphics- page decorations in black and white you can color
are some of my favorites.

Wow! What a neat, creative and fun thing to give the kiddos, grandkids, who ever might be interested in this kind of thing... your imagination is fantastic! Thank you for sharing this. Saving this for inspiration for my own grimoire. 😉😁.... oh and for the incense issue, there is loose powdery incense blends you can purchase. I have some from a shop I've purchased witchy items from on Etsy.com very pleased with the product and presentation/ packaging ( or could look up metaphysical shops in your area who might carry such an item) or make your very own out of dried herbs and blend or grind into a powder (can find tutorials on youtube for DIY loose incense). 😊 just FYI.

I loved all the ideas! The astrolabe, herbs in pouches (I have that in my grimoire too)! I loved how you did pockets for maps, the information about mythological creatures, oh! It's so cool!!! I wish I owed something like this when I was a child... who am I trying to fool? I wish I would have that book even now! It's really cool! You are very creative!

Thank you. Fun but exhausting deciding how to print all the pages in the correct order...so made a little mock up with numbered pages for a signature and then made a little note of what was on the page.

This is beyond precious!!! I love how it's different than other grimoires I've seen, despite it being more of a fantasy/role-play one, but still. The work you put into it is so plainly evident and I deeply enjoyed watching you share all of the pages and secrets within them. Also, upholstery leather scraps sounds like a genius plan :)

Thank you so much! I did enjoy the research and learning about grimoires in general. I have continued my reading. The current book I am reading goes back to the grimoires from King Solomon and sons of Noah. Learning about the early alchemists and their attempts to reconcile their philosophies with that of Christianity is fascinating as well. Of course religious tolerance was never there and that is sad. There are great reading lists by Deborah Harkness on all of these topics since it is her specialty as a history professor.
