John K Samson - Heart Of the Continent

John K Samson, Michael Feuerstack and Doug Friessen recorded "Heart of the Continent" for Pinball Sessions in Feb. 2013 at Folk Alliance International in Toronto.
This session was our first “pre-release”, after months of tight lips and cryptic postings, we presented these 3 songs for a week as a teaser back in April 2013. And now, for your ongoing listening pleasure, here it is. The session; stripped down versions of songs by the Canadian songwriter-poet whose most current LP, Provincial (ANTI) creates a lyrical portrait of the enigmatic roads of Manitoba.
Yet this is a different experience of the songs, rawer, simpler, intimate.
John K. Samson will take to the stage of the eagerly anticipated Sled Island festival in Calgary, AB. He joins the stellar lineup including Mac Demarco, Joel Plaskett, and Mount Eerie to name a few, (really). Might we warn, the inducement of swoons and sways is a likely consequence of this, the debut Pinball session. - Amanda Graham
