Something I forgot to mention is my attribute points. General rule of thumb is 350 dex, then get your desired Con value, then put the rest of the points in Int. Beginner: 350 Dex, 100 Con, Rest Int Intermediate: 350 Dex, 50 Con, Rest Int Advanced: 350 Dex, 0 Con, Rest Int
followed your guides for New World (pre aeternum). really liked playing rapier riposte, but the game felt dead. now it's being reborn, and I'm glad to follow your playstyle once again!
Been rapier/spear pretty much from launch but took a year away. Back trying to gear up and moving to evade rapier rather than bleed. Couple of questions. The boots look pretty good but that's a lot of stat points dropped from the Attuned Pants I've been wearing. Are they really worth the trade-off? Also, the spear. I never heavy attack on either weapon except to break shields. I know Coup de Grace follow-up is heavy but otherwise I'm 100% light. 5s of 15% weapon damage having to weave in a heavy attack doesn't seem worth it? Thanks for any input! tl;dr I must have watched you old riposte build vid a dozen times, esp the solo demon part at Myrk
Welcome back! The attuned leather pants are also a great option, but I believe you get slightly more damage with the winged leather shoes. The reason I use venom isn't necessarily to keep heavy attacking as I rarely do it. But there isn't a reason to not use venom since the spear is simply to apply buffs/debuffs and rapier is for damage. Being able to heavy attack and gain a bonus from that is simply nice to have. This is why with my lightning set I use Mjolnir instead of spear since that artifact's perk is much much strong. EDIT: You could alternatively not use venom and instead use a spear with Keenly Jagged/Enfeebling Skewer. Just to apply another bleed
@@Sutokid All the same perks, just using lightning harnessing on my armor, a lightning damage ring, and lightning runeglass to maximize the damage. The actual abilities you use on the warhammer aren't important, but shockwave, clearout, and armor breaker are the three I use. This build is great against ancient enemies (Lazarus, Starstone, Enead)
@@tundra_nw Makes sense! I guess the Venom thing bugs me more so because when I was playing bleed rapier I wouldn't camp it as hard as I do now with evade and being able to get evade/flurry back so quickly all the time. It's now more that I almost forget to swap to spear when before it was more like 60/40 rapier/spear. I think I'll go Venom. I have a spear with KJ/ES and Trenchant Crits. For all I use spear outside of the abilities I don't trip KJ that aften anyway. At least with Venom it'll be guaranteed 'free damage'. Thanks again.
@@tundra_nw afair it has been like this since AGS reworked all refreshing effects with cd (refreshing move, refreshing torrent, etc). This one doesn't have info in tooltip, but colldown is present in files. Sadly this is common thing that tooltips are not telling the truth :( At least Refreshing Strikes will still do work on up to 5 enemies at once
Bugged is probably not the word to describe it. Most players when they attack someone who procs riposte will have time to dodge before the riposte stuns them so I see what you're saying. This is mostly a pve focused guide, however when I do pvp with this build I use riposte during uncancellable animations or animations with enough endlag to force them to be stunned. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at this), AGS has made most abilities cancellable with a dodge so this rarely applies.
one thing i find it would/could be better if NW had the same with weapon switch as TL has you just switch automatically your weapon if you use the other weapons skill and dont have to do it manually.

Great video!. always love your content tundra
Fleeting Strikes has 0.1s activation cooldown, meaning it will not work on more than 1 enemy.
I don't see any mention of this on NWDB. Was this a change that I missed recently after it had been bugged about a year ago?

Is this build good for pvp?
It is definitely possible to play this build in pvp, but it's mainly a pve setup.
Riposte is bugged in PvP every decent player knows how to avoid it
