Wow, for 13 years i build a beautifull blackwhite Ghost Lector EBS Hardtail with 7,3kg. Manitou R7 MRD, Tune, Schmolke, FRM, Extralite, Charlimike, Formula R1 carbon, XTR etc. ..... But this is another Level i Love it! Thanks and stay light
@@mikemono disapoint? How? Is probably the best bike I have ever seen, I don't like flashy stuff at all, and that different shades of black and gray fits it amazingly well
That's what's up like the hopp xtr ....i have a17 lbs mtb...but no suspension no gears....and no carbon...except niner fork and seat...does have extralite ebone mrb crank...bike is a 2013 medium diamond back overdrive v...was 34 lbs. Stock..my fullies are 21 to 24 lbs. With droppers. Something like this I'm gonna do next..really like the hopp kit on the derailleur...
Can you explain what type of treatment you have done to the frame to make it look like this, I mean if you have used varnishes and resins to seal the carbon, etc.
This bike looks efficient, but is the 32T chainring enough on the road ? I want to upgrade from a rockrider, but using the 44/13 and 44/11 looks impossible nowadays right ?
congratulations for the video, I really enjoy seeing it, a spectacular montage, could you tell me what the model of the pedals is and if they have any modifications? Greetings and thanks in advance
Thank you! Yes, we know that. If Axel would have tuned it to the max it would have been 300-500g lighter but the invest would have been even more... Because he also wanted a beautiful bike (in his opinion) and decided to go for a absolutely not lightweight stem he left some grams here and there
When I have installed the Sidluxe shock while retaining the lockout I had to use shock hardware to move it over a couple mm so that the air valve doesn't hit the inside of the frame. It doesn't look like you did that here?
It’s a very nice bike. But i can’t understand why don’t use another sten and handlerbar. Darimo, for example. With stems in carbon in 80grms and hadlerbars in 90(in diferents sizes)
He did choose the syntsce stem bcs of the lower stem height (on the steering tube). Yeah at the handlebar he could have saved like 30 grams but the seatpost was already made with Bike Ahead. So he wanted to stay clean in terms of used brands
and the price? because spending a huge amount of money is easy. the feat is build one in 5300€ and 9kg like mine. why put this stem and handlenbar? is sponsored?
Seatpost was a bike Ahead so he tried to stick with it. He likes a low steering tube with a low stem clamp profile and a good - ° these are the reasons. Overall it would be around 15k €
I don't think that seat would work for xc for 99 percent of racers. They'd gladly put on another 200 grams just to have a little bottom comfort. On a build this light, thats nothing. And I don't think it's a seat found on ANY pro xc racer's bike. Am I wrong? I also wonder fi the rotors have enough surface area on them to be used on a pro's bike. Any pros using them?
You dont find this seat some where else bevause it does not fit to a lot of riders.i myself have one. I cant sit on it for a long time... For a pro that bike might is not suitable but for 99% of rider it would.
I'm looking at Bjorn saddle for mine but mainly as not light enough for Berk and Bjorn is nearly as light I believe but with 110kg or 120kg limit I think
I've always found it ridiculous how much some people worry about bike weight. Most lightweight parts come at the cost of comfort, performance and durability. You end up with a really lightweight bike but it will ride and feel far worse than its "normal" counterpart. I will always pick comfort and performance first. Saving a few pounds isn't worth it and a heavier bike makes you a stronger rider.
It is kinda an obsession. Some people do twice the everesting in one row. Some people ride a bike race for 3 weeks. It is not like he does care a lot about it. It is just great to see how much you can save and how cool it is to produce your own carbon parts. For me the lightweight is just a plus - the passion and time he invested in the handcrafted parts is priceless. Also, u can't make a fully uncomfortable... Maybe without a saddle but thats a different story 😁
I always wanted to side with practicality and mock the "weight weenies" but... when I finally hopped on my moms too small but ultra light hybrid bike and took it onto the grass and felt the feeling of pedaling once and accelerating and coasting up the hill as fast as I had to maintain power mashing cadence on my MTB to be going... I was HOOKED. There is a reason performance car builders strip a car down to the barest essentials and spare no expense on aftermarket lightweight replacements, it's incredible how the same powerplant with no mods becomes twice as sharp and agile, suddenly the stock motor no one cares about becomes white knuckled alive with only half the weight holding it back! It has complicated my search for my new bike. I was settled on 35+ pound alloy all mountain or enduro smashers before, but now I'm conflicted and also want a short travel rocket!
Thanks so much ☺️ I guess that's kinda the price you have to pay to have a light seatpost like this... Maybe with a gelu saddle and a Darimo seatpost you could achieve the same bit this saddle is alps not a beauty
From the beginning im so excited to see this bike to be built, and now its 🔥💥 so sick

That sounds super Sweet! Whats the price at the end?
Wow amazing bike, only two things I'd change and that's the saddle 🙈 and a tiny bit of colour, but otherwise an amazing bike. I love the Orbea OIZ
O GOSH WHEN HE STARTED SCRAPING, OMG... but the end result is somehow amazing, i love how it looks, it reminds me of pressed carbon fibre.
I'm happy that we did not disappoint you at the end

did you remove the paint and then did you give it a coat of clear polish?

This is a Mountainbike. Not a road bike. Its not meant to be ride fast on the road. Therefore you need to go much bigger at the front
Amazing bike, amazing job.
Admirable this work of art, hopefully one day have one.
Thank you for watching ♥
What MTB pedals were installed? I thought the Crankbrothers Egg Beater 11 were the lightest
this wheelset is amazing...
Looks amazing 🤩
awesome build/bike, great video!!
Thank you so much! I'm really happy that you like it 😊

These are exustar pedals I can’t recall the excact the mode. They are modified by Axel and not available anymore…
What stem did you use ? I cant see it on a list .
Whats the estimate price for this build?
Beautiful bike .
Around 15k € the stem is from syntace
Is it possible to buy only frame with dumper anywhere?
What size frame is this? How tall are you?
AMAZING !!!!!
Satisfying!
Amazing!!!❤
I have one… 10.8 kg size L… Amazing weight loss surgery!! Hehe!
wish all manufacturers will offer unpainted raw carbon option in future
Hi. Are the Fox shock bushings left or did you have to buy Rockshox? What size is needed for this frame? Well thank you
The frame takes a 190x40 or 190xx45 shock size
Front is 8x30 and rear is 8x22 and you can use fox bushings.
Very, very nice build! Any reason you didn't use berd spokes? As that would have saved about 100g
Thank you! Yes, we know that. If Axel would have tuned it to the max it would have been 300-500g lighter but the invest would have been even more... Because he also wanted a beautiful bike (in his opinion) and decided to go for a absolutely not lightweight stem he left some grams here and there

Hi. Are the Fox shock bushings left or did you have to buy Rockshox? What size is needed for this frame? well thank you
You need to remove a bit of the frame at this area. Just a little bit! That's what I can give you as an advise from AXEL who created the bike
It would be so beautiful if fork lowers looked like the frame
what brand is the carbon thru axle of the wheels?
Self made by Axel
which bottom bracket you used in this build ?
It’s a very nice bike. But i can’t understand why don’t use another sten and handlerbar. Darimo, for example. With stems in carbon in 80grms and hadlerbars in 90(in diferents sizes)

Axel S, bist du das? Gruß vom Klaus L aus Pfaffenweiler (ehemals Merzhausen)!
Stem and tyres are ultra heavy
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Is it possible to have build like that with pinion or rolhoff?
No way
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!!! This is lighter than most high end road bikes!!!
Axel is doing a great job here
A Gemini handlebar will be great!!
Congratulations for your bike, it looks amazing :)
Yeah! Definitely but the builder don't likes the look actually...
@@mikemono anyway, this build was awesome!

Tu bici debe de ser muy Buena!! que bacan tener una bici asi de Liviana 🙌🤩
Removing a nice paint to save 110g???
put a lighter stem and it was possible not to remove the paint from the frame
does scraping the paint void the factory warranty?
100% no warranty left! Every modification that is done, that isn't standard will annul the warranty
Super BIKE de locos… me podrías decir la marca de la potencia ??gracias
syntace flatforce 77mm
All that grease probably weighs more than the scraped paint😂
Top , 👏👏👏
Is scraping better than ordering it unpainted?
Yes unpainted still got like 40-50g of clear coat
what grease you use?
Beautiful work! What are those pedals?
Self modified Exustar 😊
What is the pris
ce at the end?
With the labour hours of Axel the bike is around 15.000€

120mm 😅

Que modelo de rodamientos y tapa de la dirección has usado ?
I hope I did get it right. These are Cane creek bearings.
