Mike Theiss of Ultimate Chase, Inc. films an amazing lightning storm in Wichita Falls, Texas. In 30 minutes this lightning storm struck the same set of TV Towers 8 times !!!!! The video shows all 8 lightning strikes slowed down so you can really see the lightning bolt.
Well, They have a good ground, because that light kept on blinking on the top. Awesome Video. Perfect example of what happens when you are the tallest thing in the area for a thunderstorm.
Greate capture, nice lightning strike .
Thanks for sharing this video with me !
I had rented a cabin on the brow in Mentone Al several years back. Late one of those evenings, a thunderstorm developed just north of the mountain and lasted for a couple of hours. There from the back porch deck overlooking the brow I got to see the storm at or below eye level from 1/4 mile to about 2 miles out. Each strike completely lit up the valley below for miles. Coolest thing I have ever seen...
I believe u......Some people say lighting never strikes twice in the same place but I myself have seen in strike more than 4 times when I was watching it on my front porch one summer.
Awesome video !
that tower is like a lightning magnet. It attracts all the lightning. Its like "hit me wit ur best shot!"
Whoa. That......was.........AMAZING!
Great video...thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you for the demonstration.
You nailed it. Good job!
lol..just as I'm done watching this video, I hear thunder in the back ground here at my house..lol That is some great video! Thanks for sharing! If we could only harness that power, we could solve our energy problems..lol Surprised the grounding wires aren't melted from that!
Looks Amazing...
That is one awesome storm! I wish we got them like that in England! I haven't seen a thunder storm for over a year!
That's so crazy man!! I know they put precautionary designs in place for this type thing when they construct these towers, but still makes you wonder how that doesn't completely destroy that tower and all the components it hosts....
Great vid!
You guys are so lucky to experience this kind of weather. When I grow up I want to be a meteorologist. I find weather as one of the earth's most fascinating features. :)
We share the exact same story. Just follow your passion, learn more about the weather, and you could be a meteorologist. NEVER GIVE UP
Same here! sadly I live in California and T-Storms are rare here... All we get is rain! And not that much either! Only about 35 inches :(
+Jacob Cibrian aww :(. I'm sorry. We don't get many storms here either. I just go on the Internet and TWC and learn stuff.
Supercellgaming Yeah I go on the internet all the time to learn about the weather...
Awesome video Mike!!! That storm was insane!!
beautiful!
THAT WAS INSANE!!
So who says lightning never strikes twice in the same place?! Great video!

Great vid!!!
if the positive charges on the ground are strong enough, the static from the storm can actually draw the current upwards before connecting to a negative charge in the storm, and so lightning occasionally appears to come from the ground in particularly violent storms like this one :)
I'm glad I don't live in a place where electrical storms generally occur even though they fascinate me along with tornadoes and hurricanes.
Channel 3 and Channel 6 towers on Seymour Highway. Always amazed how one strike triggers multiple others. The one that goes down past the top and then loops up is awesome. Back in the late 1970 s a bolt hit the side of channel 6 tower and set the fiberglass dome on KLUR antenna on fire. I was one of the engineers that had to climb up there to try to put it out!
Was that before the enormous tornado on Black Tuesday in 1979 or after?
1977....two years before "Terrible Tuesday"....(April 10,1979).
KLUR's transmitter was located at the base of KAUZ-TV tower. They had a (9 bay) "batwing" type antenna side mounted at about 1000 ft.
Amazing lightening strikes, man mother nature is so beautiful!
Wow!!.. master catch, Mike, is a beautiful sight :D
woowww I love the lightning !!!! amazing video !!
nice ground to cloud shots! Thanks for sharing!
i'm so deeply in love with thunderstorms. they r one of the absolutely best experiences you can have on earth ^^)
The street lights are like CAN YOU STOP SHUTTING US OFF ALREADY?!?!?!?!?!
Thats some severe weather in Texas. I actually had two thunderstorms here in Ireland just today, the first storm came at around 4:30PM and the second came at around 7:50PM.
do you have video without watermark? if you dont mind, I want to use it for my course project
Beautiful force of God! Awesome! Thanks
Lightning does not have a lot of distinct changes in noise. A thunderstorm recorded a year ago could sound identical to a thunderstorm that occurs tomorrow. Therefore, is tomorrow's storm real, or just replay sound?
It's so beautiful!
Thor is showing off. :-)
Eerily beautiful, isn't it? As long as you're someplace safe while it's going on.
Yes, when Thor demonstrates his strength and power it is beautiful. All of Midgard is safe when there is lightning, for we know Thor still guards us from the Jotun.
Lightning is an amazing sight to see.
WOW! What's amazing is that 5 of those 8 thunder bolts sounded exactly alike! I'm blind, so unless I knew this happened 8 times, I'd think you'd recorded the same sound over and over again! Hey, what TV channel was that anyway? Hahahaha.
this reminds me of that saying. how does it go? lightning never strikes the same place 9 times?
Saw some potential upward leaders with those strikes, No. 4 is an example- the lightning bolt on the right!
Far out!!!!! those are awesome but you don't wanna get hit by one
awesome
The thunder sounds the same for all the lightning strikes, could it be?
It's different. They are either bigger smaller or there are more "branches"
That was awesome, it's like a nuke going off except that was blue lightning
How can those lights on the mast still be working after that?
these guys are like the "surfer dudes" of storm chasers xD
Amazing
Tho i wonder why is the slide show necessary?
It depends on how close you are to the lightning. The farther away you are, the longer it takes to hear the thunder (because sound travels slower than light). If you're within about 300 feet of lightning, then you'll hear the thunder at the exact same time as when you see the lightning.
I can imagine the tower is like "ALRIGHT ALREADY"
@Rickey85 do you see the same lightning pattern everytime? No didnt think so.
that is so cool
I think that is really really pretty!!! :D
Thank you for the amazing video! It really is helpful. i have a science project to do and my topic is "can lightning strike the same place more than once" and your video helped answer the question. Thank you for sharing it. ^^
Was this all the one night?
some of them look like upward lightning..?
Wow this is amazing for me because I live in barbados and there is lightening and stuff but we rarely get the fort lightening
Thunder is so loud when you get close to lightning, I was 1 second away from lightning and the thunder is just really loud and I also felt like I was getting pushed by the thunder shockwave
isnt that because the top of some towers attract lightning? the myth is it never strikes twice in the exact same place(on the groud or not on one of those towers?)
I would imagine radio towers or radio antennas on tall buildings get hit ALL of the time.
Wow,......is there any words?
Amazing *-*
Awesome
Some of those are upward lightning, normally noticeable by the branching bolts dancing about. XD
#6 was a lightning strike that went from that cell tower way out in the distance into the sky
Wow, t.v. is good for something after all. God puts on a better show and won't strike us with lightning if we stay away from it. Thanks!
🤔Imagine Dragons gave me class in this. Thanks for the reminder Sir. Loki&Lucy4Light.
Nice video. Why do people feel the need for superfluous text? It's not as though we can't count now …
Pause at :53 its day time
Rashon Wilkins LOL
ha true lmao
Wwaaaaa
how can you tell it right on top of you
Actually maybe I do wish we got electrical storms more often.
Lightning never hits twice in the same spot.
Right.
where did this happen☺☺☺☺
Wichita Falls, Texas!
These lightning strikes look like upward strikes to me!
I saw a lightning strike that literally covered all of the sky that I could see. The following thunder sounded literally like a bomb
hey thats pretty good
I'm sorry. I don't dislike this, I just want it out of my feed. It is the ONLY thing that comes up first even after deleting it from my feed.
I think someone's found a way to harness and store lightning's energy. A strategically bent coat hanger at the very top did the trick.
Some mad genius in Wichita Falls has:
1.) A very fast electric car, or
2.) A Delorean that requires 1.21 Gigawatts (they can't wait to go on vacation), or
3.) No electric bills to worry about, OR
4.) All of the above
Oh dude in the name of ALL nature lovers, why on earth didn't you let the camera roll and let us hear those awesome thunders! You know that a thunderstorm is just not the same as a storm without thunder in it...
Love it ^^
Wow very coooool
Freakin epic.
So shiney
great!!
The first few lightnings had a loop in one of them
the nr.8 was an upside-down lightning .. pretty rare
Are you related to a Davi Millsaps ?
you guys do know that all lightning travels from the ground up right?
Lol the radio tower is getting rekt
Prouddyyy YT lol
Lightning bolt # 8 was upward lightning (Ground to Cloud)
New sub 🚨. Loki👤🤘🏾.
Evil Doctor: YEEEES, THE POWER!!!
Awesome 3
#7 amazing
Man, that radio tower got creamed!
0:09 when you stop, u can see black light :O
Black light? That's an oximoron, isn't it? Did you mean "darkness"?
Nahh
@123123imlovinit when i went to New Mexico there was a bunch of lightning hitting a small area across the street of the hotel i was staying at. There was nothing but dirt but the lightning kept on striking the area for a few minutes over and over again.
I will be uploading them soon as i got both of them on film
Man I scaried my cosin to death he's like what the heck where's that coming from I'm scaried MOMMY HELP ME! Man that was funny
@paulbo1971 why do you think this is fake? It strike there 8 times!!!
nice !!!!! !!!
At lightning strike 7, the bolt to the right came from the ground!!
