K2 FIT 84 BOA Inline Skate Review

  • The K2 FIT 84 BOA inline skate comes equipped with magnificent ILQ-7 bearings. Unfortunately these beautiful bearings have been paired with shitsweak 80a hardness wheels which is a significant bummer. That's like putting mustard on french fries. It's just a sin.
    The K2 FIT 84 BOA inline skate is a decent deal. Not the best skate for your money but not the worst either.
    K2 FIT 84 BOA inline skate has an aluminum chassis which is a HUGE upgrade over the FIT 80 boa's plastic one.
    NOTE: I am NOT an affiliate and didn't get JACK SHIT for doing this review. I am just an independent inline skate enthusiast who would like to help as many people as I can get a great deal on rollerblades so they can get outside and be healthier by doing more cardio.
    Want to make sure I actually skate the hundreds of km's I say I do? You should! So many people are full of it. I gps every skate I do and upload them to Strava. You can find them all here: / strava

    I wish I would have watched this before getting this pair! Finding good asphalt-rated 85a or higher replacement wheels is tough. 80mm and lower wheels are plentiful. So are 90mm and up. For some reason 84mm is a total dead-zone when looking for firm replacements. My stock wheels were completely trashed in 2 weeks.

      Excellent point! I completely agree, it's nearly impossible to find good 84mm replacement wheels. I had a hard time finding good 100mm replacements this season even (for a reasonable cost). Thank you for this comment, very important for people considering models with this wheel size!!

      @@TheLastHonestInfluencer Reporting back after a few days of break-in. While the glide is good, that 86A hardness at this wheel size takes away a lot of the agility. It feels like a different skate for sure. Considering looking into 84As instead, but not sure how long they'd last at 200 lbs. with lots of carving.

      @@cobaltross9059 84a is still plenty hard, Ive gotten over 2,000km out of my K2's, and my Powerslide 84a's are wearing even better. I'm around 220 (maybe more!). The 85a's that came on my rollerblade 1003WD (supreme wheels) wore out super fast tho. Honestly I think it has more to do with the compound than the hardness rating.

    Another great review or, in my case, a lesson on rollerblades I never knew I wanted but most definitely do. Thanks for providing so much good info in an easily digestible format.

    Hey, do you think these fit tight or not (for people with wider feets) ? If you'd to compare them to shoes ... would you say they're adidas sport shoes (slimmer silhouette) or nike sport shoes (wider silhouette) ? :o

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  3 роки тому +1

      Hello! Being a person with wider feet also I have to say that K2 are not the most comfortable for me. Eventually they do mould to the shape of your foot a little bit in terms of width, but it usually take 20-30 skates of 1 hour long for this to happen (a long time!). They definitely fit more like Adidas shoes, that is exactly how I would say they are. I started ordering all my K2 skates half a size larger than my US shoe size and that helps a bit. If you are set on K2's this is what I would reccomend doing. That and switching out the insoles from day 1.
      If you have wider feet you might want to try the Macroblade line from Rollerblade. They fit exactly like Nike shoes (the brand of running shoe that fits me best). They have a bit wider toe box and require no break-in time.
      Hope that helps! Any other questions please feel free to ask. I hope you find a comfortable pair soon! -Jamie

    Eventually, when I have to get new wheels for these do they have to specifically be 84mm and 80A AND have ILQ7 bearings or is there a little wiggle room?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  3 роки тому +1

      Hi thanks for the comment and question! It can be quite a challenge finding quality replacement wheels. 80-84mm diameter will work. They can be any hardness you choose (but I would go with 82A or harder for pathways/pavement). Any bearings will work but ILQ7 are superior. Some replacement wheels require spacers but they are easy to buy and use, you just have to measure the inside of your skate chasis to find out the mm size. Hope that helps! Thanks for the comment and have a good one.

      Absolutely, you can get the 80mm rollerblade brand replacement wheels and bearings and they'll fit right in. I use those for the money they are decent and last a couple thousand kms if you rotate them

      K2 MEN'S F.I.T 90 BOA INLINE SKATES BLUE 137 euros (around 150 dollars)
      K2 MEN'S F.I.T. 84 PRO INLINE SKATES 107 euros (around 115 dollars)
      K2 MEN'S F.I.T 80 ALU INLINE SKATES 89 euros (around 100 dollars)
      I think this a great discount, now the question what should I get?

    and what do you think about Rollerblade MACROBLADE 84 BOA ?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  Рік тому +2

      Great question!
      Macro blade 84 boa are just ok. Here’s why:
      Boa lacing systems are nice…convenient and about 20 seconds faster per skate than laces but I would say it all depends on price. The macro blade 80 are a phenomenal skate for the money and I’d have a hard time paying anything more than $50 just to get a BOA lace and wheels that are only 4mm larger.
      If the price is the same I’d get the 84 boa and then when it was time to replace the wheels I’d just put 80mm replacement wheels on them because they skate the same as 84mm and cost significantly less. Long answer to a short question!

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  2 роки тому

      Great question! I think they just meant the system constricts on your feet like a boa snake. The boa system is WAY better than the quick lace on their new models.
