I was ahead of my time and gave away my gigantic bread maker in August. The neighbours were thrilled to receive it and haven`t gotten around to trying it yet.
I've been going mad to buy a hurdy gurdy but lucky for my pocketbook all of the luthiers of ones I picked are either dead or retired. And, my roomates would have evicted me if I fired that thing up
Yeah! I was a music major and my school had a really good harp teacher, so I have several friends who play harp: Moriah, Tomoko, Jeff, Adrienne, Rachel, and the gal who plays in my community wind ensemble to name a few. Well, she's more of an acquaintance, but I was starting to befriend her because we often sat next to each other in rehearsal. Since we stopped rehearsing because of COVID, I haven't seen her and forgot her name. But they all drive vans because a lever harp won't fit in a car or SUV. Playing on a smaller harp won't allow them to play in all keys. A harpist is almost always expected to bring their instrument, unless they're traveling by plane. If that's the case, they usually contact the Lyon and Healy company--which is pretty much the only company to get them from in the US--and ask who in the area that they're visiting has a harp they can rent for the gig. My university does their graduation ceremonies at the Tacoma Dome, and the orchestra plays for it. Between our sound check and the call time, my harpist friend in the orchestra and I decided to hop in her van to go to the Tully's downtown and get coffee. Between the hills near the coffee shop, her terrible driving, and the smaller harp sliding around in the back of the van that normally was kept in place by the harp she had set up for the ceremony, it was by far the most terrifying coffee outing I have ever gone on in my life. Whenever I visit and stop by that particular Tully's, or if I ever see a white Dodge Caravan, I think of her.

I was already living on a budget before quarantine, so if anything lock down made me even more careful with my money, but I did set a bunch of goals for myself: "I'll finally get that stage play and novel done. Hell, I might even start outlining the second book in the series!" And now it's June of 2021 and I've spent most of my time here, on UA-cam.
I bought a pound of flour in the beginning of the shut down. Then I bought a plastic container to put said flour. Seven months later, that flour is still in its plastic coffin, slowly dying from neglect. What the eff was I even thinking?! 🤔 🙄

(It is, on the other hand, best to freeze wheat flour & cornmeal/ flour if it’s not going to used up completely within a month or so; it’s then still easy to use/ measure directly out of the freezer as needed.)

That Prebay service where something gets delivered, reboxed, and carried out was so on point it broke my brain. That’s how I see 95% of those monthly box rackets (stitchfix etc). Half that stuff should come with a garbage can manufactured around it to save you some time. Prebay reminded me exactly of recurring-charge companies, which seem almost as wasteful as a gambling addiction.
That "doesn't apply if you worked" line is 100% accurate. My hours went up for a while as coworkers couldn't come in because of their kids. Now that all the extra work led to needing surgery and a way longer recovery time than I'd expected, I'm starting to understand. Living without something of a routine is actually pretty freaking miserable.

The PreBay thing is such a clever twist. I mean, it was *already* a very poignant and funny big-budget pretape sketch with an excellent premise. But then it heightens so well, just when you least expect it. The turn of events could be studied in an improv class. It’s awesome use of “heightening” in a sketch. Plus I swear to God if they did offer PreBay for eBay or Amazon, people would do it - Day 1.

The PreBay thing is such a clever twist. I mean, it was *already* a very poignant and funny big-budget pretape sketch with an excellent premise. But then it heightens so well, just when you least expect it. The turn of events could be studied in an improv class. It’s awesome use of “heightening” in a sketch. Plus I swear to God if they did offer PreBay for eBay or Amazon, people would do it - Day 1.
They need to make it a real ebay commercial.
