To me, Cole is a rapper's rapper. He raps about what he sees and how he feels about what he sees. The Nas comparison is fair because that's what makes Nas so dope. A reporter for the streets. It's been very easy to relate to Cole because everything about him seems genuine and real. I was a big Drake fan, but felt like I started to outgrow his music after a while. Can't be in the club chasing girls the rest of my life. KDot grew on me. Wasn't a huge fan at first, but now he and Cole are my faves. Not bashing Drake, but Mos Def was right...he's Target music. He's given us great hits, but no real substance. I'm not gonna slander him with the culture vulture stuff because many an artist has eaten off of his influence. The people choose KDot, and that's cool. I feel like The Middle Child is who Cole will always be. He's your one friend who gets along with everybody. When he's around you love him, but sometimes you're giving him the side eye cuz once he leaves your spot he's going to kick it with your opps. He's mature enough to be comfortable in his own skin, and I can relate to that. I dont have to hate him because you do. Is he the greatest alive, no. To me, Cole is a rapper's rapper. He raps about what he sees and how he feels about what he sees. The Nas comparison is fair because that's what makes Nas so dope. A reporter for the streets. It's been very easy to relate to Cole because everything about him seems genuine and real. I was a big Drake fan, but felt like I started to outgrow his music after a while. Can't be in the club chasing girls the rest of my life. KDot grew on me. Wasn't a huge fan at first, but now he and Cole are my faves. Not bashing Drake, but Mos Def was right...he's Target music. He's given us great hits, but no real substance. I'm not gonna slander him with the culture vulture stuff because many an artist has eaten off of his influence. The people choose KDot, and that's cool. I feel like The Middle Child is who Cole will always be. He's your one friend who gets along with everybody. When he's around you love him, but sometimes you're giving him the side eye cuz once he leaves your spot he's going to kick it with your opps. He's mature enough to be comfortable in his own skin, and I can relate to that. I dont have to hate him because you do. Is he the greatest alive, no. But he's definitely closer to that side than he is the other. To me, rap beefs don't define who's better. Nas destroyed Jay-Z and the people still chose the latter. Nas'Illmatic was voted the most influential Hip-Hop album of all-time, but rarely is he in people's top 3. FNL is regarded as one of the best mixtapes ever. Between Cole and Wayne, they probably have the best feature runs of all time. The man has his place. Music is subjective and opinion based, so there will NEVER be a true goat. We all like who we like. Unfortunately, to discredit and displace is what we live for...negative energy keeps all the clicks going and people talking. I dont know if he had an epiphany when he chose his album title, but The Fall Off is spot on. Lyrically, cadence wise, rapping, he's never been better. I thought that was the metric for grading MC's. Clearly, it is not.

I really do like j Cole besides the moments he dissed the SoundCloud rappers and him backing down after he rap that he was ready to fight anyone lyrically. I think there's where I like Tyler better since he strikes me as a person who stands on business. Although he isn't near j Cole pen level over time I can see him taking the number 3 spot since it's technically the weakest. I'm praying the fall off does well but if it flops then I think Tyler takes it

Where are we as a culture when outrapping everyone alone isn't enough.
