  • The Carteret Islands are being swamped by seawater, killing food gardens and forcing the population to migrate to mainland Bougainville. This is the story of Ursula Rakova, who has set up an organisation to help her people relocate with dignity and preserve their culture.

    2020 and I am watching .. Sad to see our Islands is sinking to the effects of Climate change.
    Developed Nation should come and help our people. We are the victim of their action.

    Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. The world is facing human induced climate change at the moment, disgustingly it is the people who contribute the least to this climate change who are most at risk and are being most affected.
    Large industrialized countries such as America, China and Australia must quickly take drastic steps to reduce their energy consumption and emissions.
    As Mrs Ursula said in the video its is a human rights issue, and for these large countries not to act is in turn human rights abuse (not to mention the great abuses which are also being afflicted among the non human life forms in these areas.

      This is more to do with plate tectonics. They are in a subduction zone. They have also cleared the mangroves which increases soil erosion. Sea levels are not rising as rapidly as this.

    Philippines has 7thousand plus islands if needed I'm sure that our government and all the Filipino people are doing the same thing when the Jewish refugees welcomeb during the Holocaust, and the Vietnamese during the fall of Saigon , Philippines is open country for refugee🇵🇭
