Oh how I enjoyed this video , my problem has been my LOCS falling off and thinning in the middle , the last Loctician I went to was too ruff and twisted way too tight to the point where pimples formed around my hairline . It’s healed since then ,which was in April 2022 so here we are in June I’ve been wearing wigs and hair pieces as a protective style , thank goodness my LOCS are growing back . And I don’t think I’ll go back to that Salon . But I’ll try another one to repair and maintenance .
Oh no! I don’t have any experience with loc maintenance via loctician or salon but I know thinning and irritation is not the experience you deserve. If you want to switch to self maintenance I have many videos about how I’ve maintained my locs to this point.
Hi, I'm a new subbie and I love your mom's and your locs. They look sooo nice! I'm 9 months loc'd so I'm kinda new to the community but I'm getting there.
Your mom is a trip. I feel her on the struggle. I am 51 and I am sick of dealing with my hair. I am at the point where I just want to get up and go. My hair will NOT behave. It is going through a dry phase and will no longer do what I tell it to do. What's more, I HATE wash days. After this August wedding that I have to attend, I will install my two-strand twist to begin my locs. I cannot wait.
Congratulations on your journey! I don’t know one person who’s shared regretting the transition to the Loc’d life so I hope this journey serves you well and it’s served us.
First of all, you and your Mom are rocking those locs. Could you please share the name of the company your Mom uses to color her locs? I’m looking for a non-permanent alternative.
I am beginning to love my silver I am not totally silver over. I get my braids resisted their getting thicker and I have about 8 of them that are locking. I love them
Hey Strange Hues! Love the video! Thanks for sharing your Momma with the UA-cam family. I'm 8 months in and it's kinda rough. Tryna trust the process. The bunching and frizz... oh my goodness. I started with two strand twists but totally should have done braid locs. I don't want to take them down so I gotta keep going. I like the purple and the silver clips. Think I'll put some color clips in my hair. Nice touch.
Thank you so much! 8 months is just the beginning but if you’re not happy definitely do what you’ll love more. I think everything comes to together around the year mark.
Can relate to your mom on so many levels about the beginning of salt and pepper hair, it been a year since I restarted my locs to micro and I still don't really like it. Brought me black dye, but haven't went for it yet. But I'm thinking of keeping it dyed until it reaches a nice length for me.
Oh no! I hope the color start to grow on you because I know hair color can weaken the hair and with locs that can lead to breakage. My mom uses non permanent color wax but I’ll been encouraging her to embrace the natural color just for the health of her hair and scalp.

So sorry about that love, see why I don't blame people that don't allow anyone to touch their hair talk less of making it.

I am in love with your mom's color! Have you seen the vid that Jocelyn Renee made about the color wax on our locs?
I did not see but my mom died her locs bright red so maybe it’s time I have her back for another update.

I think she used this brand called Mofajang from Walmart. It was very affordable and completely washable. Thank you!
Love you guys together and your locs are beautiful 😍
Thank you so much! My mom loves the spotlight ❤️😭

It was so good to see you again. The color looks nice. What brand of hair wax did you use. I’m salt and pepper ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much! It’s temporary so the salt and pepper is already back in action!

Mỹ goal is salt and pepper locs! I can't wait to reach silver status. It's such a great look!
