I am finding that everything you said is true! My favorite trailing Hoyas in my collection are my wayettiis, my Mathilde, and my krinkle 8. My fave ones on a trellis are my Caudata and my chicken farm. But I feel like most of my Carnosas could go either way. Thank you so much for such an informative video, I truly appreciate you! 🩷 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷
💗💗I like trailing and trellis hoya. It just depends on the hoya. For example my wilber graves is trellised and my heuschkeliana is trailing. I love them both! The lighting looks great, especially highlighting that gorgeous heuschkeliana!
I’m don’t get the counter clockwise. My Pubicalyx has vines going everywhere and clipped up both sides it the trellis. So I guess one is going clockwise
Hi Jaclynn, I have alot of my plants on trellis's especially my Hoya's, I really like the bamboo trellis's I have. I do have my Hoya curtisii that is just a hanging plant because she is very full, she is just a trailing plant. Maybe that's why the ones I have on trellis's is because they need to be but the trailing ones look so good trailing. I just decide which of my plants need to be on trellis's, and I do have my Hoya obavata on a trellis. Gosh I really love that last Hoya you were holding so gorgeous as a trailing Hoya. Have a great rest of your day, blessing you and David sending love and hugs, bye!! 😂🥰😘🙏🙏🙌👏💕💕💜💜
I do prefer to have most of my Hoya on trellis, but that's mostly because I'm limited in space. I do love having my heuschkeliana variegated trailing. It's just the most adorable Hoya 😍
Generally speaking, if I can get away with my hoya trailing, I do. That includes my Obovatas. Some, though, either look weird trailing or just aren't having it. With its giant leaves, Meredithii had to be trellised. I think it would look wonky trailing. I tried to let Diversifolia trail, but it just kept shooting runners skyward, so I finally gave in and trellised it. If I buy a plant already trellised, I don't try to change it to trailing. I usually let all of my Carnosa varieties trail, but my Wilbur Graves has been growing kind of dumb, so I trellised it in hopes that he'd look a little better. I don't have a single small-leafed hoya on a trellis. That includes Mathilde, Heuschkeliana, lacunosa varieties, etc. I've tried a few different trellises since I started collecting hoya about two years ago. I recently switched them all to u-shaped bamboo trellises. I think it will be easier to upsize when the plants outgrow their trellises.
I like trailing, but there are only three points in my apartment where I can hang plants without putting in nails. I agree that some hoyas look nice trailing and some don't.
Definitely prefer trailing Hoya. I had to laugh when you mentioned the counter clockwise because I thought the same thing about it depending on which way you’re looking at the plant. 😂
I have a couple hanging and a couple trellised. The ones that send vines off seeking for the walls and ceiling-those I trellis (Chelsea, Crassipetiolata, Pubicalyx). The ones that softly cascade their stems over the edge of the pot-those I hang (Wayetii {both colours}, Sigillatis, Rosita). The only problem I find with trellises is that you can wrap it around but when it grows longer than the thing, it reaches up again.
I have a hoya sarawak cream splash and she is on a trellis and her leaves are large and gorgeous growing up. I am always starting at her. I feel like if it has big, huge leaves then I may want to have it on a trellis. Although I don't have my obavata on a trellis but that a whole other reason lol.💕💕💕💕
I trellis or stake the thin ones that stand tall but just sway in the wind with out trailing. Like my Hoya Multiflora. There are others that just demand to be trailed. Like the Bella.
13:22 - 13:24 yessss ! 😂😂 But seriously, how does UG compare to the MiracleGro Orchid mist? 1-5 for each product I just looked at the website. Do you use the bug spray and/or leaf shine spray? If so, thoughts?
Hi! I decided to try the Urban Garden Super Growth spray you recommended. Love the smell! I'm wondering how often you spray your hoyas: Daily? Weekly? How long did it take to see a positive change? Thanks!!
I spray mine weekly the night before watering day! But you can honestly do it daily if you wanted it won't harm the plants! I noticed changes within just a couple weeks 😊
Thanks for the hoya info! Do you sell them on Palm Street? Specifically the last only you showed us with the cute small white leaves. The name started with an H. (new to hoya here!) 💟
I personally love trailing Hoya. It does seem like some grow better on a trellis. I really want my mathilde to trail and bush out but seems like she wants to climb or something. Any suggestions? Aside from UG? 😂 (I did just order some super growth elixir tho)
I don’t like using. Foolish spray. I worry about it getting in the windows and furniture. I’m not likely to take to the sink to spray them and they carry them back. And yes I drink water all day long.
The SGE spray is very fine, and you shouldn't let it create droplets on leaves. So there's no reason it should get on anything you're not spraying it directly on!
I totally agree with you,it depends on the thickness of the stem, the size of the leaves also. The most annoying Hoya to train anyway in my collection is Hoya Kerii, the internode spacing is so far apart, the stem is thick as my pinky finger and the leaves are big and heavy,I’ve got it growing up a wall on tree branches and it’s almost impossible to make it bend how you want it. Yes I find the small leaf Hoya go really well hanging down and the thick stem/large leaf ones going up a trellis.💚💚🪴🌿
I’m finding that I prefer the larger leaf Hoyas on a trellis & the smaller ones trailing. I put my Hoya Caudata Sumatra in a trellis & she looks really good. Need to get my Hoya Obovata & SMS ‘TJ’ on a trellis!!! 😎😎😎😎🪴🪴🪴🪴 I couldn’t figure out which way was counter clockwise on them so I just attached with lady bug clips!!!
Just to clarify... the thinner stems hang better compared to thicker stems that grow wonky!!! Thanks for watching! 🖤

Hi Jaclyn I love my Hoyas in baskets ❤
@@MaggieArmenta672 me too! 😊
I'm in my Hoya & Anthurium era, so those types of videos are perfect ❤😂
I'm pretty sure we are mostly Hoya and Anthurium here now with a few weirdos and classics thrown in there for good measure 😄
love your informative videos, you obviously know what you're doing!
I try! I'm certainly not perfect, and I'm always learning new things! 😊
Hey Jaclynn. This is a great video. And can’t wait for the tour of your Hoyas. Have a great day.

🤷🏻♀️
I like them both ways, but I love a trailing plant. ❤ Great video suggestion!
@heather56oliver26 can't beat a trailing babe!
Of course I watch alllll the way to the end 💞💕
I appreciate you 🥰🥰
Love them both ways for sure but the smaller bushier one do look better trailing. Gonna try the elixir for sure !
You're gonna love the super growth elixir! 😊
As you said, it depends on the plant, I like them both ways, but I can. see that some really should be climbing.

Hoya will always do their own thing, haha!
@@jaclynns.jungle I like to do my own thing too...maybe that's why I like hoya 🤣
My obovata has long thick vibes that I couldn’t bend around the trellis.ine has bones sticking up everywhere.
Same as mine.
Gotta train them when they're still fresh and soft. Once they harden off, it's very difficult!
@@jaclynns.jungle too late for mine. They are about two feet long and stick straight out everywhere.

Once the trellis is really full do you snip off the new shoots?
