When you get a problem with your streaming device that will not send a signal due to HDCP protection hold the H264 H265 button on the unit for 10 seconds and it will work
This is about the 1080p model. I kind of knew most of the features and limitations prior to purchase. It does what it's supposed to. I bought it to record one season of one particular show featured on Roku Live TV. The few problems I had are that it became unresponsive a couple times which required a restart using the power button then the source button. I also had the remote stop functioning a few times. I haven't even had it 24 hours yet but was thinking it needed a firmware update but couldn't find how to actually do that. They offer the download on their website but no instructions on whether to hook the device to a pc or put the download on the usb storage. The other problem may be related to my Roku. I set up 4 recording sessions to happen in the future over 4 evenings. This isn't like a DVR or a VCR where you set it and forget it. It has no ability to change channels so it's up to you to set up the channel prior to recording and don't change it. My bigger issue is that my Roku seems to sense that nobody is watching anything and shuts down and the Cloner would record the home screen instead of the program. Maybe I can find where it never times out and just keeps playing live TV with the display TV off. My test record worked fine though.
Thanks for the video. Im thinking of getting the cloner to record retro and PlayStation 3 gaming. I have a question if you read this. Can i record onto a thumbdrive from cloner and import the footage to my ps5 to edit in sharefactory? You seem to have done some experimenting with the cloner so i wanted to ask that. Thanks
For me, since I would be using this to record streaming from FireTV, I would overlook the inability to record 4k because of it’s ability to record in H.265, which saves a ton of space on a drive due to superior compression
Great video. But, what's the point of recording in 4K ,if you don't have a 4K tv ?So I think that is not that big of an issue, and you can solve by just getting a 4K tv or monitor. Again great video .Very helpful .Thanks
You explained what UVC is on the front of the box. Then a instant later, on the back of the box - UVC threw you a curve. In other words, you answered your own question before even asking it.
'So easy to setup, anyone can do it'. Right. Sure. Hi puppy. She sure wants to get involved with helping. This device seems ok and on the expensive side. That being said, from my point of view it just seems to be a lot more trouble than it's worth. I guess that for a professional user it my work. But certainly not for a casual user.
i do think it depends as well. if you are going to use it to edit footage, then its defintiely some work, but if you just want to record to it and then play back from it, it works quite well and super easy.

The speed of rewind and fast forward is way to slow. Is there any videos on how to edit videos?
therefore, this system does not allow recording of a TV channel and viewing another TV channel at the same time.?

How is this substantially different from what you can do with the Xbox Game Bar, which is free?

h265 is indeed a great compression.
