If, as they say, a camel is a horse designed by a committee, then in relation to the Australian feral camel, the committee did a darn good job!
Once a trusted pack animal, their economic value waned with the coming of road and rail. In the present day hundreds of thousands of wild camels roam the outback causing enormous damage to the environment.
The Royal Geographical Society of South Australia welcomes Pamela Rajkowski OAM to present our monthly lecture. Pamela has a deep understanding of issues relating to feral camels particularly the effect of climate change and changes in animal distribution.
