Looking forward to watching the entire run during my next few indoor runs. I am still working up to a 10k race and your videos are great motivation. Thank you for sharing. 🏃🏃♂🏃♀
Awesome job, a stunning beautiful old city, what an experience that must have been! I dont know how you do that, running for 4 hours, no breaks, you are amazing!
Thank you for making this, I’m training as of today to work up to Berlin. Unfortunately I have to wait to see if I got into the lottery for next year 😂
Congratulations! I watched the whole run, thank you so much for taking us with you. Hopefully I will finish on 29th of September 2024 my first marathon ever🥳
I used a GoPro Hero11 with an external battery hooked up via USB. It was simply mounted on my head. The GoPro did most of the horizon leveling and stabilization. I did have to post process to further level the horizon but not too much.
Hi, The Average Runner! First of all, congratulations on your impressive performance in the Berlin Marathon and the excellent quality of your videos. I’m a runner and a wedding photographer on the Costa Brava, and you inspire me a lot to start recording my own runs with my GoPro. I have a few questions about your setup, if you don’t mind sharing more details: Do you find the camera uncomfortable on your head during the run? Have you had to adjust your running technique to prevent the camera from bouncing? I saw you mentioned using a power bank in the video, how do you carry it connected without the cable being an issue? Thanks for your time and keep up the great work!
The best way I've found to keep the camera stable is to wear a hat. I've tried running without one, and the camera just feels sloppy on my head. In terms of running form, it hasn't altered my natural cadence in any way. That said, it is a good reminder when I'm getting tired: to maintain proper form 🙌 As to how comfortable, it's usually not noticeable except on days when my hair is feeling "sensitive" and the hat itches. But I suppose that's just normal and has nothing to do with the camera. For the battery, I tuck it away in my running belt and string the cable around to my back and up to my hat. This keeps the cable from getting in the way of anything, and if it does bounce, it does so in a non-obtrusive way. Enjoy your running! 🏃♂️
It's a really fun route. Put my name in the lottery again for next year. Doubtful I'd get in 3 years in a row when some people still haven't been accepted at all!
@@lorensiuswlt Apparently yes. I was curious and looked it up: In 2023 there were two reanimations and no deaths. And in 2024 there were 5 reanimations and still no deaths.
I don't have any exact details but it appears to be a medical event. Whatever it was, it must have resolved because there were no deaths in 2023 for the marathon!
@@TheAverageRunner I was using gels with more than 40g of carbohydrates and there came a point in the race that I was saturated, I am considering going below 30 but with a frequency of approximately 3 per hour... thank you for sharing your experience.
an awesome video and performance, but I actually find the description of the video to be completely false. The course is just different and I think you know that. I would change or delete that. I would even help Running the marathon tomorrow and still thankful for the video
I'll check it. I was writing it based on probably out of date sources. While I visit Berlin often, I still am a novice with the street names and locations.
For anyone wanting to get official titles or placement, no. That said, many runners wear them as they are running for themselves and not a competition.

Awesome - glad you enjoyed it!
Plenty of time for 20-minute treadmill run in Marathon video. Thank You, much enjoyed.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Glad to help with the motivation 💪
This is great! I got a bib for 2024 and this will help me a ton with learning some of the landmarks along the way. Much appreciated.
Best of luck!

Thank you very much! I did walk at the water stations. That's my secret strategy 😜
Well done! I could see you pick up the pace in the last couple of kilometers.
Yeah, was feeling good. And hyping myself up saying "it's now or never, nothing left to save for"
Glückwunsch an Sie. I did the Staten Island Half.
I'm sure you did amazing!
Congratulations 🎊 Thank you for taking us through the entire course. I plan to run Berlin in 2025 as my second World Majors. This video really helps.
Best of luck! Glad this is helpful. I know the second time I did Berlin was much easier because I knew what was ahead. Stay strong 💪
Good stuff. Very detailed. Thanks for taking the whole video and sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! It wasn't me talking but the amazing crowd in Berlin!
Awesome as always. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! It was a tough run but very rewarding.

I put my name in again too! I doubt I'll get in for a 3rd year in a row but who knows how the lottery works

You got this! Your work is sure to reward you 🏃♀️
Thank you so much for uploading the video. It helps a lot. Hopefully, I can also run a marathon soon. Thanks heaps!!
Glad it was helpful!
Great race, Congratulations Champ
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed!
Congrats
Thanks! Hope you enjoyed the scenery!
what camera and gimbal please ? amazing footage and perfomance ❤

Is incredible! Mounted on your head with the gopro head grip?
Thank you for this. Got me through a couple of long dreadmill sessions.
What camera and mount accessories are you using?
Glad you enjoyed! I'm using a gopro with a simple head mount. It's attached to a simple external battery pack to keep it going for so long.

4:05:08 OMG🙏😨
You can do it!
Awesome run man! I’m curious, how did you manage to film your whole marathon without your battery dying out? Again, congratulations on your run!
I just use a portable battery plugged into the USB port on the GoPro. Usually it helps the camera last a long time (unless the cable gets knocked out)
@TheAverageRunner oh I see, that makes sense. Thank you for responding back to me 🫱🏻🫲🏼
Great video..thank you..btw what happend at 04:05:08 ? someone collapsed ?
Looks like they are performing CPR on a runner. Pretty chilling at a point that should be a moment of joy!

It seems his fancy shoes slipped on the ramp! Lots of people in costumes for the race too.
Hola en la descripción comentas que usaste 3 geles x hora, usaste geles MAURTEN?
Solo utilicé un gel MAURTEN que me dieron gratis durante el recorrido. El resto de la carrera utilicé Gu Energy.

Less than a mile to the finish and someone tried to ram you with a bicycle.
I yelled at him. 😤
Sind Kopfhörer eigentlich erlaubt?
Nein
