Toronto prolly got one of the best music scenes in the entire world, but we never get the attention for it because of poor branding and advertising. A lot more Toronto rappers would make it mainstream if they could get an American deal

@Yardy Kno Lol even now that Smoke Dawg is dead he still doing more numbers than most of Wass. Puffy was getting numbers no one else was getting, Mo G was the hottest on the scene for a while. They got people like SAFE too who’s killing the R&B scene. The only person who was doing better than Smokey from Wass is Houdini but he’s dead now too. No one else from Wass was even close to Smoke’s popularity and numbers.

Toronto is an amazing city you definitely have to visit it, even with all this stuff going on. Most of this happens out in the North westend and north east end of the city both of which are like an hour drive away from the city itself so it won’t effect you.

I want torontos rap scene to be widely known, or at least acknowledged by someone other than ppl in toronto, american rap is worldwide, I just want to talk to someone about puffy l'z without them looking at me funny, I want to be able to walk around my city knowing full well no one around me is gonna get hurt, or shot. Its sad to see rappers on the verge of making it, just to get shot up, I wasnt glorifying "that life" i just was pointing something out. I also never said I was proud of high murder rates, If you look back on toronto over the years, we had a few MAJOR crimes in the 2010s, we had the van attack, the raptors parade shooter, the danforth shooting, and the dude letting off a machine gun at the eaton centre, that stuff was scary to be around, they had cops patroling the streets telling everybody in downtown to go inside. I'm not proud of that, and maybe it sounded like i was proud of murder rates bc i said toronto has been banging for a while, but I was just pointing out something
