Visited el jem in the 80s with my wife the coliseum is amazing we even went below were the animals and gladiators cells were we also visited a row of terrace houses with decorative floors , also a villa well preserved, for roman ruins it is a amazing place.
Pozazdrościć. Amfiteatr w El - Jem jest fantastyczny, byłem 2 razy. Robi większe wrażenie niż Colosseum. Tamten stoi w centrum miasta, trochę w zagłębienia, El - Jem na pustyni, otoczony niskimi budynkami, wygląda imponująco! Do Rzymskich miast na pustyni ( Dhougga, Sbeitla) niestety nie tak łatwo się dostać. Dzięki za film.
Wow! Thank you for sharing! I'm astounded that iam totally unaware of these locations. I'm never hearing about anything coming out of Tunisia. I didn't even know Roman's built there.
YES, I realize that but, as with all conquered territory the Romans occupied it and built it up (colonization) for centuries and whence it became profitable such "public works" as they were, were indeed financed by said colonization due to infrastructure needs! Rome, in all its glory after all,..."was not built in a day!" @@rafael16759
