That's you, hardly making new
Living, laughing, lose
That sleep makes my eyes believe in you
Morning bird cut up worm
Fasting child in warmth of Adam
Here comes the sun
Here comes someone
Look where to hide
Oh where to hide
Oh I know I lied make it hard to find
Look, your head doesn't look
and dark blue bird, black worm
It follows me harmless and I learn
Father, my faith is bothered
In my stomach there is hope in all his spirit
Black bird blues daughter you will lose
keep her steady off the black yarn cradle burn you'll be able.
This will always be my favourite EP. I randomly downloaded it in 12th grade of highschool (2012) back when Rise Records was killing it. I first listened to these songs on the beach in Dominican Republic. I’ve just found God and this is my first listen since that happened. I’m truly blessed. Peace and love to you all.
Good musicians are able to pull off many different styles and still have it sound unique and interesting. Kudos to Oceana. Their progression just shows the calibre of their musicianship.
2021 and still love this🔥🔥
Still listening to in 2017. anyone else? I find it hard to find good music like this anymore
Still one of the best EP's ever made. Remember when it came out and my friends and I couldn't stop listening to it. Just one of those EP's every person should listen to at least once.
2018 anyone?
Still goin strong in 2019. This is what happens when music isn’t timestamped and the guitar tone is unbeatable.
2019 Brennans Voice is special but go on Spotify or Pandora or SoundCloud there’s a beautiful wide world of music to explore
Yeah listening to this jawn in 2017
Underrated.
Oceana is a perfect example of a band who has changed their sound not once but twice (and about to be a third) and can still pull it off. I really admire this band and enjoy whatever they put out.
Wow at first I wasn't so keen on listening to their new stuff, because I loved their old stuff so much that I didn't want to be disappointed. but after listening to this.. I'm loving it!
Just such a beautiful song in general
kind of reminded me of the sound of fighting animals :) in a good way!
I dont know how this doesnt have more views, this EP is really good. They need to release it full length, listening to 4 songs over and over again isnt nearly as satisfying is spam listening to a really good cd. Regardless these songs are really good I love it all.
Any other sound like this album? Deep, pure, original. Nothing like it.
Everybody. Debating about Oceana's sound and which album is "better", is completely pointless. The simple fact is, that all their albums are so entirely different, that one cannot think of them as being made by the same band.
Rise lost some amazing talent when Oceana left...They are the one band from Rise I think are so unique and good at progressing. Rise was lucky to have them while they did.
a band that grows as i grow...unbelievable
I love it!!!!!
@SirBaga in case you don't already, listen to decoder
@pocketocrisps That's for sure. So underrated, and so talented.
no matter what people say I will love oceana even when they change style.
hell yeah. best band
I actually don't like their newer stuff but I respect the band for exploring other genres of music because thats what my favorite band did and now they're one of the best bands and they have the most talented and gifted musicians in the band(Avenged Sevenfold)
@ForlornSong Glad to see someone not flip out about someone elses personal opinion. I've seen so many children rage on youtube, it's actually kind of funny...Haha.
wow this is fkn awesome,
@kahngu Yeah!! I have heard them before, but never gotten into them. But ill definitely take a deeper listening and check out their albums. Thanks for some new music man!!
Everyone changes a bit when they go from being Teenagers to Adults (Some More Drastically then others.) it just happened for them in the spotlight. And those who don't accept it will find happiness in something else.
11 Years Ago ?! These guys are so amazing tho 🔥🤘!
@KaoticMentality then you should also enjoy Thrice! amazing band with amazing sound
@KaoticMentality they're in my opinion one of the best bands lyricly...how ever you spell that.
i'l be seeing the singer Dustin Kensrue on april 24. all of Thrices' albums are different!
i think the old stuff is better (my personal preference is harder shit) but they still did a good job pulling off a new sound
It's cool to see them continuing to find the sound their searching for, but personally, this isn't really my cup of tea. I look forward to hearing how they continue to change in the future, though, and I may buy this album just to add to my collection, and put this in the player as some casual lounge music or something.
People that say old oceana is better are wrong
This EP & Birth.Eater are masterpieces, but The Tide is one of my favourite albums. Having different preferences isn't "wrong" it's _human._ People who can't accept different opinions aren't right, they're just narrow minded elitists.
i fux w/ it
@himynameisgus no thats the female singer OCEANA.
2020
Is it me or does this not sound like it's in English?
@Gr0md0r Well said.
You people keep calling it "changing". When it's more a matter of growing as artists.
Is there anything else in the world that sounds like this?????
As cities burn is the closest you are going to get
it's a E.P not an album.
This albums works best when driving :p keeps you calm as fuck x)
anyone who gets on here and posts about old oceana being better than this e.p, especially those posts in the last couple months, are seriously fucking posers. this has been out for well over a year. anyone saying something negative about this semi-recently is a poser who just discovered the band, or you would have complained 18 months ago when it fucking came out. i mean fuck, this is old now.
yeah the vocals sound very similar
@KaoticMentality Totally agree bro. They don't belong on Rise though, that record company is so fucking generic and cookie cutter now, its a joke. Oceana will grow and aquire a new record company that allows them to be them and make music how they want to. When their new album drops it will be like Christmas for me.
@TReoS96 Maybe if you understood artists, Maturity, and actually had a fucking variety in music you would appreciate such a great transition. THIS IS OCEANA RIGHT HERE.
@JustShtUp oceano bro
Have oceana ever played this live?
@Thelomew im sorry........
@Gr0md0r wow im drunk, i meant 2 completely dif styled albums
holy shit i thought this was the oceana deathcore band
@theunclex hahaha, that's random
I am so depressed that Birth.Eater is gone, hopefully they go back. If anyone knows a band with a similar sound to Birth.Eater i would like love you forever and ever.
Check out Lead Hands, formerly known as Decoder. :)
Alex Goodman thank you for this. Lead Hands are sick asf
It's Indie Rock???
Personally, Birtheater is so much better compared to this. No offense to all the listeners liking their new stuff...
Although, I do love the melody and happy mood. It's nice for a change, I guess you can call it relaxing.
Oceana! what the fuck happened?
this sounds like DGD when they had Kurt Travis
they should change their name. it doesn't fit. when i think of oceana.. i think of "the tide" or "birth.eater". i wish they stayed with the birth.eater tune. more emotional & powerfull.
old shit, new shit.. who cares im just greatful i get 2 complete styled albums
hahahaha, i havent heard poser in so long
