Simpson Sears released the Hasbro Canada Mountie Gift set in 1966. It was a Canadian exclusive. It came in a corrugated box, with and without front litho. The Mountie was also released in Canada as the "Action Men of the World" window box set with a brown rifle (without brown medic pouch, radio, mess kit and knife). The stetson is stamped Hasbro Japan and is a thick plastic that is not opaque. The third and final release in Canada of the Mountie was in 1976. Hasbro Canada worked with European licensee Schildkrot in Germany to release window boxes for the Canadian Mountie, Wild West Indian, Wild West Cowboy and Polar Explorer. The stetson for this release is brittle and somewhat opaque. No coffin box was ever released for the Mountie.
Greg and David RULE!!!
Thank you Greg and David for that fun and informational video on the Mountie!
The dog with the pouches is the Barbie St. Bernard Red Cross Medic Pup.
I believe the 1976 mountie, polar explorer,Wild West cowboy and Wild West Indian were only released in Canada.Hard to find up here.
Great video guys!
Another excellent video!! These have been very enjoyable, and educational. Thanks again Greg!
I love this show!
Great review & figures
love it Greg, great videos
The prices for parts on the GI Joe or Action Man RCMP sets are pretty high, likely due to scarcity. I eventually got pieces from the Dragon "John Steele" RCMP set and used a Cotswold hat. I have still not found dark brown boots that I am happy with, and I need a black horse for him.
I recently bought a Mountie set for $500. He is Hasbrough Joe. He came with a long Sam Browne belt and Brutis. There is a guy on ebay who makes gloves and I bought a set for him. I also have the Brittish made Mountie. His face sculpt is quite different and the hand sculpt is round. I live in Austin so I am a fellow Texan.
Any royal mounty sets coming?
Quick question... kinda off topic, but what stands are you using? TIA!
Hi greetings from Brazil. I saw a message at Facebook i think you guys miss the new estrela toy Falcon figure..but keep an eye.on it cause estrela always bring a new lot for all people
Dear Greg Brown I am a huge fan of cotsworld collectibles and love the elite brigade vintage vibe stuff that you do however, I was curious as to why you guys ( as in Cotsworld collectibles) have never made a reproduction G.I. Joe muscle body (I personally am a huge fan of the muscle body and always wanted you guys to make them but I was also curious if you guys ( as in Cotsworld collectibles) never made one because of a manufacturing issue. I apologize for all off the typos
I bought an action man one at the KY show but pretty sure it’s reissue way too clean. That is if Action man made a reissue one?
They did for the 40th Anniversary Nostalgic Collection.
Thanks I'm sure thats the one I found@@Kneon_Knight
Funny fact: Mountie boots are actually burgundy so none of the Joe variations are correct. I traded my Mountie set years ago. Kind of wish I hadn't. 😉
