I love how each new tractor is easier to start than the last one. The 4430's are such a pain to start when cold.

The sound guard cab is a sonnofa gun to get in and out and to see out of. Other than that, beautiful tractors

We got a 4450. Beautiful tractor, never had a problem starting and it has plenty of lugging power. And, i love the way these series sound!
I love how a 4440 had more hp then a 4450

I put 2 12volt batteries in parallel and a gear reduction starter on our 4430 helped alot
We did as well it starts so easy now but the starter spins quite fast just after startup.
this is such a great video.It is always good to see these John Deeres looking so well and sounding so great.Another thing is it is always good when you just turn the key and they fire up no problem awesome

here is a tip for those older John Deere tractors that just don't like to start in cold weather you can take the steering wheel and move it back and forth really quick while cranking it over and it releases the hydraulic pressure of the pump allowing itit to crank over faster

I love those Deere's. We use to have a 4430 on the farm and it too was a terrible cold starter. Are all those Deere's yours or do you own a dealership??

Kinda really sad it took Deere till the 50 series to have a decent starting diesel. Cummins was miles ahead. Even terrible to admit but I seen a 1066 IH start as well.
It’s only a true cold start if it has dead battery’s

dont use a 4430 to feed cattle with alot of hay dust getting in the engine, mine started on fire.
It's not very cold in that video. Let's start the same tractors when it's 0 degrees Fahrenheit outside instead.

American JD's look so weird without the proper lights like European models
American lighting is the proper lighting because John Deere made tractors for quite some time before going international. Lots of 4020 John deere's did not have the side lights because they were manufactured before John Deere started selling their products in other countries, far away from their plant. My grandpa owned a 4230 and a 4030 a while ago and he put custom lights on the front and on the roof of them because he couldn't see a thing at night. ;)
Farmers then started complaining and John Deere started putting light bars on the hoods of the 1980+ John Deere tractors. :D
Meanwhile you guys had front lights the whole time XD
Light bars were an option for the 1970 Jed's as well.
@@mackthompson1161 it's funny, I say the exact same thing as you about euro models. They look absolutely hideous with euro lighting and fenders.
For the life of me, I can't understand people's fascination with Deere equipment. Kind of like Jack Daniels. Good marketing I guess.
in response to Bisquick comments I started making money when I got rid of red tractors and bought green. have had almost no serious issues at all with the green tractors nothing but major catastrophic failures with the red ones. will never go back to red
@@bisquik3006 I don't feel like you spent many hours in the seats of these. With the exception of the 30 series that never started, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the other 3 tractors here. Deere only started to go downhill after the late 90's
