My biggest book sin: throwing it directly into the fireplace while reading it. I don't remember the name of the book but it was a cheesy love story. Luckly, no one saw me doing this because I got it as a present. Since then I know that romance isn't my cup of tea😂
I love this so much 😂 the kinda dnf energy I’m taking into 2024 😂
Oh my god😂
this is so funny i’m cackling
I've thrown one in the trash before, but man you had a way better idea!
Oh my god I don’t know what I was expecting when scrolling through the comments but this is better than I imagined 😂😂
For anyone who might need timestamps here you go. ♥️

Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!!!
I know no one will see this, but I’m going through a bit of a tumultuous time at the moment and this video brought me so much comfort. I’m really glad you decided to keep making monthly wrapups. ❤
i saw this and hope everything falls into place for you
thank you so much! 🙂
hello Antonia! I hope everything will work out in your favour. Sending you a virtual hug xx
I saw your message and just wanted to tell you that I wish from the bottom of my heart for you to overcome whatever obstacles you're dealing with. Sending you love and positive vibes!
Wishing you well! Hope that by the time this reaches you, things have started to make way for time filled with ease and comfort. Take care!
I read “Regrettably, I am about to cause trouble” this week and couldn’t put it down. I couldn’t predict where the story was going to go and was pleasantly surprised at every turn. It was funny, spooky, thought provoking and empowering. Such an amazing read
the wrap ups are my absolute favorite vids on your channel (maybe my favorite videos on yt altogether). please don't stop doing them! 🥢🥡
omg i fell in LOVE with emily wilde, i immediately bought the second book as soon as it came out!!! i very much recommend both :))
so glad you decided to continue with the wrap ups! and the worst reading thing I've ever done was drop my book in water- it was completely ruined 😭
I’ve spilt a drink all over my book so the liquid plus book thing I get bet you felt your heart sink as it happened too, that was definitely the case for me😅
I feel you both! Once I managed to drop one of my favourite books into the only puddle that was to be seen on the entire street because I thought it was a good idea to keep it in the back pocket of my puffer jacket while I was riding my bike… it was a beautiful Penguin Modern Classics Edition that was so difficult to find because they now publish the book with a different cover on it. I had just bought it the other day before that fateful water accident and was so happy that I had finally found this rare edition in an independent bookshop on this little island I was staying on for vacation. But yeah, of course I had to ruin it shortly after 🥲
@@lia_tabea nooo not the penguins classic😭😭
yep, the pain I felt was very real :(((@@sineadboehme2273
@@sineadboehme2273 yes!! it was honestly so sad
The best channel to come to when needing some cozy vibes🍴🤍
🌝🤍
The way I read War and Peace just to watch your vlogs about it... and now I'm doing the same with The Count of Monte Cristo XD (and loving it!!!)
the sigh of relief i just heaved at seeing a new emmie video was so loud 😌
Excited that we have a 400k blooper video coming up soon 😂🎉❤
👀
I just finished Regrettably ..
I loved it especially how she made her way after the marriage. A great read.
I believe the author has another book out. ❤
Father, I confess. I loved your outfit. The hair, the rings, the lip balm/gloss... and THE REVIEWS! Feel like my soul has been blessed. Thank you.
Haha no thank you!!!
The concept of 'Like Water For Chocolate' sounds amazing, thanks for the recommendation!
It's a fantastic book!
It really is good! Mexican lit is amazing ❤ (yes that’s my country haha)
I haven't read the book yet (I just found a physical copy) but the movie was pretty good.
Your game of tomes video inspired me to start reading the count of monte cristo. Only a third of the way through but its amasing so far! Thank you for causing me to actually read lengthy tbr books
Ahhh isn’t it good? So happy you’re joining us!!
Your videos are so comforting ❤ 🥄
I'm so glad!💙
The worst thing related to books I ever did was accidentally fully ripping out a page of a book mid literature exam. Just casually flipping through the pages to get to a specific part and to this day I still don't know how but I ended up ripping said page out... What a fun exam that was 😅 As always loved the video and am super happy you had a good start to the reading year! I was on the side of the book club that didn't really enjoy Like Water for Chocolate but I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts 🥢
I LOVED regrettably I’m about to cause trouble!!! I read it last year and it was phenomenal! So happy to see someone else who has read it 🙌🏼👏🏼
OMG I went to high school with Amie McNee - how exciting that you love her work! Thanks for supporting her!
I had been meaning to read Like Water for Chocolate for a while and thanks to your bookclub I read it in january and loved it!! 🥄
🍳 so happy that you are going to continue with the wrap-ups!! If I am thinking of getting any book, I always look up if you have read that book and what you thought of it and the wrap-up videos are really helpful for that!
I've started reading thanks to you who got me into reading in the 1st place & I'm thankful for all the recs i really enjoy reading now & ofcourse watching these videos ❤❤
🫖 Watched through til the end (as always!).
Love the wrap up videos.
I put a few on my TBR. 👏
Congratulations on the upcoming 400k subscribers, seriously you have the best UA-cam Channel. My fav 😍 🎉
I love your wrap ups!! Please keep doing them :)
Monte Cristo was one of my want to reads this year and when I saw y’all were doing it, I was like this is the perfect motivation I need. LOOOVED IT💗💗

eee hope you enjoy them all! thank you
Damn, my wish list is gonna be as long as Tolstoy’s epilogue in War and Peace. Love these recs! 💛
😂 my apologies!! at least you’ll hopefully have books to read for a long time to come!☺️
I love your videos you're one of the reasons I ever up staying my booktube channel 💜
Always love your vlogs and this review one was no exception!
I wa waiting for January wrap up so eagerly and here it is generally I don't comment but I was really hoping for Jan wrap up love you emma
I had the absolute privilege of meeting Laura Esquivel and giving her a tour of my uni campus when she got an honorary degree ! Such a nice lady!
omg yess keep the wrap-ups I love seeing what others read :)
Love the wrap up videos. Cannot imagine anyone who doesn’t. Sharing the books we’ve read and our thoughts is such a key part of this community. I am adding a resolution to post my month’s reads with ratings to these wrap up videos and I hope others follow suit.
Btw-worst book sin. I was going thru my father’s books during estate clean out. Many of them were in a basement where some became mildewed. I thought I discarded all the damaged books but sold online an old technical manual only to receive an angry message that the interior was mildewed. I attempted to contact them to refund them at least but could never get in contact. Still feel so bad about this.
thank youuu Emmieee ❤️ loved the video so muchhh
This video was great ❤❤ I'm so happy that you got to read such amazing books 🥄
I love this filming setup sm
Really fun wrap up. Love what you are wearing.🥄
so glad you're still doing these - thank you!!! these are some of your videos that i look forward to the most
Your videos are everything i ever wait for
I'm dying to read Like water for Chocolate! Thanks for the rec! ❤
I loved the magical realism recommendation since I am always on the lookout. Thank you!
🥢 When you said a lot of Emily Wilde reminded you of Howl's Moving Castle, I instantly added it to my tbr!
Also loved the rant + cute mushroom art combination 😂
When I watch your wrap up videos I always end up adding some books to my wishlist. 😌 Do you plan to make a cooking vlog with Like Water for Chocolate? I loved the previous ones. 🥣
Great wrap up. Happy February ❄️📚☕🌹💌
i'm so happy i also got to read both emily wilde's and like water for chocolate last month and then watch u talk about them! gave them 4 stars too. really thought of you when heather fawcett said "the little ribbons of time that clung to the rock in the form of frozen cataracts".
i'm already reading calvino's book (finding it challenging btw) and so excited cause italian is my second language :)
🥤loving the wrap up! Loved the mushrooms as well!
Love diamond painting and reading
I just find all your videos so calming and fun :) **adds all unread books to cart**
I read "Regrettably I'm About to Cause Trouble" last year and also really enjoyed it! My biggest book sin is using a really old copy of Dorian Gray (it has this old kind of lettering that I can barely read) that I found in the trash for my reading journal. I always rip out pages of that copy for collages etc. and I feel like people would hate me for that hahaha
Just loved it...take love emmie❤️
Love the video and the recommendations! I'm definitely adding some of them to my tbr 🤗🍽
👩🏻🍳 I just finished The Count of Monte Cristo which I picked up because I saw your GoT video. It's one of my all time favourite books now, thank you for inspiring me to pick up a large read! 🌻
Ah I’m so glad!!! I’m about 600 pages in and loving it:’)
Uuu Emmie getting close to 400k! 👀
Congrats, girl! 🎉
Thank you love!!!
🔪 Glad to hear that you had a good reading month, Emma! I read Like Water for Chocolate in high school and it left a huge impression on me; there is so much to discuss about food and the role of cooking in this book and in literature.
I’m enjoying monte cristo SO much Emma, I can’t believe it
If you pick up the second Emily Wilde book, I recommend getting the audiobook. It works really well with the journal style and the second one is a bit faster paced than the first.
I've had The Count of Monte Cristo on my shelf for years. I think I'll finally read it this year. Looking forward to books in the World Tour Bookclub. I might skip Feb just because I've already read it although I feel like it'd be fun to re-read 🍳
i love your recommendations !! just finished the catcher in the rye even though i heard a lot of bad things about it but i gave it a chance thanks to you and absolutely loved it !! :) i think i’ll start emily wilde’s encyclopedia of fairies ! :)
Emma -- thanks for making your videos. I starting watching them over a year ago, and I really enjoy them. If you are looking for a five star read, I recommend Carson McCullers' The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. It was the best book I read last year.
Like water for chocolate was a good read ❤ I enjoyed it a lot , thank you Emma x
Looking forward to finally finish Like Water for Chocolate! Joined the bookclub but had no time to read it yet🥄
i read like water for chocolate this month too! i loved it so much, im mexican so i had the privilege of reading it in the original language, and im always biased when it comes to mexican authors so it became a new favorite 🤍 love the way you pronounce the names haha🧂
🥢 can’t wait to read calvino with you all guys
It is so nice to have a positive reading month! My worst reading crime, I think, must be, that while at university, I developed a habit of being good at writing essays and talking in class about books I never got around to finishing (I’d read maybe 50% or thereabouts). In my honours year, in our final week of class, one of my favourite lecturers was acknowledging that maybe many of us had not read the final book on the reading list because it was the same week our assignment was due, and when I acknowledged I hadn’t finished it either, he replied, with a smile, “but you never finish your books, Joy”. I felt like I could have disappeared at that moment haha!
I listened to Regrettably I am About To Cause Trouble because of you and loved it! Also, fun fact: it's available on UA-cam as well for those who don't use Libby. 🎉
A perfect video to end my day ❤❤❤
'Like Water for Chocolate' sounds amazing, thank you for the recommendation! 🥣
Your videos are always touching & informative. 🍴
11:32 that sells it to me. 😊❤ Happy Valentine's Day Emmie ❤❤❤ I love you and your channel. ❤️💕💖🌹
Oh my, I need to know how do you make that art! SO so beautiful 💓
Thank you for this lovely video 🙏☕️🫖🍵🥣
I listened to 'Regrettably, I am about to Cause Trouble' after you first mentioned it. It was a very enjoyable experience.
I just sat down with a coffee, perfect timing! 🙈
haha I just made a cup as well - enjoy xx
as a fan of nettle & bone, i’m so excited to check out regrettably, i’m about to cause trouble! they seem to have the same vibe.
I'm delighted to know that you've finally read Like Water for Chocolate! I've read it twice so far and found it to be an incredible book. The magical realism in it was fantastic and brought every scene to life. If you're interested, I do recommend you watch the movie too 🥰
The Count of Monte Cristo is a book I want to read every year. I miss it when I finish it. It’s wonderful.
I deeply love your videos ❤, thanks
Emma! I really recommend North Woods!
🥄 can't wait for the vlog !🍴
I read ‘Regrettably…’ by Amie Mcnee last year and I loved it. Also the red print off my Emily Wilde came off in places too. I don’t think I’ve committed any heinous crimes towards books but I am a spine breaking, book bending annotator so maybe that counts. 😂
Thanks, this was fun🍴🥣🥄
only
one thing that make me happy
I laughed out loud when you said you looked like a puritan. So funny. I ordered Regrettably I am about to Cause Trouble for my daughter. I’ll read it first. My library doesn’t have it. It sounds SO good!
🫕. Hi Emma. Ok when I was in kindergarten I wanted to write script so I tried in a library book 🤣🤣🤣🤣. My Dnf this month was a bio on a lady spy called a woman of no importance. She's interesting but the spy stuff wasn't for me. I got more from a documentary on her. The book kind of read like text book for me. My 4 star read is Grandma Gatewoods Walk about the first woman to walk the Appalachian Trail and she was in her 60's! Great book and well written! Love it!! 🥰🐛📚💚
🍳I read Like Water for Chocolate a couple of times. First time in the 90’s, it was given to me and I loved it since. Most recently the author wrote two books related to Tita. One Is Tita’s journal, and I loved that one too. 📚 🥘 🍳
My brother introduced your page to me and the video you made with your brother about the Mill House Murders was my first video I watched of yours 🥹 I’ve really enjoyed watching your vids so far, thank you for your content! ♥️🍴
Aweee welcome!! So glad you’re here💙
🍽️ haha i enjoyed it so much! You should definitely keep reading Mexican lit, Emma, it’s really good! Also I was wondering if you’ve heard of these two books and if you’d read them! The grace of wild things and Tender is the flesh! I’ve heard really good things about them 🩵 so happy you got to read a lot of good books 🥰
Ive already read the count of monte cristo, 1q84 and LOTR so im currently reading mr norwell and joanthan strange and let me tell you, we cant put that book down haha im portuguese and im so surprised that a big part happens in a war we had here, so many village names that i know. The book has so much mistery. So whimsical
You should read Barthes’ S/Z for the idea of structure and its cliches.
🍽️ your little rant about Alias Emma was kinda funny and I enjoyed it.
Your shirt looks so beautiful! And the video is very beautiful as well 🍴
Thank you Sofia☺️☺️
You're so well-spoken🤍🤍
Frying pan fun!
🥄 I've never read the book, Like Water for Chocolate, but I owned an artisinal chocolaterie in NYC when the movie debuted. Everyone came in and asked me to tell them what flavor they needed or wanted. I have very fond memories of the film.

5: A Disappearance in Fiji - Niilma Rao (Fiji) - 4/5
6: Puppet Flower: A Novel of 1867 Formosa - Yaochang Chen (Taiwan) - 3.5/5

Gosh i think you would love one piece. The way you love whimsical book and books that make you laugh and cry and feel the feels but also classics. One piece is it. So many social criticism mixed with friendship, follow your dreams, fight for what you think is right, take a breath, let the beauty of friendship heal traumas. After some 2 hundred chapters you will be laughing out loud every single page and crying a full on ocean every volume. I suggest watching Netflixs live action first to get in the zone and get through the first 100 chapters which are the introduction (and the live action plot) then at chapter 200 you are like "you know what, this is very very very good. A full 4 starts" then at chapter 300 you are "oh my, hitting the 5 starts! This is so funny! And sad at the same time! And at chapter 400 you are with puffy eyes screaming "I LOVE THEM. I WANT TO PROTECT THEM ALL. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I WANT TO LIVE WITH THEM" and it becomes your favorite story like it happened with everyone who reads one piece 😂😂 i could never imagine it was as good as people kept saying when i got to the saga that ends at chapter 400ish. I was like "i know you coulsnt shut up about how good it is but IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN YOU SAID. I cant believe it exists still and im only on chapter 460. I just want more and more because i know it wont disappoint
these videos are like a bandaid for my brain
