- “Lone Star Blues” features Edgar Winter and Keb' Mo', a perfect pairing for this personal and biographical song Edgar penned especially for this tribute. Edgar’s gritty singing and Keb’s impeccable guitar works to transport the listener to a small smokey backroom club and the lonesome dirt road that leads there.
Thanks to You and Johnny for all the years of great tunes! R.I.P. Johnny and Rock on Edgar!
Edgar and Johnny -- two of the great talents of our time.

Love this song.
Love this video. Beautiful tribute.
From Johnny's first album , track 1 , Be carefull with a fool , I was inspired to play gtr.. I had been an accordionist performing
polka beer fest as a child , then violin in school orchestra. Moving to Houston I heard the Johnny Winter album with his fingerpicking slide . Then Edgar's song about his bro making it in New York. The vain of talented guitar players Edgar had after jammin w/ bro Johnny, Ronnie Montrose, Rick Derringer, continued with guitar heros . I also had to keep playing that Rock and Roll . I moved to MS and perform at Blues festivals and always perform JW music. Visit Leland at JW Museum ,, and Beaumont to perform small clubs,, LUKES Icehouse ect. The Winter Brothers will always be in my repritua like greats they are , Frankenstein, Monsters of Rock !
Edgar is the creator of my fave song & season, "Autumn".🎸I've been playing that beauty of a song for 40 years. 🌹Thank-you Mr. Edgar Winter. I'm so sorry you lost your bro, too soon.
Dan Hartman wrote the song, sings and plays guitar. A great album
They Only Come Out At Night...I still play it to death.
