Have been to Holme Lacey WARNERS three times. Lovely place, lovely surroundings, staff very efficient, good entertainment. BUT, oh dear, the food deteriated on each visit, it was terrible. So, won't be going again and another couple I know have said the same thing.Great shame.
We used to love the food at Warners but the last couple of years have gone downhill dramatically. We have left feedback about it too but alas, nothing has changed. We have decided to leave it a while before we try again after a disappointing visit to one this past January.
We stayed there last month, first time at a Warners hotel, the house and grounds are beautiful but the food was dire, almost every sitting in the dining room we had to ask for clean cuttlery, the breakfasts were awful and tasted like they had been under heat lamps for hours, i opted for the chefs special on one occasion, it was a slow roasted brisket of beef with vegetables, it was just like a frozen boil in the bag meal. we wont be going back.
Oh, that's a shame. Food service, we've found, is generally excellent - however due to Covid rules it did get a bit slack with queues and waiting times piling up. With things getting back to a more even keel now though there shouldn't be any excuses. We're at another location in November so will update then.
