    I’ve just received my Janome circular attachment and was looking for suggestions on how to use it. Your video is wonderful. Easy to understand, lots of helpful tips and great videography. Taking the time zoom in to make sure we can see what is happening, and seeing which controls you are using makes a big difference. Lovely project, too. I’m now subscribed!

    One thing I like about your videos is that you use a lower end machine for many things. Even though I own top of line machines, I appreciate the fact that many people don't have them and you really help to inspire them! Very cute "Lemon"!

      I try really hard to make these videos as inclusive as possible. I had my first Janome (a basic 20 stitch model) for 30 years before I got a much fancier one and I loved that machine just as much! Xx

      @@janomestitchclubuk I worked in a Janome dealership for many years and was always so fortunate to be able to have the best high end models. But also being an in house teacher there we have to appreciate everyone and teach them to love and get the most from their investment. That’s exactly what you do as well!

    This is the second video of yours that I have watched and I just love that you have several little 'oops' moments just like all we sewists have. Some presenters on sewing blogs I think edit all the oopses out so everything turns out perfect and then when we make mistakes we wonder why we are having trouble and she didn't. I used my circular attachment when I was using my 9000 and found tha that any decorative stitch that had lots of backward stitches ended up making an oval. I couldn't get it to make a clean circle. I haven't got the circular attachment yet for my S9 but I have been contemplating it for awhile (they are expensive and we are on a fixed retirement income). I have bad arthritis and anything that I can use to make things in the easist way possible is great for me. My favorite thing about the S9 is the presser foot up/down button on the front of the machine. Before that my shoulder would be aching so bad, I could only sew for 15 minutes at a time. I'm up to around an hour now!!! I don't drink so Time for Gin was an odd one for me, but seeing this process was educational and on my machine at that, No need to see someone making something with say a Bernina and needing to figure out how to do it on my S9. Thank you again. Very clear instructions.

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  11 місяців тому +1

      Hiya you could try raising the presser foot pressure (check in your instruction book) so it can glide better. I have plenty of Oops moments in my sewing room I couldn't possibly edit them all out🤣🤣🤣

      @@janomestitchclubuk I got a circular sttachment for my S9 and I like it so much better than the one or my 9000. I did have to hold that little srew with tweezers as I couldn't hold the screw and turn it at the same time. Bad arthritis in my hands and I have to fight with them at times.

    Loved making this, following you step by step. Being relatively new to patchwork and appliqué, can I ask how you attached the batting. Did you just use 505 or was the binding enough to hold it in place. It’s so nice to have a UK educator who is not sending us off to an American store. I shall follow you closely.

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  11 місяців тому

      No 505 in my sewing room...I'm old school so it's pins or thread basting usually. With these smaller projects though often there's no need and the clips will hold it together well enough. Glad you enjoyed the project 😀

    Hi, I'm new to your classes. I have watched another of your videos and you were using a paper stitch chart. Is there a way to print off these stitch charts. I would like to make a note book of the different stitches and the separate paper sheets would be very helpful to look back on. Thank you in advance.

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  9 місяців тому +1

      Hiya! Some models have the stitch charts un the back of the instruction manual. Those that don't I have taken a picture of the lid/stitch card and scanned it in to my computer so I can enlarge it etc. It's really worth while stitching them all out...it gives you a much better idea of what the stitches can be used for xx

    I use the circle maker quite a lot, what I don’t like is that the bit to keep it in the right place moves too easily, you have to keep checking it. 27:06 27:06

    Thank you so much for this. I have the foot but have never used it. Wondering how to get decorative stitches to match the pattern when going in a circle. Is it possible to do this?

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  Рік тому +1

      To be honest it would involve measuring one stitch and dividing the circumference up...way to much math for my brain so I usually slow up as I'm coming to the end so I can see if I can fit another whole one in and sometimes take the stitch length down to shorten it to fit in if that makes sense. It also helps to start and finish in different places if doing several rounds so the eye isn't drawn. Hope that helps! Xx

    • @janomestitchclubuk

      Yes it will I have done it around the lemon.You may need to adjust the size (width) according to the size of the circle.For example it might not work as nicely on a very small circle as the lettering might end up too close but you could add in larger spaces in between which would help. X
