It's insightful to consider the perspective of someone familiar with former religious sects. I agree that understanding the Hebrew calendar and the feasts that the Lord gave to Israel at Sinai is important. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, we often don't focus on these feasts and their traditions. However, considering that the Second Coming and many of His parables are deeply connected to these traditional feasts, they merit our study and reflection.

Thank you, she was genuine and refreshing.
27:00 this is so true, it's so watered down, causing a huge loss in the depth of the meaning

What an interesting mix of her past faith experiences. I think this is more common than we think.

Can you remind us where we can find the Hebrew calendar I thought I remember seeing you had made available... somewhere? Thank you!

I like the "Jesus prayer" which is common in orthodoxy.

Interesting views. I don’t like the I know more or better attitude at church also.
Love her view on the temple symbolisms.

I am crazy for Christmas but I’ve been trying to follow the advice of the brethren and make Easter a focus and can I just be honest that I have crashed and burned two years in a row! I’ve felt lost in how to celebrate it for longer than the Sunday meal. I researched the symbols we use like the bunny and it wasn’t good!😮. I have just not been able to connect the sacred and joy of that holiday to a physical celebration in any way. So if anyone has some ideas please share.

We usually do the Easter egg hunt on Saturday, so the bustle of the candy is done before Sunday, then we've tried to do a special activity for the kids, whether it's the Easter eggs with the story pieces, and the scriptures, or something like that for littles. Then the adults usually have a gospel discussion while the kids can play. We also try to incorporate more Holy Week traditions such as studying the Savior's final week all week. We have also done Lent a few times to sacrifice something like chocolate, soda, or social media in preparation for Easter :)
