Potomac River Smallmouth Fishing from the Bank!

- In this episode I fish the Potomac river for smallmouth bass from the bank. The Potomac river is full of smallmouth bass that can be targeted with different rigs. I chose to used a ned rig to target these smallmouth, and I was able to find a few hanging around near shallow rocky areas. It can be tricky hiking on the edge of the river, but it you can deal with the terrain there are good smallmouth fishing opportunities in the Potomac river. Nice video Jon. Gotta love that smallie fight. I was literally there Wednesday and you are right about the rocks. The bass love them. I’m usually intimidated by the Potomac, but it is so low and clear now. Probably had my best day ever there. We do need some rain though.😆

I know the lack of rain isn't good for a lot things but it's been great for fishing. The Potomac isn't usually this easy to wade until late summer.

I believe I was at the same place Thursday morning as your first spot. There's plenty of bass there but you have to wade out away from the bank. They hide under the grass. I caught a bunch, mostly on topwater.
That’s great! I have to to try the top water next! Im glad you were catching them there cuz I struggled there! River is definitely low enough to wade out rn
