It was an actors honour to be interviewed by this talented man.

Oh, man. Just finding out Mr. Lipton has passed on. Inside the Actors Studio was, IMO, one of the best shows of all time, and it was all due to his approach and how he could get the actors to open up. From wildly entertaining to very moving! And loved the closing music. I wish someone would make the entire archive available to the public. There will never be another show like it. I wonder if he ever got his tattoo! RIP, Mr. Lipton, and thank you for so many memorable moments!
His voice and charisma was infectious. Best asmr voice, thank you James for helping me decompress after long days.

Im from England and was really saddened to hear Mr Liptons passing.He was one of the best interviewers i have come across. A wonderful and charismatic man.RIP.

That is so sad, I loved him in The Actors Studio. The show was great when he hosted it but the new format is a bit off putting, only watched it a few times as I thought he was taking a vacation but stopped watching when I realized he was not coming back, it will never be the same. He will be sadly missed. RIP Mr. Lipton.

It was issued from the questionnaire of the french writer Marcel Proust (1871-1922). Bernard Pivot, french journalist and TV host, used it in his literary TV show "Bouillon de culture "(Cultured Broth). He invited James Lipton in 2001, June the 29th in his last TV show. J.Lipton answered to this questionnaire. Great moment of television!

Whether you are an actor, a beautician, an interior decorator or an opera singer, or simply the best homemaker you can be, Craft IS in the Details as noted and spoken in his interview of Harrison Ford! My favourite show host of all time. Truly iconic. May he rest in peace in heaven, though I imagine that he is now researching on God and the angels in preparation of interviewing them.

I really loved this show. What a great man. I just watched the Bradley Cooper episode. So good. James Lipton actually shotgunned a beer on Conan's show. lol Serious and not serious.

Was sad when I heard he passed. He did not get the send off he deserved imo given the horrible year it's been. RIP Mr Lipton.
He did such a great job and, was so genuinely interested in the artists.

PLEASE READ: Reading his bio, now. Man, James screwed up. He had an obsession w/ flying. It's so expensive he joined the Air force. He never completed pilot training. He was emphatic about NOT liking the military. He should've joined the Civil Air Patrol (CAP). The civilian arm of the AF. No: contract, bootcamp, A school. Also, no $. Strictly volunteer.
Incidentally, he learned how to fly Cessnas in Van Nuys, CA. I'm in the process of joining th CAP in Van Nuys (AIRCREW) (I'm also a Navy vet, though).
Anybody else want to fly without, military look into the CAP.
