I like how they made more expressive casting animations. At least for the newer spells. Not just "hold stick high and move your wrist a little" then a huge fucking hp deleting soul spear shoots out.
After putting over 600 hours into Elden Ring I feel so spoiled with being over powered. Now in DS3 I'm weak as f**k. Turns out sorcery is much harder in DS3. Not giving up yet.
Sorcery in DS3 is being pinned against a locker by Mommy Pyromancy. Basically anything Sorcery thinks about doing, Pyromancy does better. Half the game is weak to fire, the other half is weak to Dark, with literally only Midir being notably resistant to both. Sorcery weeps in melee, clinging to infused generic weapons, the Moonlight Greatsword and Friede's scythe, while Pyromancy stunlocks enemies with 6, 7 hit Dark Hand strings that punish shield, can infuse the Saint Bident with whatever they want for huge numbers, flattens late game bosses with the Onyx Blade, and can even pick up Friede's scythe for that pesky Midir matchup, if a Lightning infused bident sounds lame. There's a staff and a charm just for pyromancers, pyromancers get to pick and choose all the best utility from both; pestilent mist, tears of denial, your choice of healing or regen to laugh at poison swamps, the stealth spells, Deep Protection to turn into a melee beefcake, while outmuscling everyone else's damage with Chaos Bed Vestiges anyways, and being better in melee than either other caster, too. You can on the fly adjust your playstyle, mid combat against bosses. Rush down ranged enemies, keep away from aggressive one, bait out and punish boss distance closers, delete problematic normal enemies while fighting another. Heck, you're not even frail, because both your catalyst, and one of your best weapons is weightless, compared to thicc sorcery staves, meaning that Lothric knight armor is almost always on the table. Best of all, Sorcery, you feel pressure to wear the stupid hat and hold the stupid candlestick. Pyromancy, you put on one ring, use the chad split stat catalysts made just for you to cast their best spells and leave the rest, and put on whatever drip you like. Wolnir's Crown, all day, erry day, baby! Put on a shield, stack the shield of want with the Silver Serpent ring, use a wacky status weapon, carry the Executioner's Greatsword to slurp up their delicious FP when you punch them. Seath in shambles, friendship with Gwyn ended, now Izaleth and the Abyss are my friends.
They look similar but they are not reused. Elden ring’s animations are much higher quality and most are brand new. Ds3’s animations are reused from Ds1.
The magic in dark souls 3 ran so that the magic in elden ring could soar. Seriously, just look up the equivalents to some spells or pyromancies from DS3 in Elden Ring and see how much better they are in ER. Flashsword was ok in DS3 meanwhile Carrian Slicer in ER is a freaking health muncher. And there's way more as well.
Okay I'm pretty sure I was playing with someone who was modding. Was doing coop on PS4 and they kept using what I thought was a miracle where they kneeled, raised their hands, and these light ribbons floated up, then what appeared to be an estus recovery came down to them. I looked at all sorceries, pyromancies, miracles, and weapon arts and have not found that ability. Anyone know what that was?
Even though Soul Stream and Comet Azur are basically the same spell, I very much prefer the aesthetic and look of Soul Stream. Nothing feels more satisfying to me then melting a boss' face off with a concrete laser beam of freaking *souls*
Deep Soul is probably better on a pyromancy build, tbh The staff that buffs it wants you to have faith anyways. Though, dark fire orb is probably better...
tf i though spell like comet azure is originally from elden ring, ive played ds3 more than elden ring since ds3 is my first souls game back then but ive never knew that comet azure is already exist before in DS3 like bro wtf xD, ive come to this video since im intersted building mage character for ds3 after fninished elden ring but ive found something that i didnt even know it exist ahaha
@@abilitypreview4873 thats why im confused, he never used that move when facing me, the auto hit like arrow he use it, but the azure, he never use it and i dont know why.
I love the magic overhaul for Elden Ring. It seems they made it a priority.
Yeah DS3 is great but it's magic system was mid
nice vid wanted to know what spells i missed for the achievement and found out thanks to you.
Ah a completionist ! Great work and thanks !
Nice, been looking for a more recent video that showed all the spells after the DLC came out.
You just got a new subscriber friend!
Thanks a lot !
I saw someone shoot a energy beam from like their hand….it was not shown in this video tho

In ER you feel so strong, in DS3, you’re as durable as a wet tissue
Me In elden ring: COMET AZUR GO BOOM BOOM
Me in ds3: ;-;

Magic coming out from the hand instead of the tip of the staff is just messing with my brain.
Its weird because in DS2 it came from the tip.

So Comet Azure is just soul stream
Yeah pretty much !
Comet azur is one in elden ring right

Elden ring reuses a lot of assets from ds3. Enough that people were calling it ds3-2
Very concise, good vid
Great video. I really wish DS3 followed DS2's magic sorceries, in that, they were more unique and DS3 did not create many unique sorceries.
Now that i'm looking back at this, Elden Ring's sorcery/magic reuse a lot of DS3 animations
From Software games are all about reusing things, they must save a lot of money lol
They look similar but they are not reused. Elden ring’s animations are much higher quality and most are brand new. Ds3’s animations are reused from Ds1.
Umm.. well this two games are from the same companies soo why not
thanks, needed this for a build
Glad it was helpful !

WOAH, so you can cosplqy as Sabre with Hidden Blade spell? Sick.
best video for it. I love it. thnks
Thank you and you are welcome !
Dude carian slicer's grandfather is in ds3? Cool

Its the weapon art from a weapon called "pyromancers parting flame." if you kill a certain amount of enemies it gives you estus
2:34 Kaaaa meeeee haaaa meeee haAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
I love ds3 but always hated the fact that sorceries come outta your hand instead of the top of the staff lol
Wow I thought Dark edge was high (doing 615 damage with izillith staff with 44 int and 16 fth)
It still does a lot of damage, note that some enemies have lower or higher dark defence !
@@abilitypreview4873 yes indeed, now I have 60 int and 60 Fth and doing 900 in the first enemies.
Thanks

Character has nice legs I must say.
Hey man can you also do weapon abilities weapon arts
So they've basically reused ds3 spells in elden ring and just named them glintstone sorceries
Pretty much
guess where ds3 got them
What armor are you using?
The Black Witch Set
I have LITERALLY EVERYSPELL LISTED and i dont have the achievement, do i need every spell on a single save?
Yes, one character needs to gather all of them !
I some how made a build around deep soul it’s just bad against dark resistance enemies
Deep Soul is probably better on a pyromancy build, tbh
The staff that buffs it wants you to have faith anyways.
Though, dark fire orb is probably better...
Why cant i use farron dart, i just bought it at the old lady, but i cant use that, i play sorcerer class
u have low int

Soul of Cinder was Azur! He does the beam as well.

@@DZonAv He does use it quite rarely, he needs to be in his mage form for quite some time. That never lasts !
dark magic pls!
