An operating steam locomotive like Nickel Plate Road No. 765 is the perfect way to illustrate progress on our very own 576, see the locomotive appliances under steam, and meet some trackside fans. You can help us finish the restoration of Nashville's very own steam locomotive here: nashvillesteam.org/donate/
Back in '63 I would play on this locomotive in Centennial Park and back then it wasn't under a shed. I dreamed it would some back to life and y'all are making my dream come true. I was just 10 years old but this train is becoming a reality for me now. I only hope that I live long enough to ride on it when it's done. Good job guys!
You guys are doing a beautiful job on 576, when I'm old enough and I get my license I'm going to head out to see her in action. I hope I'll be able to see you guys when I do. Greetings from Pennsylvania
Love to see in depth cooperation between steam groups. The 765 and her crew are a top notch act, and to see that "magic" spread to other groups for the shared cause of reviving steam is a wonderful aspect to see.
