I think it’s important to note that during transactions, spreading is not only restricted to just moving but you can also create+move new migrants. For example, you can send out a “preacher” from your city to convert a nearby enemy migrant. If you have no migrants left in your pool, you just imagine that the new migrant appears then vanishes after the transaction.
you probably dont care at all but does any of you know a method to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot my account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Arthur Bronson i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Great video! I am becoming a fan of Phil Eklund although it is very difficult to get his games in my country. I have in mind to buy this. It's worth it? Is it fun and good game like Megafauna? Greetings from Argentina!
I love the work they put into this one, but I have to say that this fellow did the BEST Pax Porfiriana that I've ever seen. ua-cam.com/video/43kJa53g_pY/v-deo.html
Amazing video. I have a problem when trying to understand what are we actually in this game since we start as different species but... it doesnt make much sense when you think about it, dont you think? I mean in the standard game we should all be humans. Also having some difficulties understannding what the philosophy track represents. I can understand and play the game. Its just that I enjoy gettin inmersed and I find it difficult in origins when compares to both genesis and megafauna
Thank you my friend! Yeah, the simulation starts to get a little hazy when we get into Origins, especially in the merfolk variant, I think it's called? Lol! I think I've stopped looking into it at this point 😂
@@BitsOfBoard we finally finished our three games campaign and the simulation is increasingly weird as the series moves on. In genesis it’s easy to relate to your species because you’ll only have one which can actually survive, so you end up having that good feeling of “nice, I managed to evolve into a snail”. In megafauna things get crazy because you can start having lots and lots of species. Evolving is really easy when compared to genesis and if you are actually trying to advance like you did in the previous game, you will probably stagnate. In megafauna you have to go after emotions and do it knowing that some of your species are going to fail brutally. At that point the series transfers from a “look what creature I managed to create, let’s keep i alive” to “all my species are my pawns, I am a militar leader and I have to destroy the other colours in the board”. That doesn’t mean the game is bad, it is good, but I just prefer the “struggle for life and evolution” genesis offers, at least when comparing them from a simulation point of view. We finally have origins which it is simply weird. It’s a civ game at its core and it wants to portray what happened when humans started to evolve into societies and civilization started to actually exist. That in itself comes with some problems... if you reach origins from megafuna, at least one species from each player will have attained inteligence. So the game now is a struggle for.. I dont know. Being the best species? Even if you don’t come from megafauna, each player will represent one species of hominids. This means that the game which portrays our era, doesn’t allow us to actually portray our era because if that was the case, even if the game is divided in 4 eras, in real history the black player (homo sapiens in the game) would have won in the first one. So basically, bios: Origins is a what if game where instead of homo sapiens becoming dominant, 2 to 4 hominids managed to evolve and create civilization. It’s also weird that having such an incredible scope, there are only 4 player colours in the game. It all gets way too blurry from a simulation point of view. It is a good game, but it stops making sense... no internal wars or conflicts between your species is something hard to believe, the whole world dominates by the same “4 civs” or “species” for mora than 6 millionnyears... unless we actually represent other things I am not understanding haha. Sorry for the long wall of text. Amazing video and amazing game. Just wanted to share those thoughts
I reckon you've put it perfectly there, such a great distilling of the series! And assuming we're not missing anything with the representation of each species, maybe a new title: Bios "What if 4 species grew up together with no internal struggle" Genesis? Haha! 😂 I really appreciate a good wall of text 😊 Thank you!
@@guillemruiz5136 yes that's a good point. In the end, the differentiation between the four different hominins is unnecessary and somehow artificial, and was made just because of the starting positions. I don't buy too much the high alternate history concept of "ooh, which species of hominins will dominate, maybe it's not going to be the Sapiens..." and it makes sense just for Epoch I. Pushing it further it's just a very extreme version of the "geography makes history" stance popularised by Jared Diamond (which has its merits in terms of wide movements of history, but it's kind of a stretch especially for epoch 4 and possibly 3). As far as I see it, Epochs 2-4 are basically a fight between large 'tribes' (or haplogroups, perhaps?) or humankind so see who's the most successful.
At 30:51 you must slide the market cards down before adding cards from the new Epoch.
Thanks for this. Played Genesis and Megafauna fine, but this one is making my head spin! :D
At 31:58, you may only discard ONE Bellwether per Challenge phase.
What a fantastic job you have done! Much appreciated! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Looking forward to your next review. Hope all is well!

Great info 😊 Thanks, Demi!
Excellent work, sir. Many thanks!
You made this seem easier than Genesis! Can not wait to play this game.
Thanks Omanshu, glad I could be of some help! Good luck with your play!
Great breakdown, thank you for your work.
This is a fantastic video. As a small note, it would be very helpful to have timestamps for sections

It's on the list for sure :P Truly a wonderful game!
Found the piece! So as not to spoil: transportation.
Any plans to make a video for Pax Pamir 1st edition? Its pretty different to the 2nd edition.
Probably not at this stage unfortunately. But if I do come across a copy and get a chance to play, I will certainly consider it :)
Thank you so much!
Awesome, thanks a bunch, helps a lot

Blue car!
Nailed it! All the way from Tokyo Highway :D
Hello all!
Anyone wants to play bios:origins together?
In Vassal, for example.
I'd appreciate some help with learning the game.
The rulebook to this game is the worst I've ever seen
