I didn't grab it because I didn't need it. ;-p Being a NOLF vet, I came to like seeing that "You avoided all injury" blurb at the end of each mission. I soon figured out that the best way to get that was to leave my Health alone and max out my Armor as soon as possible. As you see, even a direct hit from a rocket drops my Armor to a sliver but still doesn't injure Cate at all. :-)
Actually, IIRC, the end of Contract JACK ends with John Jack dying, but not before he gets to Dmitri's skis and sabotages them. Contract JACK takes place between NOLF and NOLF2. Aside from getting shot up and falling into an ice chasm, he was okay at the end of NOLF. But in NOLF2, there's Intelligence about him having a skiing accident where his skis failed, he went off a cliff and landed on a little girl, and he ended up in a body cast because of that accident. So orlnl would be correct.
Yeah, for some reason I wasn't surprised to see Volkov show up again. But it was funny. "I quit." "You quit? You can't quit!" "Watch me." "Come back here!" Then the Director says something to the effect of "HARM will return" and other stuff that leaves the door open for NOLF3. Too bad we don't have a NOLF3...yet. Even after all these years. ;-)
One of the intelligence items you pick up along the way is Volkov's recollection of the skiing accident which left him confined in a wheelchair. I forget where you find the note or what exactly the note says, but the skiing accident had something to do with Volkov and a cute girl. ;-)
It was Volkov's last stand too...but then again, we can't be sure that it was truly a last stand for Isako OR for Volkov. After all, Pierre died, but Isako and Volkov survived.
Oh, it's very nice! It's hard to find clever or witty FPS games. But just do a UA-cam search for any NOLF or NOLF2 videos and it seems like most of the time there's something humorous about the clip...even things like two scientists making out in a supply room, or fighting a ninja inside a tornado-tossed trailer home, or fighting a man in a full-body cast and a wheelchair.... ;-D
Yeah, that 100 MB size limit can be a bear sometimes. I use Fraps to record my videos, and Fraps save in the .AVI format, which makes some HUGE memory-hogging videos. So then I have to open the .AVI video in Windows Movie Maker just to convert it to the much more reasonably sized .WMV format. It can be a pain. :-(
Good thing for him the lava's fake. Someone around here pointed out how the artificial lava's temperature is mentioned somewhere in the game, and the temperature is in the thousands, so it sounds pretty impressive. But it's in Kelvin, and of course pretty much everything on the Kelvin scale's in the thousands. So convert the fake lava's temperature to Fahrenheit or Centigrade, and it's around room temperature...hardly fatal. ;-)
As I remember, though, the joke was that was that the fake lava's temperature is listed in Kelvin, and it sounds impressive if you're thinking in terms of Fahrenheit, but the fake lava's actually not all that hot if you're familiar with Kelvin. I don't recall what number the Intelligence actually said, but it couldn't have been too hot; Fahrenheit overtakes Kelvin somewhere around 575 F / 574.82 K. Yeah, something like that. Must have been in the hundreds. Who here remembers that document?
bloody bay please tell me how did you make this movie. What programs i need to make a video. PS i used fraps but when i start it my game runs nasty and i want to move like your video Please hellp me
Man, Cate never got to ride any vehicle with a chaingun on the front. She really missed out. She could have at least thrown Volkov out of his wheelchair and hijacked it. :-(
Actually, all I used was the registered version of Fraps. Just make sure you close all unnecessary programs you have running in the background, then run Fraps (full version), then run the game you wish to record. I hope that helps. The registered version is MUCH better than the trial version, believe me. :-)
A third NOLF, a third Max Payne, a third Vampire: The Masquerade computer game...there are so many potentially good sequels out there, waiting to be made. :-(
Heh! Dialogue clips from ALL henchmen in the game? This I have to see. Hear. Whatever. :-) "I can see you are afraid! I am damazhed! Ees curtains for you, mon ami!" :-D
haha volkov is totally just a warm-up fight instead of a boss. you could've shown people where the spy manual was during the isako fight. it's not that much of a hike :P nice katana headshots at the start, by the way.
(Note to self: UA-cam doesn't like Degrees symbols either. Don't include them in your comments unless you want to have your comments declined. Thanks for being all big and forboding with the non-alphanumerics, UA-cam....)
if you shoot volkov with one bullet you can hear HIM sya evil women, and your lucky im in a weelchair and such. he is not death, the lava isnt very hot, its only 300 somewhat kelvin, minus 270 or something and you have it in celsius. you can also see it after the credits.
well, you never know, maybe a mod or something but the community isnt that big unfortunatly, and in the end of nolf 1 you can see the director and volcov too, only the director looks different and volkiov isn't in a wheelchair, maybe it really WAS a skieing accident
No, happily enough, Volkov doesn't die. He comes back after you beat the game to tell the Director "I quit". And after everything that happens to Volkov in two NOLF games _and_ in Contract: Jack, I don't blame him! :-)
I just reported our spamming friend here to the UA-cam staff. This reply is only so I can see how long it takes for his account to disappear. Let's wait and watch, shall we?
...and, like everyone else who's played this game, I wish Cate had thrown that shuriken at the Director's head instead of his gun. At least the Director's not THAT hate-worthy, though. I'll give him this: At least he's not that one-dimensional, borderline psychotic, invulnerability-complex-harboring asshat General Hawkins. >:-(
Yeah, yeah, sure. Thank you, Reverend. >:-/ See, folks, this is the kind of "input" that really irritates me. It's like going to a Star Trek convention, walking up to Patrick Stewart and shouting "Captain Kirk was a better starfleet captain!" It's not particularly relevant, it's not welcome and, frankly, it's a bit rude.
OMG this game is one of the best shooter in the world!!I LOVE THIS GAME AND I LOVE CATE ARCHER!!
Suddenly I feel a great need to get a copy of Contract JACK and complete the trilogy. Thank you. :-)
I didn't grab it because I didn't need it. ;-p

For its time it has great graphics and even today makes a great game. Both visually and gameplay wise

She owes a life debt to the Director. The Director forfeits that life debt when he tries to kill Isako, though.
@BloodyBay
I thought that was Isako's last stand like Pierre's in your vidoe

Dmitrij Volkov is still alive , impossibble .. :D
Thanks. :-)
Well, I just threw up two more NOLF2 videos. Enjoy! :-)
Man, Cate never got to ride any vehicle with a chaingun on the front. She really missed out. She could have at least thrown Volkov out of his wheelchair and hijacked it. :-(
They're the best kind...until you haul off and marry one, that is. ;-)

NOLF 3 ever coming out?
I'm afraid not. But I found my copies of NOLF1 and NOLF2 on eBay. You might want to give eBay or Amazon a look.
@immortal4hm Who, Volkov?
It's the moustache chic, isn't it? ;-p
On my way. :-)
If they do, I never found it. I bet they're breeding all kinds of future HARM goons, though.
aren't they making nolf 3?

Yeah....and at 3rd its Leon Scott Kennedy from RE4
Do they at least give us more motorcycle rides? :-(

volkov didn't die?

Not as far as I've heard. It would be nice, though.
Pffft...if they have a life gauge at the top of the screen, they're a boss fight. ;-p
...and, like everyone else who's played this game, I wish Cate had thrown that shuriken at the Director's head instead of his gun. At least the Director's not THAT hate-worthy, though.
