YES YES YES! THANK YOU!!!! I fell in love with this when I was stationed on Okinawa - but I forgot the name. Everyone kept telling me what I remember is Buta no Kakuni - which I LOVE, but it's not the same. I am going to make this TOMORROW!!! Oh THANK YOU!!! Wish I'd "discovered" this channel a few days earlier - my Korean family would've LOVED this for Seollal. BUT... they're going to love it regularly from now on! Thank you again - subscribed and am EAGER to binge-watch your offerings!!!

I love cooking videos 😊. This looks so delicious 😋 I want to make this now yummy!! Thanks for sharing my friend 👍
This is my favorite dish and you really can’t go wrong with pork belly! 😁 Thanks so much for watching!! 😀❤️
Wow, this looks so good. The final pics of the glossy reddish brown colors are instant waterworks for my taste buds. I imagine this would be fantastic over a bed of white rice and a heaping helping of scallions. Def gonna have to try this out sometime. My only real complaint is that pork belly is too delicious and I end up eating too much.
Awww, thanks so much for your kind comments!!! You definitely should give this recipe a try! It’s very delicious and very easy to make! Thanks so much for watching!! 😀😀
OMG, now I have to see if my local butcher has pork belly. That looks amazing!!!!
Oh my goodness, it’s definitely one of my favorite dishes! And it’s so easy to make!! You can never go wrong with pork belly!! 😁😁
Looks delicious! Reminds me a lot of 红烧肉, except for that recipe we caremalise rock sugar and use beer instead of sake.
Awww, thank you!! And wow! Rock sugar and beer? Sounds amazing!! Thanks so much for watching and your comment!!
WOW... Ok guess what I'm looking for when I go back to the butcher shop! I love pork belly and that looks like pork heaven! I'm totally going to make that!! Thank you Sheri!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY
It’s really tasty and so easy to make!! I love pork belly and this is such a great recipe!! Thanks for watching, Tom!! 😀❤️
Thanks for the video.. may I ask what brand of soy sauce that you use for this recipe?
Thanks so much for watching!! I use Aloha shoyu for this recipe.
Wow, that looks fantastic! 🤤 I've been looking for a good pork belly recipe. I might have to try that! 🤤 Does the pork belly come out crispy or mostly tender? 😁❤
Hey DG! The texture of the pork is very soft (the fat gets cooked PERFECTLY!) but the outside edges of the fat are a bit crispy and that is soooo good! You should try this recipe! So easy to make and so delicious!! Thanks for watching!!!
Prepare:
Pork
Cooking sake
Shoyu
Mirin
Mashed garlic
Mashed ginger
3tbs brown sugar
What can i not use sake? Just use mirin 1:1 with shoyu?
You can try the recipe omitting the sake. I have not tried it, though. Mirin 1:1 with shoyu seems like a good option, though the shoyu might alter the flavor of the recipe too much. But you could try it! I’d love to know how it was!
Wow!!! So beautiful and wonderful beautiful Okinawan Shoyu Pork Belly recipe by the great Chef Tiny Asian Pastry Girl.Perfect presentation good create good texture tender soft good taste mouth watering nice color rich ingredients successful results professional cooking shows Thanks for your dedication and hard work that will be appreciated God’s bless you and your family always with good health good luck and happiness Love stay safe in 2024🌹🌟🌷❤️⭐️👩🍳🌸🍷😘🥂👍🙏
Thanks so much for watching and for your very kind comments!! 😀😀
Try the same thing with fish sauce, chop shallots, and black peppers, coconut water. Eat it with white rice and kimchi or green mustard pickle.
That does sound really good! Thank you!!
Ooh. I actually have all those ingredients. Will put it on the list of things to try too.
Awesome recipe and awesome video! But one thing I'd like to say being a butcher by trade is to avoid using serrated knifes when cutting meat😅 those are primarily for bread and pastries. Otherwise great video, easy to follow! Made it myself and it was extremely delicious! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for watching!! I must have lousy knives at my house 😁 because I filmed the cutting several times and the only knife that cut through it was my serrated knife. 😁😁 Thanks so much for your comments!! They’re much appreciated!! 😀😀
A sharp knife is a happy knife! It's not that a serrated knife is bad, the sawtooth does provide a little extra cutting power, but also tends to make a mess of things for presentations sake or just for keeping things together in general like keeping skin or fat caps attached 😁 keep up the great work, I look forward to your future videos
@@DustinJanzenDotCom - Thank you!!!
This looks fantastic but, it would be so helpful if you pinned a list of the ingredients, so we didn't have to keep checking back or stop starting the video. 😊
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments!! I will do that in future videos, thanks so much for the feedback, I appreciate it! 😀
Yummmmmm
Thank you for watching!! 😀😀
why no awamori? not really rafute without it.
I’m going to have to make it again soon and try that. The recipe I highlighted didn’t call for it. Thanks for watching!!
@@TinyAsianPastryGirl black okinawan sugar as well. its a very traditional dish. i dont mean to be critical but those 2 ingredients are what make it unique from other stewed pork belly recipes like dongpo.
@nullakjg767 I thank you for your comments! I take all comments to heart and am not offended in the least. Anything that helps make the dish better or more authentic, I’m all for it.
Pork and teriyaki sauce, how can you possibly go wrong. Thanks.
Thanks so much for your comment! Very true, can’t go wrong with pork belly and teriyaki sauce.
welldone ,this video could be done in 30sec but it almost 6min😅
Hahaha. True, but I didn’t want to do this as a short. Thanks for your comment.
