    I built mine as a showroom stock Impala using scripts from Model Car Garage, aftermarket resin stock hubcaps, and vinyl whitewall tire stickers. Because the engine is a big block, I added the "427 Turbo Jet" fender emblems. Chevy offered a nice gold metallic interior option, which goes nicely with the black exterior

    Bought one to build like the one I grew up around. My parent's car was a '67 BelAir 4-door, 6-cyl column shift, copper exterior with black interior, bought used in '69. Back then, Dad wouldn't pay more than $1000 for a car. Soon after, inflation took hold and there's no way you could keep to a $1000 budget in a full-size 2-yr-old used sedan after that.

    Just found your U-Tube on the build of this Supernatural 1967 Impala. I haven't built these AMT kits since the early 1960's, when in high school. My son who is 30, and his wife watched the show Supernatural, they bought the AMT kit for me to build for them. A couple of areas slowed me down in the build process after all these years away.I have been two evenings now trying to figure out the wheel assembly, as someone remarked below they also had issues as to extra parts. After watching your video, I will try again tonight to get the wheel assembly together to finish this model for my son for Christmas. One question if I can ask? I have had for many years now, the AMT, 3 in 1 Trophy series, 1958 Chevy Impala, kit 2758-200, that has doors that open. The instructions are missing as well as the 348 engine, I must have started the build and just put it away all those years ago. I would like to build and finish this 58 chevy now, but no instructions to do that or engine. Any suggestions would be helpful, Thank you Doug.

    Very nice build. Rebuilding some AMT kits I first built in the 1960s. Glad I still have them. This kit is a nice rendition of the 67 Impala. Never heard of the TV show. Did I hear you say you primed the body ? If the plastic is black and the paint is black, why is priming necessary. ? Thanks and have a happy new year. Enjoy the site.

    • @travisehlers2884
      @travisehlers2884 3 роки тому +1

      With acrylics primers help with adhesion, but for the most part primers help show some imperfections so they can be repaired before the color coat, and fill small imperfections before the color coat. Other uses for primer is base shading, highlighting or darkening the color coat. Black on black was mostly for the adhesion of the X-1 Tamiya color coat.

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Рік тому

      Rafay, Your glue points will be where the interior meets the window sills and the tops of the fender wells.
      Start by inserting the chassis at the rear end then spread the body sides using some flat blades (like a putty knife to lower the body in toward the front. Watch for interference by the engine parts and wiggle it down into position. Hope this helps! We're here to inform and inspire! Hey Sir. New Subscriber here. Really enjoyed the build. You did a great job. I am 58 years old. What is the difference between enamel and acrylic paints? In my day we only used enamel paints. So I really don't know the differance between the two. Have a Happy New Year.

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  3 роки тому +1

      James, Generally they have different bases. Enamels and lacquers are oil based and acrylics are water based. Acrylics are thinned with alcohol or water and general dry faster than enamels but they are not as "tough" so they demand less handling. Thanks for the sub!

    Hello, I'm currently building this and going through a checklist of parts and ensuring I didn't miss anything. On my chrome sprue, I have 2 parts labelled 500 and 506 that, as far as I can tell, aren't labelled in the instructions, but also aren't included in your leftover parts list. Most videos I see show those parts cut out of the sprue but don't showcase where they go.
    Do you know where they might go?

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Рік тому

      Devyn, I don't recall those parts either. The sprue block may have come out of the mold that shuts the runner off to mold the parts allowing you to get a gander at something that doesn't belong to this build.
      If you send me a closeup photo of the parts, I'll try to identify them for you. righton@rightonreplicas.com
      Thanks

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  Рік тому +1

      Devin, What you have there are parts for one of AMT’s other kits - the ’67 Impala SS. Baby was a column shift car so it didn’t use the center console (part 500) with a floor shift. Additionally, the hood louver (part 506) was strictly found on the SS version. For realism, fill in that hole in the transmission tunnel where a shifter would go.

    I’m a young modeler and love it! Just finished my first one, a Revell Stuka Ju 87g-1. I have a question: do you use an airbrush? It seems overkill, and I wondered if I actually needed it for good modeling

    • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  3 роки тому +1

      Warner, It's great to have young folks like you in the hobby. You'll have a lot of fun. Regarding airbrushes. Because they use much lower spray pressure you can paint a surface and retain most of the detail. whereas spray cans or brushes tend to load up the detail due to carriers in the paint. • @RightOnReplicas
      @RightOnReplicas  3 роки тому +1

      Cris, Before you cut - look to where the interference points are first. It may be the interior tub running into to something like the bottom of the window glass. Great year but Come-on a 4-door.... can't be a muscle car !
    I remember when they added this car to the video game "The Crew" ( Couldn't figure out why they would put a 4 door car in a DLC )
    Then someone told me about the TV series... I said well I guess that make sense ? So I blame it on the shows creator, you could've used a sweet Impala SS with a 427 , 454, 396.... they missed a great chance for a wicked TV ride 🤐
