  • It was the Fall of 2010 and BlueCap Productions' What's Hot In Tucson series had only been going on for three years. In a bid to expand the franchise, BlueCap Productions had joined the AGTA and launched the short-lived What's Hot In Tucson: Gems & Jewelry. Interest in the series was growing and more and more dealers were becoming familiar with the What's Hot... series.
In August, BlueCap Productions was in Texas attending the Grand Opening of a new gallery and we happened to meet German collector Gerhard Wagner who introduced himself in this manner: "Hello. My name is Gerhard Wagner. You don't know me but you will. I have some ideas we should discuss later."
Later that evening we ran into each other again in the hotel lobby and, three bottles of scotch later, the idea of What's Hot In Munich was launched (and my somewhat hazy recollection of the evening still gives credit to the scotch for getting Gerhard to agree to the be host).
This was the first time that BlueCap Productions would attempt to produce a show outside of the United States and, since that day, we've never looked back.
This program has been buried in the archives for 13 years and we've decided to release it NOW - on the one week countdown to the 2023 Munich Show.
So come with us now as we jump into the past and follow Gerhard Wagner around Munich in search of....What's Hot In Munich!!!
What's Hot In Munich: 2010 is brought to you compliments of the Munich Show, Gerhard Wagner and BlueCap Productions.

WOW! The Brazilian bi-colored scepters of red/green tourmaline, and the Spudemene scepter, + the Brazilian dark blue Aquamarine were out of this world. Stunning!

Amazing " little garnet" inclusion in the Aquamarine.

The increase in intensity and quality of illumination with modern high color-temperature LED flashlights is striking when compared to the old incandescents from just a decade or so ago here. Even the display case illumination here is notably dimmer and too warm relative to the current technology.
