Hearing Test

- Hearing Test Tones starting from low to high. DO NOT LISTEN AT HIGH VOLUME. Each tone will play for 8 seconds. Turn speakers or headphones down to a low or comfortable level of hearing. These are the same tones used in Audiology testing. Young people can usually easily hear all the tones at a low volume. As age progresses, or with ear trauma, your hearing may become impaired. The loudness of the tones in this video does not change, only the pitch changes. If you find it hard or impossible to hear tones at a certain frequency range, you may have hearing loss. Only a trained Audiologist can do a proper diagnosis. This is only for entertainment and is not meant as a replacement for a True Audio-gram by a licensed Audiologist.

I came here because I usually always wear my earbuds and play music at loud, so I thought that I possibly could’ve fucked my hearing, but I’m happy to know I made it all the way through. It’s crazy to hear the difference between my left ear that is perfectly fine, and my right ear that is not doing so well. Even in the very start I could tell the intense difference between the two ears. When it got to a certain number it felt like the numbers weren’t moving when I was listening in my right ear.

Made it all the way through, made it to almost 16,000 on a few other tests, one even said I have fantastic hearing, so I feel pretty good. I got scared because of an sinus infection I got that gave me two ear infections in the same ear. I've seen an ENT and he told me my ears look fine, just that there was still fluid in there and gave me antibiotics, I think it's just that time of year, my sinuses have always sucked.

I had infection 2 times. One in april, accmpained by tinnitus, it went away after a month. 2nd time in june, now the tinnitus is still here(it could even take 1-1,5 years to go away as i read it and I still have to go to MR(just I have braces yet so I will go later and to Orthopedy, my neck got shit on PE lesson while rolling. I got influsion in the summer, I had 2 hearing test, before and after and in 1 week it got a bit better. from that its again quieter(as i feel, ofc I do not have integrated decibel measure software). And sometimes it happens that I hear better with my infected ear which is strange. bur otherwise not a big thing, nearly both ear are the same. Luckily I only have tinnitus in one ear (left) so its not that bad and does not mean that bad comparing to 2-ears tinnitus. I really hope it will go away eventually but luckily its not that bad for me. For example someone struggles with sleeping or concentrating qnd for me it doesnt matter(didnt even have struggles in the first days). But im really hoping it will go away eventually (heard everything with both ears here)
Ah
i can hear 5000 better than 4500
That's normal when we are exposed to noise throughout our lives. The first frequencies we lose are around 4000. I have a loss at 4000 in my left ear. As soon as it switches to 4500 it comes back. And I can hear 5000 much better than 4000 in that ear too. I have a 25/30 decibel loss at 4000 in my left ear.
this KINDA SUCKS losing our hearing ability day by day and there's nothing we can do about it
iheb hnen Having some degree of hearing loss in frequencies like 4 Khz is common. I have it in my left ear, and my Dr. says it's nothing to worry about. It's a high frequency and the loss in about 10%, but if i compare with my right ear it's noticeable. Maybe you should have a hearing test done so that you'll see if u have some loss and from then on start being a little bit more conscious before going to a concert lol
87JuliR i can still hear everything as anyone else can hear it so no big deal
iheb hnen 10 000 better than 8000

Hearing damage usually comes later on. Please lower it just a bit, it’s hard at first but will be worth it in your old age
@@jamesbeers5710 It's hard to enjoy music at lower volumes. I turned it down for a few months but went right back after listening to loud music for a couple of days

seems like my sensitivity might be slightly reduced 1K and around 7K. makes sense since most of my loud music exposure has been in environment where those two frequencies had a lot of problems.

I heard all the tones at volume 1, no headphones. What does it mean?
I got to about 6000. My hearing was fine all the way up until my early 50's, then the tinnitus started. Now it's 24/7 ringing. Loud music all my life and especially riding the bike with earphones in. Not worth it. Be careful. It will hit you later in life when you still have plenty of hearing to do.

Weird. The majority I can hear with both ears but 1 or 2 is only left or right. When the tone moves on to a higher pitch I can hear with both again.
I am using mobile phone for hearing test. Please tell me how much volume should be????
(Aged 15, female)
I heard them all fine but I am still really worried because my friends call me deaf since I always have to ask them to repeat something and will often zone out of conversations due to the fact I can't hear them all of the time.
Hey there! So good news is I'm pretty sure your hearing is perfectly fine ...what you might have is ADHD ...I have the same issue you have ..I can hear just fine but I zone out to where it seems like I can't hear what someone is saying to me
I'm 72, and I knew I could hear better w my left ear than my right ear, and the test showed me that.
At around 8k, the sound diminished, but I could still hear, especially if I put my phone next to my ear. Any other 70-80 yr olds? No young pipsqueaks, please. 😊
You're very lucky, I couldn't hear anything above the 2k mark. However I've abused my hearing far too often, mostly with angle grinders and road breakers.
When does the test start?
I can hear all of them, but I often have issue to understand phone call speech, seems I am too sensitive to some sound frequencies, is there a way to fix this kind of issue?
+Weizhong Gong Although many people do have difficulty understanding phone call speech, if it happens often enough to affect your life, I recommend doing some research on auditory processing disorder (APD). Although you may not have it, what you said reminds me a little of my own APD. But I have the issue not just with phone calls, but also in everyday speech as well.
To summarize: It's like dyslexia of the ears, a miscommunication between the brain and the ears. When people talk to you, and they are on the phone or they are mumbling even a little, or there is noise around you, it's hard to understand what they are saying. It's like trying to listen to people talking on the radio through radio static: You hear more of the distraction, no matter how hard you try to catch every word a person is saying. That's what it's like to live with APD for me. Unfortunately, there is no cure for it, but it can be helped a little with training, especially as a child. Hope that helps! :-)
+IceCrossFire Thanks for the reply. At one stage, I also suspect I am having APD issue, but after discussed with some APD researchers, this possibility seems unlikely. So still don't know what's the real cause of my issue.
I have tinnitus, and I was still available to hear all of them on the lowest volume level.
I'm 51 with pretty severe tinnitus and surpringly made it to 9000hz.but needed the volume up once past 8000hz. This is an improvement for when I had Covid where I thought my hearing was affected. I couldn't hear past 8000hz so ears must have recovered a bit.
heard all of them. but every time it seemed like my body was getting heavier and heavier....
'm 83 and heard 8k~ in both ears; back in the day using my test equipment, I could hear 16k~. I believe my HF range was damaged by a Craftsman belt sander that had a very noisy HF gear reduction set to the point of pain and I just disregarded it....
If i hear all of them, I am good right. I heard every frequency on the just one step above the mute sound level of my earphones. Please let me know. Thanks
That is really good. Great hearing. Thanks for watching!

is it normal for my right ear to drop off in the midrange and then pick back up?
I could hear them all at 1 volume.
I was on lowest volume on my device also I have ear muscles like some people and I found that slightly moving my ears higher (only direction I can move them with the muscle lol) made it slightly easier to hear the tones
what volume should this be at because I heard everything
I can still hear the frequencies after the test but no pain, is this normal?
Note to self... check back in a year: volume 1 up to 8000 both ears, volume 2 for 8500 and up, with volume 3 needed in right ear for the last couple. Another note to self: never use headphones on guitar amps again unless you absolutely know the volume‘s low.

Long-term my hearing will probably be better ironically because of this accident, as I take many more precautions now than I ever would have for example at live gigs or with headphones.
