What was meant by that 'anti adoption' comment is that in Australia, there is a lot of red tape trying to adopt children within its borders. I believe that Hugh and Deb went to the US to acquire their two adopted children. There was a lot of waiting around to get anywhere in Australia. I am not sure how long, but something ridiculous (like our Aussie government is) - probably about 10 years.
Yes, he was. But he was not only awesome as Wolverine. Also in other roles he was great, and on stage he is stunning. I'm sure, he is brilliant in his current role as "Jean Valjean", and I think he will be it on many future projects. :-)
Not everyone that wants to adopt can afford to travel o/s as well, so Deb was a co-founder of an organization to bring awareness of situation to the general public/media in Australia and to try and push the government's pitiful policies along. Hope this makes sense to you.

Ich hab zwar den Satz von Whoopi nicht zu 100% verstanden, aber nach Hughs Reaktion (achte mal auf die Körpersprache) zu urteilen, muß es einerseits lustig aber auch etwas ..peinlich?...gewesen sein.

Da hat er mit eine Frau im Publikum gefragt wie sie heißt und sie antwortete mit ihrem Namen und "Sir". Daraufhin hat er so was gesagt wie: Du brauchst nicht Sir sagen, Du kannst Hugh sagen. @tubester4567 I am not familiar with the topic of adoption, but I think Hugh means not, that anyone is completely against adoption. He means the adoption laws in Australia. They are too strict and it takes too long. I also don't think Hugh tell something like this for publicity reasons. He has not even necessary.

Ich glaube, wenn ich ihn einmal treffen würde, hätte ich echt Probleme ihn mit Mr.Jackman ansprechen, das klingt irgendwie so fremd und falsch. Einfach nur Hugh hört sich ...........
