What a gun! With out seeming like a 'bad driver' excuse, I had noticed the tiny differences between karts. However, to use each kart well gives you consistent times. Thus, being said, in 12 minutes I learnt so much about karting lines from you mate. A further 39 second video adds to this now :) I'm comin for your time Bro! ;P -2Shae. Rookie (3rd time) 38:449
Hay Glenn Forsyth, All the Karts are very good but, you need to adopt different driving styles to able to get fast lap times. Since the track resurface, I have driven all the Karts under 36.2xx seconds.
Drove kart 1 on Monday, was very quick but the rears were shot, kart 6 was better on the day (i had never driven the track since re-surfacing though). i would expect you to get this sort of time given you are a member of staff and have plenty of track time. Have you gone to other venues? I am curious on how you would fare at places like tuke, lemans, stony, phillip island, karting madness, top kart and silhouette.
***** Hey Glenn, I understand that I get a lot of track time compared to others (i.e. Non Team Members) which gives me a better understanding of what each kart does & doesn't do around the corners. What I have found to work best, is that you need to try out different techniques and lines while driving, along with listening to the Engine, it helps with telling you if you are going fast or not (or at the speed you desire). In response to your question, I have driven on a number of other public hire tracks, however most only once which were quite a long time ago. Bellow are the Lap Times I am able to recall doing at some of these venues: Silhouette : 32.8XX seconds. Auskarts : 27:1XX seconds. Lemans : 35.7XX seconds. Tuke : 28:XXX seconds.( My experience here was not quite pleasant ) Phillip Island go kart track : 58:XXX (Wet) Kind Regards, Sunny.
+Sanuja Perera Yeah, I was there a few weeks ago, and managed a 39.8 (I thought I was good until I see this lap haha). I notice you're sideways going into a few corners, is this because of your late braking? I tried to not slide at all, is this good?
+dabooda49 It's not late braking. It's because, to able to turn into the corner quicker & pick up the throttle earlier but, must keep the rebs up otherwise if the engine bogs down, you kill the lap time. Don't forget these karts are 4 stroke which means they take long time to built up the speed so, it very important to carry the momentum through the corners !
