    Seeing someone learn the ladder and the ladder breaker for the first time makes me feel nostalgic.

    At 13:09, first I thought, the ladder is breakable here. Because white's supporting stone seems to far away to connect white to. But then I played it out and noticed the supporting stone delivered an atari on one of blacks diagonal stones. Which is arguably worse because not only does the group escape, but you also lose some tempo.

      I was given a reason but I can't remember it anymore.

      Because of the potential confusion with other letters (J or L), or the number 1?
